and divide we are seeing right now. >> shepard: kristin fisher, live in washington. the final bell is ringing on wall street. the dow is up in a pretty big way, up 167 points. a "your world" with neil cavuto starts now. >> neil: the scene right now the intercontinental hotel in new york city where the president's do to address reporters any minute. he thinks he's put this entire issue to rest with the transcript of the infamous phone call with the leader of the ukraine back in july. democrats are not so sure. we are going to be getting to read from john roberts and the second also bret baier and also senator rick scott. i want to take a peek at the corner of wall and broad because you're probably wondering in the middle of this why were stocks up? they don't think anything will convict. the president will survive it. wall street is not red or blue. it's just green. they love money and making lots of money and they think this president is the surest ticket to continue that they don't want

that disruptive. that was there read. what is john roberts' read? >> good afternoon, neil. the president has taken a lot of questions most recently sitting together with volodymyr zelensky, president of ukraine. the president will take more questions. one of the big questions i think on my mind at least is will the president declassify the whistle-blower complaint which we are told is now on capitol hill. several members of congress have already looked at it. ironic when you think about the whistle-blower complaint as it was described as thirdhand knowledge potentially also involving some open sourced material like news articles. people who have actually read the transcript of the call that was released earlier today may know more than the whistle-blower did when that person actually filed the complaint with the intelligence community inspector general. in the bilateral meeting together with president zelensky, president trump and zelensky both agreed that there was no

pressure put on the ukrainian president to investigate anything. the scent to how zelensky put it and then the president. >> i think you read everything. so i think you read text. i'm sorry, but i don't want to be involved to democratic often... elections. you read that nobody pushed it. pushed me. >> president trump: in other words, no pressure. >> neil, take a look at how far we are today away from where we were earlier this week and even yesterday when we had been led to understand that the president pushed zelensky about eight times to investigate joe biden and his son hunter. there is three citations contained in the transcript of the president mentioning i will get rudy giuliani at attorney general barr to call you about these investigations. and then yesterday the lead story all day was was

president trump holding back some $391 million in legal, military, and other aid to ukraine if zelensky didn't open an investigation into joe biden? now we are learning that the one piece of military hardware, the javelin shoulder fired missile, was not even part of the $250 million in lethal military aid the president was holding back. there appears to be at least on the surface no overt quid pro quo but that didn't matter. house intelligence committee chairman adam schiff who said this earlier today. >> there is no quid pro quo necessary to betray your country or your oath of office. even though many read this as a quid pro quo. i'm not concerned whether it is a quid pro quo or not. ukraine understood what this president wanted. he made it abundantly clear. he made it redundantly clear. he had his emissaries making it clear. and ukraine needed no -- you

knew what he needed to do if it wanted to assistance. >> when you look at the transcript, it's clear there's two investigations president trump is interested in. one is an investigation of what happened with ukraine and the 2016 election and allegations that the then ukrainian government was helping hillary clinton get elected. what about the involvement of a company called crowd strike which investigated the hack of the dnc server and pointed fingers at russia. what else do we know about that? and then there was the investigation into joe and hunter biden that the president mentioned to zelensky. you can understand that the president wants to get to the bottom of what happened in 2016 because he's still incensed about this idea that he didn't win fair and square but i think one of the questions to ask the president this afternoon in addition to whether not he will declassify the whistle-blower complaint is why did he ever asked zelensky about biden? >> neil: thank you very, very

much. the whistle-blower complaint really at the center of this hall is to be released to the house intelligence committee later this hour. what can we expect from that western mark the host of "special report," bret baier. it accelerates and accelerates. >> it's amazing and it won't stop. it's the beginning, the beginning of the beginning not the end of the beginning and i think you heard adam schiff. he put words in the ukrainian president's mouth and then we heard from ukrainian president. >> neil: what is the ruling on a high crime or misdemeanor without a quid pro quo outside of trying to get them to get some information on the bidens. is it impeachable? >> bret: they can call it an abuse of power, that the president they would allege, try to talk to a foreign leader to get them to investigate a political opponent and they can use that to make a case for high crimes and misdemeanors. currently the house does not have the votes, and that's why there's not about moving forward formally.

