Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar testified on the president's 2020 budget request for his department before the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health. He fielded questions from committee members on a range of issues, including Medicare, opioids, short-term health insurance plans, e-cigarette use, "Medicare for All" proposals, pre-existing conditions protections, and family separations on the southern border.
