the i.g.'s report found the case was plagued by 17 significant inaccuracies and omissions in surveillance warrant applications for carter page. jim baker was the top fbi lawyer when this began. given the findings, he would like to hear from the president. >> i think the president should apologize to us. i would ask him to apologize to me and my colleagues because the things he said were just wrong. he should step up and do that at a minimum. >> there were new revelations in the report. among them, pro-trump texts by fbi agents in 2016. comparing his win to a super bowl comeback. the president spent years calling out anti-trump texts by members of the bureau. and christopher steele, the former british spy who compiled a dossier on the president, told investigators it was ridiculous to think that he was biased against mr. trump. why? he had been friendly with ivanka trump.

did we learn what the two are or the one that is missing there? the omission, from an obstruction of justice, that would take us down the mueller report. >> that's right, dave. at the moment, the most likely sn scenario is that house democrats will reveal two articles of impeachment. the third article of impeachment that was under discussion, late last night, as house democrats huddled, working behind the articles of impeachment. that speaks to some of the things that robert mueller uncovered in the russia investigation. there was concern among house democrats that that could lend credence to the gop talking points. that could lead to the perception for democrats to be fishing for something to impeach on for months now. and not acting on the clear evidence they have in the ukrainian controversy. and that demonstrates the

extremely thin tightrope that nancy pelosi has been walking, navigating this scenario when you have two dozen democrats in districts that trump carried in 2016. you have progressives that believe that trump should have been impeached before this. nancy pelosi is dealing with this without losing a couple of house democrats. >> yesterday, she was at a council meeting in d.c. does she have the votes? is she counting the votes? this is what she said. on an issue like this, people just count the votes. i never asked anybody. are they going forward? never. >> people just make their voices

democrats that want to go home and say, we got this done for american workers as we're proceeding on impeachment. >> it was an amazing juxtaposition, that as you have this hearing unveiling, you saw signals there was going to be movement on usmca. there was going to be movement on government funding avoiding a shutdown. surprise medical billing, like paid family leave. we saw signals there will be a flurry of partisan activity. we could have what could be a party-line vote on impeachment. house democrats are poised to join in the bipartisan agreements. that will undercut what has become the central argument of allies and president trump calling them do-nothing democrats if they're only focused on impeachment. it's shrewd of pelosi to pursue the other things. they do give president trump a

win at a time he's vulnerable. >> yesterday, the long-awaited d.o.j. report, about the deep state, spying on the trump campaign. like everything today, sara, this was a political rorschach test. the process was littered with mistakes or it confirms there was no die ybias in starting th russian investigation. my favorite part, comparing election coverage to watching a super bowl comeback. in broad strokes, what were the takeaways from your report? >> the report did punch a hole in one of trump's top conspiracy theory. that's that the investigation was started solely to hurt his campaign. that's something that the ne inspector-general refuted. he said there's no documentary
