do you do new year's resolutions? >> sean: on vacation i try to center myself, find god, and then get my creative juices flowing. and i already know where i am heading. i know next year is the biggest, most important midterm election year in our lives, and i'm going to be focused like a laser beam. >> laura: welcome to center yourself and find god. you seem like one of those posters that are corporate walls. it's so perfect. i'm just going to have a margarita and go to mass and call it a day. that's we are all doing in our mass make our household. >> sean: have some vodka and call it a day as well. >> laura: entity, we will miss you and i will -- happy new year. thanks so much. i am laura ingraham, this is "the ingraham angle." from washington, a group of anti-mandate protesters try to eat at applebee's peer they were met with a group of cops that probably could have stopped last
summer's rights. one of those arrested is here tonight with all the details. plus, we're going to bring you in an grammatical investigation. afghan migrants being kept in swanky hotels in the surrounding community have no clue about it. tonight, we are going to take you to bethesda, maryland, for and expose it you cannot miss. but first, the reset they need. that is the focus of tonight's angle. it has been a blue holiday season for democrats in washington. every poll has biden cratering. there is intraparty finger-pointing over their stalled agenda, and the nation is saying we are done with covid. and in a major blow, for monroe chad pergram, the senate parliamentarian ruled that the senate -- out of order for build back better. they are not kosher at all. and that is not all. today, biden formally pulled the plug on his social spending bill for the year.
well, this is what happens. this is the chaos that ensues when you nominate a man as president who doesn't have the stamina or the mental capacity to carry out the job. as things stand now, joe biden, at home and abroad, can really persuade anyone of anything. it's kind of a big problem, don't you think? at this point, democrats know they are going to get wiped out next year, and the thought of being in the minority with biden in the white house, it is frankly too much for a lot of them to take. just today, californian congressman alan lowenthal, a democrat, announced his retirement item midterm. joining 19 other democrats who are also not returning. frankly, i don't blame them. but we are the party of the young, democrats love to say. we are the future. can. conservatives are so boring. it turns out the young people actually value results and incompetence is pretty cool after all.
since january, biden's approval among adults under 30 has fallen 50 points. today, only 29% of that group approved of the job biden is doing. oh, my goodness. and it's not just the young people who are fleeing biden. his underwater and other key demographics as well. women, minus work with them. college grads, minus 3.4, and for the big one, independence, biden is almost 32 points underwater. among hispanics, he dropped from a positive 34.728 poultry -- and that approval rating. this is just a nightmare of a scenario. for the president and his party but for the current domain country as well. sure it on the republicans are going to flourish in the short term with biden floundering, but ultimately, we will all be better off if we had two
functioning sain parties in america. thus, in the holiday spirit, i'm going to offer biden and the hail democrat some important advice tonight. not that this year is basically shot, you need a complete reset in 2022. it is time to move beyond covid, sideline fauci, and start working with real republicans. that means not liz cheney and adam kinzinger. on issues like the border, coping, and crime. let's take the inflation issue. you know it is bad. it is going to get worse when liberal economist paul, a guru for the left, had to do a 180, writing "team transitory" myself included, that we are looking at a temporary blip. so far, warnings about inflation have proven right. while team transitory's predictions that inflation would quickly fade have been wrong. at least he admitted it.
