Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary Doctor of Ministry Thesis-Project
Abstract: This thesis will review an understanding of Biblical theological and psychological contributions to an integrated perspective of marriage and family therapy. Human beings are created in the image of God and since God is a relational God, they are created to relate to God and other selves, forming I-Thou bonds. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is one approach that serves as a foundation and developing approach to integrate these Biblical theological and psychological concepts. EFT facilitates the proper diagnosis, assessment and treatment planning for couples facing marital distress. These principles are illustrated with case material from a couple in therapy.
