defense attorney is trying to cast reasonable doubt on the case against his client accused in the brutal beating of giant fan bryan stow. the lawyer says he has witnesses to prove his client couldn't be involved. abc7's terry mcsweeney is live at san francisco general hospital. terry, we're hearing about the possible line-up today as well? >> reporter: that is absolutely true. 31-year-old giovanni ramirez is going to be in the line-up. his attorney says he has witnesses placing him somewhere far away from dodger stadium. the night that bryan stow was beaten. stow kept here at san francisco general in critical condition. look at the sketches of the person who may be responsible for the beating. giovanni ramirez was arrested sunday in the beating of bryan stow in the parking lot of dodger stadium following the season opener. the prosecutors met with the l.a. police department to review the case and decided

they didn't have enough to charge ramirez. ramirez's attorney says there are a number of witnesses who say he was elsewhere. also with stow in critical condition, his family filed suit against the dodgers claiming the financially strapped team was skimping on security the night of the attack. the security expert talked about it. >> the verbal altercation or physical altercation could be 30 seconds to a minute. it's how quickly the response occurs from law enforcement and security. >> so the stow family is suing the dodgers. the dodgers say they will vigorously defend themselveses in court. they say if they do win in court, they are going to take the money they get and reimburse everyone who contributed to the relief fund. everyone that is, except for barry bonds. he has put up money for a college scholarship for the stow children. he doesn't want his money back. live this san francisco general, terry mcsweeney, abc7 news. >> terry, thanks a lot. 5:04. an intense search will resume this morning near the golden gate bridge for 15-year-old danville girl

whose disappearance sparked a huge facebook effort to find the at-risk teen. abc7's amy hollyfield is live at crissy field with the latest. amy? >> reporter: they believe that she took public transportation to the golden gate bridge. so this has been the focus of their search. 15-year-old allison bayliss was last seen monday at the high school where she is a sophomore. her bicycle was found in the parking lot near the bridge at 4:45 yesterday morning. a massive search launched in the area. family friend says that alliy was feeling icelated and upset -- isolated and upset before she disappeared. her danville community has been determined to find her. turned out in huge numbers. word spread through social media. >> i heard she was missing, an i logged to facebook and invited 500 of my friends. >> her facebook page dedicated to the search has

had more than 8,000 visits. source says that her facebook page also has clues on it. that police are using that to help them in the investigation. a source says she posted an update to her page that leads police to believe she may have been intended to take her own life. live in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> thank you. 13 people died in three states after dozens of tornadoes touched down in kansas, oklahoma, and arkansas overnight. outside oklahoma city, homes were turned to rubble while others next door stood untouched. violent thunderstorms and high winds pounded kansas and texas causing evacuation of upper deck of rangers game. this came after tornado ripped through joplin, missouri, and killed 122 people. one survivor is looking for his wife who was lying next

to him when the twister struck. >> i heard her scream. then it collapsed on us. that was the end of it. >> the search continues for 1500 people still missing in missouri. back here, alameda county judge will hear further arguments whether or not to issue preliminary injunction against controversial memorial to the jonestown massacre. the plaques containing the names of those who died at jonestown will be installed at the cemetery. but a pastor who lost 27 relatives in the incident filed suit to block the further construction and take jim jones' name off the memorial. jones founded the people's temple in san francisco. then moved it to guyana where he forced hundreds of followers to commit suicide. the san jose city council is putting off

decision whether to declare fiscal emergency until next month. they are facing $115 million budget deficit, half of which will cover pension for city workers. the city council voted to explore several options to ease pension cost, including reduction in future benefit and gradual increase in retirement age. union leaders say the city proposals are illegal. they tried to fly in a state senator known for the fiery pro-labor rhetoric. >> if the mayor and city council don't do the right thing, recall every one of them. >> people are losing their job and services are reduced. >> remember in wisconsin, lawmakers voted to withdraw many collective bargaining rights for public workers. if the counsel declares a face -- council declares a fiscal state of emergency, san jose pension proposal will be on the november ballot. governor brown says state of the cal state may rely on

so the alameda oakland ferry is running. it could be an alternate. or consider bart which is reporting no delays. take a look at the map heading to san francisco. there was an early morning fatal pedestrian accident eastbound at lombard and pierce. you might find lane blocked. southbound 101, the lanes may be blocked as well. traffic is light enough to get by. kristen? >> thanks. 5:32. dozens of deadly tornadoes touched down overnight in three states. at least 13 people were killed in oklahoma, kansas and arkansas. the latest storms hit days after massive tornado tore up joplin, missouri, killing 122 people. and the search for the missing continues today. abc's john hendren has the latest. >> reporter: the new spate of twisters swept in, ravaging the landscape outside oklahoma city, killing nearly a dozen. >> this was a large tornado that come through here. >> in chicesay, some homes

