Nicholas Reynolds talked about his book Writer, Sailor, Soldier, Spy: Ernest Hemingway's Secret Adventures, 1935-1961 , in which he recalls novelist Ernest Hemingway's connections to the Soviet NKVD, precursor to the KGB, and the U.S. OSS, predecessor of the CIA. In his book, the author reports that Hemingway, who was a proponent of the political left, was courted by both the Soviet and the American intelligence services to conduct espionage.