inflation, simply put, is a massive tax on every american. and felt motor cutely by those who can least afford it. the report found that the average u.s. household will of been forced to shell out $3500 per more in the past year in order to have the same standard of living that they had before. lower income families will spend a staggering 7% more. democrats need to stop trying to shove a round peg into a square hole with the build back better fiasco. it needs to be shelved permanently. giving these inflation numbers on the national debt, you just can't do it. it is time to start cutting spending, not increasing it. inflation is the number one issue for most americans today, and as long as the democrats think they can spend their way out of the problem, they will just continue to lose. now on covid, as we have tried
to warn biden in the past, the american people have just had it. they are tired of covid, tired of talking about covid, hearing about it, changing their lives for appeared according to this, almost 70% surveyed do not want more mandates or restrictions, even with omicron. no matter how much hyperventilation they hear on tv, they are done. but listen to the grim reaper earlier today. >> for unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death. unvaccinated. for themselves, their families, and the hospitals that will soon overwhelm. >> laura: and a partridge in a pear tree. again, totally dismissing any protection from natural immunity that the previously infected already have. always emphasizing the negatives. that is always what they do. talk about a losing strategy with the voters. to the fact is, a lot of people have gone the vaccine. over 57 million have also gotten
boosted. that number is going to increase. but still, we know this as well, that are around the shows us that the double vaccination in the boosted people aren't immune from infection. they are still getting into. a virus is going to virus, as we say, and early treatment and protecting the vulnerable is where biden's focus should not be. even former lockdown lever herself, gretchen witmer is nixing mandates for state employees now. and this is where biden needs to be heading. all mandates need to be drops nationwide. if people want to wear masks on plane, go at it. if they don't, don't penalize them. if they have objections to the vaccine, they shouldn't be forced to get it, and they shouldn't be cut off from daily life were treated like pariahs. the facts to people can spread the virus too, as we now all know. colorado governor has finally realized all this, and he
basically declared the covid emergency over. and as bad as biden is doing on inflation and covid, he is doing, if you can believe it or not, even worse on the crime issue. the latest abc poll found that only a little more than one in three americans, 36%, proof of biden's handling on crime, down from 43% and just late october. after the george floyd rights, biden is activist based proposed the most idiotic ideas ever. defunding the police. all of president claimed he was just reforms and not defunding, the public saw his party joined at the head with the blm crowd. as this trickle down the biden and now has helped fuel the blistering increase in crime across america. murder is up all over the country, even in cities like milwaukee, which has said homicide records two years in a row now.
and as smash and grab scenes we have seen play out over and over again on tv represent real losses for real people. perhaps this will mean if things don't turn around soon, the end of read forever in urban america. and it is so bad that far left mayor london breed in san francisco took a hard turn right yesterday. >> and it is time that the rain of criminals who are destroying our city, it is time for it to to come to an end. that it comes to an end when we take the steps to be more aggressive with law enforcement. more aggressive with the changes in our policies. and less tolerant of all the [bleep] that has destroyed our city. >> laura: that sounds like donald trump. right? that sounds like any conservative who has been talking about this issue for the last couple of years. but of course, the propagandist that seen in our pretending that this represents no about-face
whatsoever. >> she is right. it is what we have saying during the pandemic, about the right rg crime. i think people need to stop listening to the people quick on all the way far left and we want to defund the police and all these belt reformist. >> laura: i must've missed all of those shows. there were dozens and none of them that were crying to defund the police efforts. but nonetheless, it's obvious, the regime media that has realized that following the far left means getting blown into political oblivion. none of it is working. as rudy giuliani told us tickets to go, the only way to stop crime is to crack down on crime. similarly, the only way to control the border is to crack down on illegal crossings. that issue is killing biden. a new fox business poll has him 23 points underwater on the immigration issue, and the number is only going to get
worse now that illegal crossings are on the rise again. >> log groups of migrant families cross illegally into the u.s. in the walk to border patrol to give themselves. an immigration crisis that was once described as seasonal by the biden administration back in the spring as shown no signs of slowing in the middle of december. >> laura: okay. they arrested more than 173,600 individuals at the u.s.-mexico border in just the month of november. more than double the number from november 2020. this is infuriating and it's exactly why the open border radicals and his own party once, a borderless world. the only sane thing that's happened at our border is the reinstatement of trump's remain in mexico policy, and that was only because the court ordered biden to do it. everything else has been a travesty. but of course, the nonfox media
