let's turn to politics now. harry reid remains under major fire this morning for unsubstantiated claims might romney did not pay his taxes. his peers are not stepping in and defending him. >> democrats this weekend weren't defending harry reid. they are happy to keep the issue alive. the senate majority leader on the floor of the senate said this citing an unnamed source. >> the word is out he hasn't paid any taxes for 10 years. let him prove he has, because he hasn't. >> the word was out because harry reid put it out there saying an investor in romney's capital bane capital told him romney hasn't paid any taxes in a decade. romney denies that.

that would be a depression but for the president's intervention that's something governor romney opposed. the two sectors that lagged were construction and education. the president has been urging congress since last fall to pass his bill that would invigorate both those sectors and that would help. we have a lot of work to do. the real question for voters will be what is the choice on the other side? we learned governor romney's tax plan would raise taxes for the wealthy and cut taxes for the wealthy and win taxes by 2,000 dollars on the middle class. that's not a prescription for getting our economy moving or building the middle class. mitt romney hitting the president over job creation saying the country needs to see much higher growth to get the economy back on track. >> when you come out of that kind of recession we have had you should see this kind of job creation. we should be seeing 2, 3, 4,000

jobs per month to regain much of what's been lost. that's what normally happens after a session. under this president we have not seen that kind of pattern. we have been bumping along with barely enough jobs to hold the unemployment rate about the same above 8 percent. the idea of giving more money to government can't get our jobs going you have to get businesses making products that are purchased around the world. itllows us to create more and more jobs it creates demands for workers. >> they created 163,000 jobs for the month of july. unemployment rose from 8.2 percent to 8.3 percent. it is time for your first degree weather update. >> good to see you. unfortunately not expecting any