but to john's point -- >> neil: they are getting close. >> bret: they are at about 200. they are getting closer. to john's point, a lot of what we knew coming into today before we saw the transcript, the reporting was off. eight times. at most you could make maybe four or five times in the transcript. the holding back specifically of the money. today you had "the washington post" move a story that the acting director of national intelligence threatened to resign if he wasn't allowed to testify freely. 2 minutes later, he puts out a statement saying at no time have i ever consider resigning my position since assuming this role on august 16, 2019. i've never quit anything in my life and i'm not going to start now. my point is we are in the same boat as we were at the beginning of the russian investigation where stories and things that are said, instead of facts, are being looked at first. we all should take a pause and look at what we are seeing in front of us. >> neil: do we know that this

transcript of this conversation, is the only transcript of the only conversation? could there be other conversations where this aid did come up? >> bret: we don't know. it seems like they are referencing another call. it may be one before this. one would assume just going to be a request for that transcript as well. there's all this talk about is it really a legitimate transcript. two cia officers in the situation room transcribed this. the officials said this is as accurate as it can be. >> bret: i am -- >> neil: i'm not a lawyer but i watch a lot of legal shows. one thing that i was interested in reading, the president referring to the biden situation, there's a lot of talk about biden's son, that biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out whatsoever you can do with the attorney general, referring to bill barr. that would be great. biden went around breaking that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it, it sounds

horrible to me. again, i don't know, high crime and misdemeanor but this is a president engaging a foreign power to insert himself in an election. democrats aren't going to let go of it. >> bret: never, no. they think this transcript is worse than they expected it to be. you have statements that they can't believe they put the transcript out. republicans looking at the same transcript say where is the "there" there? >> neil: it is that i am dangling something over you that you might not get if you don't satisfy it. >> bret: that's why adam schiff says you don't need a quid pro quo. some republicans like mitt romney say he's deeply troubled. susan collins has it raises serious questions. there's a few others who have not. largely republicans are holding the line. >> neil: let's say those senators will say it they think it's impeachable. you need two-thirds of the

senate. >> bret: that's the political process. you get over that hurdle in the house. in order to convict, you need is senate and you don't have the votes there. so as you look politically, what's the next moment? the next moment is the election. if democrats -- it's a tight rope. they have to convince america that this is the right move right now based on what they are seeing that transcript. >> neil: or they are not getting overzealous. it's happened in the past for both parties. >> bret: we have seen what's happened as a result. >> neil: great seeing you. let's get the read from rick scott. senator, what do you think of what brett was outlining? where do you think it's going? >> first of all, we have to get the facts we have to do it in a methodical manner. chairman richard burr who runs intelligence committee and the senate, he is reviewing exactly what happened he will come out with information.

he is a responsible senator wants to do the right thing. we do need to understand what joe biden did. we need to understand exactly what -- we know that he bragged about getting the prosecutor fired. let's get the facts out. then we can make a decision. the democrats, if trump changes shoes, it must be an impeachable offense. every day it is in ph. in the meantime, we are not passing a budget. the fiscal year ends in a few days and we don't have a budget. they don't care about it. how do you relitigate who won back in 20. trump won. there is an election in 2020. go to work to try to win back the next election. >> neil: were you surprised regardless of the legality or for lack of a better term the constitutionality of it where the president of the united states is talking to a leader of a foreign power about inserting himself into another u.s. presidential election. does that on any level bother you?

