north and south korea said to resume tomorrow. now north korean state media trying to drive a wedge between washington and seoul. for the latest, will ripley live in seoul. what do we know about these conversations? h. >> reporter: it's really extraordinary. we're going to see something we haven't seen on more than two years. a group will walk across the military demarcation line that separates the north and south. on the agenda at least for starters, the olympics, getting north korean delegation here for the winter games. obviously the advantage for that for north korea is that their athletes can compete after actually missing a key deadline last year. but from the south korean perspective it's less likely to have a missile launch. extraordinary important for this

country. and for the whole world. north korean state media over the weekend criticizing president trump saying these talks are between the two koreas, that outside interference would only be a distraction, clearly an attempt to try to drive a wedge between washington and seoul even though president moon and trump did speak last week and president moon praised trump saying part of the reason why pyongyang has decided to give the green light to for the discussions. of course the biggest issue, north korea's nuclear program. but the two sides couldn't be par ner apart on the issue. north korea says they're only going to grow their arsenal. u.s. and allies say they must give up the nuclear weapons. it's unclear if it they're going to lead to a diplomatic break through or go back. >> both sides clearly want a

clean olympics. thanks. the bonanza companies have been waiting for for years. new tax law will create a $450 billion boom for wall street. that's in addition to the big cut in their corporate tax rate. this is separate. we're talking about mountains of money sitting overseas, apple, google, microsoft alone hold a combined $460 billion in h cash stashed abroad. new law will not only lower that rate but give u.s. companies a one-time tax break. some of that money will reward workers with better jobs and wages. you've seen some of those bonuses the companies have been handing out. but the bulk of that money will reward shareholders. analysts tell us $450 will be spent on stock buy-backs. 80% of the profits returned went to investors.

. all right. wall street hit another round of records friday. u.s. stocks matching their strongest first week in more than a decade. the president is celebrating. he tweeted the stock market has been creating tremendous benefits for our country no the form of not only record stock prices but present and future jobs, jobs, jobs. one small problem. the stock market does not itself create jobs. it measures how companies are doing and corporate profits have been great. one hopes that would spill into more jobs. trump's jobs record strong for 2017. 2 million jobs created during his first year in office. that number, a little bit shy of president obama's last year, and it is in fact the slowest growth since 2010. he promised to be the greatest job creator in history.
