President Trump met with Russian President Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Japan. "It's a great honor to be with President Putin," said Trump, adding the two would discuss trade, disarmament and other issues. President Putin noted the two had not seen each other since the Helsinki summit in 2018. When asked by a reporter if President Trump would tell Russia not to interfere in U.S. elections, the president said: "Yes, Of course I will." He then turned to President Putin, saying: "Don't meddle in the election."