>> does everybody including president trump, do they ask questions i don't ask? do they focus on things i don't focus on? that's not the issue. the issue is is it in impeachable offense and should we go back and do the work that american citizen sent us to d.c. to do? pass a budget, do a prescription drug package. it makes no sense. this place is completely dysfunctional. nobody wants to get anything done up here. they hate president trump so let's figure out how to impeach the guy. >> neil: he didn't help his cause by getting on the standard with a leader of another countr country. >> i am going to focus on results. look at the economy. he's engaging in deals that president obama sat there and did nothing. north korea, china. the horrible iran deal. look at people in european countries investing in nato. let's look at what we should care about and quit, wire the

democrats -- they hate the guy. everything is about they hate donald trump. go with the next election if you hate him so much. >> neil: it's a good point but two of your republican colleagues, susan collins and mitt romney are concerned about it. are you concerned about it? speak with the way i look at it is before you start engaging in what somebody did, let's get the facts and then tell me what the law is. no one so far has ever said to me this is -- i can read a statute or read the history and this is what the guy did wrong. no one. >> neil: i was mentioning the markets earlier and they were up on the belief, a relief rally, when something they fear happening doesn't look at least today to be happening. do you agree with it that this will ultimately fade away? back to some of these issues

that you care about. or they did everyone hyperventilate sonnet up to the election? >> if this one fades away, democrats are going to focus on something else. they are not stopping. they believe for whatever reason that impeaching donald trump is good political fodder. what i've been up here for nine months, people don't want to solve problems up here. they want to run the next race. the markets want to focus on something, they ought to focus on what happens if iran is able to shut down oil production in saudi arabia. then what happens? that's what they are to focus on because that's the biggest international issue we should be dealing with, not because president trump had a conversation with a ukrainian leader. >> neil: apparently the ukrainian president is on the wires thinking only the u.s. side of the trump call will be published. it was a little surprising that his comments on and what he was saying would also be included.

he was a little surprised at that. are you surprised that he got caught up in it to the degree where people in his country are saying year are caught in the juicy tidbit. >> absolutely. if you look at what the democrats are doing, they're going to make it very difficult for any president to interact in foreign policy because i guess in the future every conversation, no one can have a candid conversation. and have a discussion because somebody will say somebody did something wrong and then we will have an investigation. i'm fascinated up here. i've been here nine months. i'm fascinated they don't want to solve problems appear. >> neil: you are getting a baptism by fire. rick scott of florida. democrats still pushing impeachment and they think they've got more than enough smoking guns. the president about to answer reporters' questions as to whether they do.

>> neil: republicans have been saying no smoking gun, move on. democrats doubling down saying an impeachment inquiry is necessary. the transcript from the president's conversations with the ukrainian president confirm it. catherine herridge has the latest. >> good afternoon. in the last hour, we received a statement from the acting director of national intelligence, joe maguire, he is the intelligence chief who is scheduled to testify publicly tomorrow and he is denying published reports that he threatened to resign if he could not be forthcoming with lawmakers tomorrow. that statement reads "at no time have i considered resigning my position since assuming this role on august 16, 2019. i've never quit anything in my life and i'm not going to start now. i'm committed to leading the intelligence community to address the diverse and complex threats facing our nation." a number of key sections of the transcript will be at the heart

of maguire's testimony tomorrow. having reviewed the transcripts 10 minutes in, the president has two requests for the ukrainian president. one has to do with a firm called crowd strike, a cybersecurity forensics firm that did the review of the hacked servers with the dnc and the dccc of my memory serves me correctly. if you follow me for one second, remember the fbi did not physically review the evidence in that hack. they relied on the assessment of crowd strike. the president states "i would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and ukraine knows a lot about it. i would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with ukraine. they say crowd strike, i guess you have one of your wealthy people... the server, they say ukraine has it." the second part of the series of requests, if you will come about joe biden and his son. "there's a lot of talk about

biden's son that biden stopped the prosecution a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the attorney general would be great. biden went about breaking that he stopped prosecution so if you can look into it, it sounds horrible to me." the big testimony tomorrow -- i'm sorry, control room, repeat that? i will send it back to you, nei neil. >> neil: you are fast on your feet. i will give you that. lots of legal questions. let's get a read from george washington university law professor, john. good to have you. is it an impeachable offense if there is no clear quid pro quo. it seems unseemly for president of the united states to talk to a leader about another country to get dirt on a possible opponent but i'm told not impeachable, not a high crime and misdemeanor. what do you say? >> technically anything the house says is a high crime or

