Another recording made during a weekend DX Camp at a cottage in Coe Hill (near Bancroft), Ontario, Canada, The Voice of Mongolia on 12085 Khz at 1230 hours UTC.  Date of recording was November 1, 1998 and I was using a Panasonic RF-3100 portable receiver hooked up to a very long wire antenna. Lots of flutter on the signal since it travelled through the northern polar region to get here. A bar of their interval signal is heard at first.

Prior to the big rush of stations to the newly expanded AM broadcast band, this recording was made in Coe Hill, Ontario, Canada of WDKW "The Klaw", operating on 1630 kHz with a power of  just 20 watts from Dundalk High School near Baltimore, Maryland. Audio recording made on cassette tape over 50 years ago. Station identification from La Voix du Zaire in Kinshasa on 15245 kHz. Used direct mike to speaker so quality suffers a bit.

Radio Difusora do Maranhao in Sao Luiz on 4755 khz sometime in 1970 recorded signing off for the day.  Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head is being played just prior to closing announcements. Lots of interference (QRM) from other stations.

Radio Metallica Worldwide was a very powerful pirate shortwave broadcaster in the late 1990's. Usually received very well here in Southern Ontario. This recording was in AM mode on 6955 kHz. Their usual sign off featured the song Secret Agent Man.