has refused to properly cover the issue, focusing almost solely on the humanitarian aspects of the crisis. forget crime, forget the cartels getting enriched, human smuggling, drug trafficking, human wages being cut as a result of a lot of new workers, and forget the fact the public school classrooms are being overcrowded. so when will biden wake up? does anyone on his staff that the heavily expended border towns are turning red? henry cuellar is one of the few democrats actually sounding the alarm. >> the latinas in south texas, and i've been in some of those counties the last couple of days, has said, they know what they have heard, they want the border security. >> laura: unless biden orders them to change course at her border and returned to trump
policies that worked, the border will not ever be secured, and that is just the way alejandra my orchids, the secretary likes it. but at least we have a borders are. i know that is what you are saying. and thank god for kamala harris being on the case, resting all those people down there and addressing all those root causes. >> vice president harris still in charge of addressing the root causes of migration from el salvador, honduras, and guatemala? >> she just announced a commitment that she is announcing this afternoon. >> why is it that she has not spoken to the prison of guatemala since june? in six months. >> i'd see dominic did see this kind of strange report from the president of guatemala saying that he has had no contact with the white house, which is inaccurate. >> laura: no. no contact with kamala harris, but nice try, jen psaki. it doesn't take a political genius to realize that biden and his party need to complete and
total reset in 2022. he talks a lot, doesn't he come about working class roots. it is time to push policies that actually help the working class. symbolism alone, spin from jen psaki, fluffy profiles by the regime media, none of it will, only real substantive change, real move to the middle. he won. the squad and some of those hard left activists that have driven him into this stage, but this reset must be done. otherwise, the great white out of 2022 will said his party back a decade and deeply arm the country that he professes to love so deeply. and that is the angle. joining me now is florida senator rick scott. chair of the national republican senatorial committee. senator, is there any indication that the democrats understand why they are in such a deep poll right now with the american
people? >> it so bad, i called the white house this week over something that was going on in cuba and they hung up on me. i said so i'm a sitting u.s. senator, you won't take a message or anything. they said, no, it is disrespectful to say that and they hung up on me. they're not listening to anybody. they will do anything about the border, they don't do anything about getting gas prices down ad food prices down, they have done nothing on the supply chai. i said i'm not going to let any nominees go through the senate until pete buttigieg and they tell us what they are doing on the supply chain creed we to call this week, they have done nothing. no problem solved. they are doing nothing on crime, nothing to stop the indoctrination of our kids. they are continuing down the path. i -- first of all, they are crazy. it's not what average americans want. is no one low income americans want. does no one any american's want
>> laura: they are losing grounds among every cheat demographic. i don't know of one demographic he hasn't lost significant ground with. we laid out some in the angle. what was tending to me is that biden seem to be suggesting today that there could be more lockdowns on the way if enough people don't get boosted. watch this. >> go get boosted if you had your first two shots. if you haven't, go get your first shot. it is time. it is past time. and we are going to protect our economic recovery if we do this. keep schools in business open if we do this. >> laura: wait, "if" we do this? if people don't get boosted, what is he suggesting there, senator? and what will the republicans in the u.s. senate do to stop any potential lockdowns or more restrictions? >> we will do everything we can. we voted this week to make sure -- last week -- voted to get rid
of the mende but the house is not going to take that up. you get tired of them saying they are going to help the poor and then hurting the poor. i grew up in a poor family. i watch my mom struggle to put food on the table. it was across my state are saying to have enough money for gas was feeding my kids? rent is going up how much? in the biden administration democrats to spend more money, cause more inflation, raise their taxes, oh, not for the rich, remember. in the latest bill, they want to give the rich in california tax break. and charity care in florida and texas and some other states. you can't make this stuff up. the reason why the republicans reject the biden agenda is because it is horrible for them. >> laura: it doesn't work, senator, i'm going to bring up something with you that i brought up with pretty much every republican senator and congressman who has been on the show.
if republicans get control of congress next year, will republicans be ready on day one with legislative act after legislative act to undo the damage that they have been doing and put forth are really pro-growth aggressive program for the middle class in this country? otherwise we are going to be an anti-biden party and without substantive results to show for it. >> i walked in with a plan to get the economy going and make sure we improve our education system, make sure we do use our crime, make sure we invested in infrastructure and environment. all these things. that's all we have to do. have to have a positive agenda go full board and get things passedded. >> laura: and mitch mcconnell is on board with this? going to be johnny on the spot? >> absolutely. going to get things done. people want to get things done paid a lot of people like me who come to washington to do