misdemeanor would make it impeachable. i can look at it from a legal point of view and say that if he requested something of value and or receive something of value, then that would be a crime. it would be a violation of the election laws and a thing of value is a very broad term. i have seen cases where somebody got a date. somebody got publicity. somebody offered to introduce you to someone for example, it might not be a thing of value to me but the hundreds of people it might be a thing of value. in this case, dirt on a political opponent might be a thing of value. the problem is whether or not it really was a quid pro quo and one way to look at it would be to take a common example. somebody calls up a restaurant and says are supplying you with liquor and i've stopped the shipments. oh, could you do me a favor and fire the waiter? the worst civil case, they would find yeah. if it was a criminal case, probably not because he does not prove beyond a reasonable doubt.

have, richard nixon, the economy was in shambles. stagnation, oil price shock. the market reaction is hard to separate from what was going on. the exact opposite happened with bill clinton. 1998, 1999. the economy was booming. we were in a dot-com boom and everything was going great. at that point, the market didn't have time to have a reaction in either situation. the same thing is happening right now. i think the consensus is if it gets through the house and goes to the senate the math is too hard to get it out of the senate and have a conviction. >> neil: you reminded me, wall street seems to be a conservative bastion but what it likes is making money. they made a lot of it with this president, as they did with bill clinton. he gets nervous when there's a possibility he could get disrupted. is there any chance of this gained steam that they start reassessing what they did today and buy. or sell. >> it's a great question.

this can cause some legislative paralysis and not that we've had a lot of bipartisan legislation has gone through this year, but think about some of the things like to see. infrastructure is probably dead for a while. usmca is probably dead for a while. drug price controls are going to be dead for a while. we're going to have a logjam in congress and that's understandable but it's not as bothersome as perhaps this puts off our ability to get the u.s.-china trade deal done. there's math on both sides but you would think it perhaps empowers china to wait out this negotiation. that is something that the market focuses on a lot. that's probably the one concern the market has is what happens now and then negotiating process. >> neil: art hogan, thank you very much, my friend. and now the president of the united states. >> president trump: i want to think the secretary general. it's been really incredible what's been taking place. he's been a fantastic host to a lot of countries.

the meetings i had on up bilateral were pretty staggering. i think we set a new record but you'll have to check it out. we met for extended periods of time, either 212, one-on-one, or just about at that level. with pakistan, poland, new zealand, singapore egypt, south korea, united kingdom, india, iraq, argentina, germany, brazil, france, japan, ukraine, honduras, el salvador, saudi arabia, jordan, bahrain, kuwait, qatar, oman, uae, chile,

colombia, ecuador and peru. other than that, weren't too busy over the last three days. unfortunately the press doesn't even cover it. we have made some fantastic deals like with japan for farmers. we have a tremendous trade deal with japan. that doesn't get covered because you waste your time on nonsense. the pmi manufacturers index has gone substantially up which was an incredible. larry kudlow, wherever you may be, larry, please stand up. just gave me these numbers. existing new-home sales are through the roof, just came out. oil prices have gone down ever since the saudi arabia incident and they have gone down very substantially so we have plenty of oil. but those numbers were surprising. the extent of the increases. is that correct? thank you, larry kudlow.

i think will make this little announcement to you because important, you know the so-called whistle-blower, the one that didn't have any first-class or first-rate or second-tier information, from what i understand. you'll have to figure that out for yourself. i've spoken with leader kevin mccarthy and the republicans, many of them. we were going to do this anyway, but i've informed them, all of the house members, that i fully support transparency on the so-called whistle-blower information even though it was supposedly secondhand information. which is sort of interesting. and other things have come out about the whistle-blower that are also may be even more interesting. but also insist on transparency

from joe biden and his son hunter on the millions of dollars that have been quickly and easily taken out of ukraine and china. millions of dollars, millions and millions and dollars taken out very rapidly while he was vice president. i think they should have transparency for that. i've informed the leader about that and additionally i demand transparency from democrats who went to ukraine and attempted to force the new president who i met and is an outstanding person, just met a little while ago. some of you were there. i think he's going to be outstanding. got elected on the basis of corruption. he wants to end corruption in ukraine. i think that's great. they went there and they wanted to force the new president to do things that they wanted under the form of political threat. they threatened him if he didn't do things.

