Sir Aurel Stein made three exploratory trips to Chinese Turkistan in 1900-01, 1906-08 and 1913-15. He took with him a native Surveyor of the Survey of India in Dehra Dun, and together they mapped their many travels in Turkistan. A set of 45 maps of Turkistan was produced. This report describes the production of these maps and adds explanatory comments regarding individual maps.
