The political struggle of the Infallible Imam’s has always been noteworthy. Though, the Islamic Caliphate was changed to an Empire and the leading of Imams to a kingdom in the first century. But The Imams always continued their struggle against this change. Their main aim was to establish an Islamic government based on Islamic principles. Imam Ali Raza (AS) also continued this struggle in the era of Abbasids during period of his contemporary caliphs. The Imam adopted such politics & strategies against the politics of Al-Ma’mun which strengthened the foundations of Islamic government. It has been tried to highlight these efforts in this article. The most important event in this regard is that Al-Ma’mun crowned upon Imam Raza (AS) to disguise his covert objectives. The political measures of Imam against Al-Ma’mun have been reviewed with historical references in this article. Al-Ma’mun Abbasi did wasted efforts to achieve political objectives and to gather the sympathies of Shiites at this area by warmly welcoming the Imam on his arrival in Khurasan. But the Imam (AS) thwarted all his hypocritical moves with the God-gifted politics. Subsequently, Al-Ma’mun had no choice but to plan to kill Imam (AS), which led to the historic shame and failure to him.