now that's what they are accusing me up but i didn't do it. i didn't threaten anybody. in fact the press was asking questions of the president of ukraine and he said no pressure. i used the word pressure. i think he use the word push but he meant pressure but it's the same thing. no push, no pressure, no nothing. it's all a hoax, folks. it's wholly big hoax. the sad thing about this hoax is we worked so hard with all of these countries, i mean really hard. i've been up from early in the morning until late in the evening. meeting with different countries all for the good of our country, and the press doesn't even cover all of it. it's really disappointing also to those countries that are with us and spend so much time with us, so we want transparency and we have informed kevin mccarthy about transparency and we said vote for it. i think you have close to 100% of the republican votes, i hope.

they got almost no attention but in may, cnn reported that senators robert menendez, richard derman, and patrick leigh he wrote a letter to you cain's prosecutor general expressing concern at the closing of four investigations that were critical. in the letter they implied that their support for u.s. assistance to ukraine was at stake and that if they didn't do the right thing, they wouldn't get any assistance. see, doesn't that sound familiar? doesn't that sound familiar? chris murphy who i've been dealing with handguns, you know, so nice. we want to work it out. we want to work it out. they are so busy wasting their time on the witch hunt. senator chris murphy literally threatened a the president of ukraine that if he doesn't do

things right, they won't have democrats support in congress. you know, you're going to look all of this up. one other thing, just going off certain notes and elements of what we been doing over the last three days but this just came up a few minutes ago. the amazon "washington post" just put out a fake article that acting director of national intelligence joseph maguire, who i have gotten to know and he's a tough cookie and i was surprised. i was shocked to hear this. was going to quit. blaming the white house for something that they wouldn't let him talk openly, freely. i was shocked because i know joe and he's tough. tough guy. i was really surprised to hear he was going to quit. before i could even talk to him or talk to anybody else, he put out a statement. i didn't speak to joe yet.

but he said at no time have i considered resigning my position, in other words the story in "the washington post" was a fake. at no time have i considered resigning my position, since assuming this role on august 16, 2019. i have never quit anything in my life and i'm not going to start now. i'm committed to leading the intelligence community to address the diverse and complex threats facing our nation. that is from the acting director of national intelligence, a very good man, joseph maguire. so we're having a great period of time. our country is the strongest at their event economically. our numbers are phenomenal. wilbur, thank you. larry, everybody. the numbers are phenomenal. our economy is the strongest of the world. we are the largest economy in the world. had my opponent won, we would be second right now because china was catching us so rapidly we would be second by this time.

unless somebody does a very poor job as president, we are going to be first for a long way because we picked up trillions and trillions of dollars in value and worth for our country, and china has lost trillions and of dollars. and millions of jobs. and their supply chain. and they want to make a deal. this year, america came to the united nations stronger than we have ever been before since my election, the united states has not only brought our economy tol that we have ever seen, the most jobs that we've ever had to, you know you've heard me say it many times. african-american, asian american, hispanic-american, the best unemployment numbers we've ever had. and the most and best employment numbers. 116 million, very close to that

number in jobs. we've never been anywhere close. wages are up. inequalities down. something that people don't like writing about but wages are up. i used to speak during the campaign and i would talk about wages and people are making less money three years ago than they were making 21 years ago, 22 years ago they would have two jobs and three jobs. when i say three years ago, i'm talking into the area sometime prior to the election. they were doing it very badly and now for the first time in many years wages are up and employment is up and unemployment is down. it's a beautiful thing to watch. in a week of active and ambitious diplomacy here at the united nations, america renewed our friendships. we advance our value is greatly and made clear to everyone that the united states will always

