natalee's disappearance, the arubaen police finally arrested joran van der sloot and his >> friends. >> everything went down right here at the holiday inn, right at the entrance. >> and of course, that's where joran says that he dropped her off and that she fell and hit her head. that's the first story he told. yeah. ? first yeah. first story. ? they ? they all get together and concouldn't this story, and it's a pretty basic story, we're just going to say we dropped her off at the hotel. she was really drunk, talking to a security guard who we can barely describe. and as long as we stick to that story, everything's going to be >> okay. >> we were basically making it up as we went along. we got out, and deepak said there were two security guards that saw her when she stepped out of the car and that's he told the police, and i was like, you know, that's what, now if you look back at that, you're like, i mean, that's horrible.

they got arrested and held for ten days because of this. that's really, i mean, that's something that, you know, i can't forgive myself for either. >> there's speculation that they had gotten advice from joran's father who didn't want to see his son go to prison. >> but their story quickly fell apart after surveillance footage showed they never drop natalee off that night. >> the brothers had dropped him off at a beach, and there was evidence that deepak was at home and using a computer. so at that point, joran was really hung out to dry, because he didn't have those two friends to fall back on as possible alibis for himself. and so that's when the story really started unraveling, and all different scenarios started to come up with joran. >> why did he need to lie? why was it not enough to say i