defend our citizens, to promote prosperity. i met with prime minister boris johnson at length of the united kingdom, continuing our discussion on your magnificent new bilateral trade deal. so we'll see what happens with respect to brexit. i suspect we'll have a fantastic deal with the u.k. it should be much bigger than it has been over the last number of years, over the last 20 years frankly. it should be much bigger deal. that's true with many countries. we are going to have much bigger trade deals with a lot of countries that have an opportunity to come and they all want to do business with the united states, especially now. earlier today i stood alongside prime minister abe of japan, a friend of mine, great gentleman, had a great reelection. we signed a terrific new trade deal which tremendously helps our farmers and ranchers and

technology. the technology companies are really big beneficiaries. we also held a very productive conversations with leaders of pakistan, india, and many other nations on achieving stronger ties of fair and reciprocal trade and with respect to pakistan and india, we talked about kashmir, whether it is arbitration or mediation or whatever it is, i will do whatever i can because they are at serious odds and hopefully will get better. you look at the gentleman heading those countries, two good friends of mine. i said fellas, work it out. just work it out. those are two nuclear countries. they've got a it out. this week we also made incredible strides on national security with president duda of poland.

crucially poland has agreed to put up 100% of the money, something i don't think you've ever heard said before. they're going to put up 100% of the money of hosting additional u.s. military personnel that will be taking from various other countries. we want to have more. we will be moving them around -- we won't have more. poland is building phenomenal facilities. and they are going to really do a job. we will be moving a few thousand soldiers, and poland will be paying for it. together with prime minister old singapore signed -- the defense cooperation hasn't been changed in many years and yesterday i met with prospective members of the middle east strategic alliance which is a group that i know very well. i know all of them. through this effort, the nations in the middle east are taking

more responsibility for securing their own future and their own neighborhood. they are also reimbursing us and paying us for a lot of the military work that we incredibly do. but because we are now independent energy wise, we are energy independent. we have very few boats going to the middle east. we would have them going all the time and you probably noticed that every once in a while bigger after somebody else's. they haven't gone after us yet. if they do, they will have problems. they were saying the other day they've never attacked an american boat i'm not asking for trouble but if they do, they know they have far bigger trouble. but then they said but you know we don't see very many american boats over here anymore. this week also brought extraordinary progress to

nations of our own hemisphere. in recent days, we have achieved historic asylum cooperation agreements with el salvador, guatemala, and hundreds. we were with el salvador today. great young gentleman became the president. he is strong and tough. he's taking care of crime. he was really something today. i was very impressed with him. likewise with honduras, we met. we signed a cooperation agreement with both and also with guatemala. we are working with our partners in central america to ensure that asylum-seekers can pursue relief as close to their home countries as possible. that will make a tremendous difference in our southern border. and mexico all i have to say, president lopez over door -- obrador has been an outstanding partner. done a great job in mexico.

the cartels are way down. the numbers are secretaries here now, the numbers are way down. we way down. and we are doing that without the help of congress, meaning the democrats in congress who won't give us a single vote to take care of loopholes. we have loopholes that are so horrible it would be so easy to fix and they know they should be fixed but they don't want to do it because they don't want to give trump any credit. because it's all about the election. that's all they care about. they don't care about the country. they care about the election. the sad part is with all the tremendous work we've done this week, whether it's secretary mnuchin or secretary pompeo who had some outstanding, outstanding meetings, office tremendous work we've done, the press doesn't even cover it. and the democrats did this hoax during the united nations week. it was perfect because this way it takes away from this tremendous achievements that we

get people in drugs over those walls because they are the real deal. i went to the secretary of homeland security and he got all those people together. i said give me four walls. your optimum, everything nothing included. they gave me 20% less, 20% less, and 20% less, meaning less cost. they came back and they said this is the wall, sir. this would be the best. we have the panels on top which are anti-klein panels. i don't know if you noticed. the steel on top. we have a different design for a different area but anti-climb is very tough. we had people going out, real climbers telling us it's the toughest to climb but these are anti-klein panels, very tough to get across. the wall is going up. many miles a week. and we hope to have over 400 but may be as much is 5 miles which will pretty much do it because you have a lot of natural

nobody even knew about it. we sent them hundreds of millions of dollars, and all we got back was caravans of people pouring in. we had tremendous, we had tremendous. it was terrible. and we've got that stopped and the countries are now helping us and we stop those payments, by the way. we don't pay those countries that money anymore. but i will tell you they are really doing a job, stopping the wrong people from leaving and coming to the united states. we will be helping them a lot with economic developing projects and other things. so with that, we had a tremendous three days. it was beautiful to see. made a lot of new friends. i read you a list of all the countries that i saw, pretty much one-on-one. and it's been very busy but it's been very, very fruitful. so we could take a couple of questions. i'd love some questions on some of the things that we

just came out recently and so many other books. a lot of books are coming out. we start reading those books, you see what they did to us. what they've done to this country is a disgrace. they have hurt this country very badly and no other president should have to go through what i've gone through. the president, the new president of ukraine is looking to stop corruption. there's a lot of corruption going on and there was corruption -- i just told you about senators that threatened him with votes and no money coming in to ukraine. that's really what people are trying to say that i did but the only difference is i didn't do it. you take a look at that call. it was perfect. i didn't know it. there was no quid pro quo. but there was with biden then there was with the senators. they threatened. they said you do this, you do that. we are not going to give you votes. that's the real deal. so we have an honest group of people that have been maligned

and, you know, a lot of people say i'll do even better. very happy yesterday because we had a poll and people say add ten points to anything anybody voting for trump, you can add, anytime you add -- you can add seven or six points, take it anyway you want. i don't know if i consider that to be a compliment but in one way it is a compliment and i guess that's what happened in the last election. far more people came to vote than anybody thought possible. >> reporter: wash of the american people feel comfortable to an american president asking a foreign leader for information about american citizens? >> president trump: you can look at your senators knew, could biden then you can look at all these other people. but we are looking for is corruption. an investigation started called the russian witch hunt, affectionately. it was a total phony scam. it was set up by people within the government to try to stop somebody from getting elected, and after that person, namely

me, won and convincingly won at 306-223 in the electoral college which by the way when you run a race if you're running -- if you go by the college, electoral college, that's a much different race then running popular vote. it's like the hundred-yard dash or the mile. you treat differently. i can't help it that my opponent didn't go to wisconsin and should have gone much more that meant to her michigan and pennsylvania and other places but that's the way it is. we won and election convincingly and then you had the text message on well, if she doesn't win, we've got an insurance policy. how bad was that? you know the insurance policy, that sort of what's been taking place over the last number of years, the insurance policy. there are a lot of very dishonest people. we are the ones who played it straight and the millions of people out there that are looking at what's going on, those people understand.

they see it and then they think it's disgusting. our people are being hurt in her countries being hurt when a nancy pelosi allows for a position be taken over by a radical far left socialists or worse, that's pretty bad. it's pretty bad. especially when the senators and all these other people have actually done what they are accusing me of doing which i didn't do. i'm going to have mike pompeo say couple words and they will have steve nguyen said a couple words and then we'll do a couple more questions. >> mr. president i thought i would start by talking about iran. we had a productive week. we saw the europeans take a position with respect to the attacks that took place in saudi arabia, making it clear it was iran, just as president trump and i have been saying that the existing framework is not going to work. it's not going to create

middle east ability. we had a good set of meetings with our middle east allies. the president joined a meeting of the gcc where we talked again about how we can help deter -- we want peace and we want a peaceful resolution with the islamic republic of iran and we are hoping we can get it. in the end, it will be up to the iranians to make that decision whether they choose violence and hate. the president said yesterday to the general assembly, if their blood thirst will continue. we hope we can get the opportunity to negotiate with them and get an outcome that's good for them, for the united states to make sure they never have a nuclear weapon and that they can't foment their terror with ballistic missiles the way they have all around the world and i think we made real progress uniting the world on that here over the past few days. thank you. >> as secretary pompeo said on iran, we had very good discussions with all the allies about the sanctions program which is the maximum pressure and unity on the sanctions