were turned to rubble. as others were nearly untouched. >> the house here, we had a three-car garage. two-story, garage apartment. silo, another house. my wife's car, new car was in the garage. it's in the tree. >> the storm system continued to form twisters taking the lives of at least two people in the tiny town of denning, arkansas. violent thunderstorms and high winds pounded rural kansas and texas, evacuating the upper deck at a rangers game. in joplin, moss, it was another somber day, as the residents continued to pull survivors from the rubble. at least 122 people were killed there in the deadliest twister in the u.s. in more than 60 years. >> seeing this right now, i'm in shock. i have can't even -- it doesn't even look the same. >> search continues for 1,500 still missing. steven campbell looking for his wife tammy who was lying next to him when the tornado hit. >> i heard her scream. that's when it collapsed on

computer at home and we found directions to bart and dublin and from the embarcadero to the golden gate bridge. >> most people heard about search effort from the find alliy bayliss facebook page, which has had 11,000 hits. she was last seen monday morning. sophomore in high school. a family friend said she had been feeling upset and isolated. officials say community members who want to help, the best thing they can do is get the word out, keep spreading the message through social media. there the community so people will know -- through the community so people know to look for the girl. tonight there will be a vigil in danville at the danville congregational church at 7:00. live in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> thanks. today, the man suspected of beating bryan stow, the giants' fan attacked on opening day at the parking lot at dodger stadium will stand before a police line-up. yesterday, prosecutors met with l.a. police detectives

to review the case and decided they didn't have enough to charge 31-year-old giovanni ramirez. the suspect's attorney says there are a number of witnesses who can testify that the suspect was nowhere near dodger stadium on march 31. also yesterday, stow's family filed a lawsuit against the dodgers claiming the team skimped on security on the night of the attack. >> the lapd went in there. what is the first thing they did? they now have all the officers going to the games, off-duty officers. if security was hunky dorey, what were they doing that for? >> the stow family says if they win the suit they want to reimburse everyone who contributed to the relief fund except barry bonds who gave college scholarships to both of stow's children. this morning, protesters are expected to be at chevron headquarters in san ramon where the giant oil company is holding the annual stockholder meeting. on monday, 7 environmental protesters were arrested after they repelled down the

bridge to unif i recall the 50-foot flag. the demonstrators want them to clean up waste left behind by oil drilling in the amazon in south america. this morning's meeting is the first since it was found guilty by court in equador of the massive oil contamination in the amazon. if you smell natural gas in mountain view it's likely from a section of pipeline that pg&e is venting from the tests it began this month. residents have been notified about the testing and service will not be interrupted. 450e7btime, pi -- meantime, they are looking into secti section. three miles of line 132 in south san francisco are inspected. it's the first time anyone has looked inside this pipe since it was installed. in 1948. pg&e is looking for problems with welds. federal investigators believe multiple faulty welds were a factor in the pipeline explosion that killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes.

time now is 5:37. we've been talking about light rain in the bay area this morning. can't decide looking at the bay bridge deck if it looks damp. first, i thought it looked dry. not so sure. >> hard to tell. check in with mike for a look at the forecast. maybe he and frances can find out. >> well, the radar doesn't show anything. but i have been looking at the clouds on the tower cam. they are diffuse at the bottom so i think some of the cloud deck, wider, brighter cloud deck may dropped a little bit in the way of the sprinkles. that is maybe what you are seeing on the bay bridge. as far as the radar, you can see the bulk of the moisture to the north. in the north bay. that is where it will stay for most of the commute. pretty quiet outside. winds run from calm to no wind, all the way to 15 miles per hour. fairfield. they will pick up a little bit this afternoon with the frontal passage. at 8:00, rain moving to san francisco and along the coast. temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s. by noon, rain is moving through the heart of the bay and starting to move in the

south bay. temperatures will hold in the mid-to-upper 50s. notice the radar returns become few and far between. they dissipate quickly after the noon hour after they escape the south bay by 3:00 to 4:00. we will see breaks in the clouds. temperatures in the low to mid-50s by 4:00. the accuweather seven-day forecast -- slight chance of scattered showers thursday and friday. breezy and cooler than average through the holiday weekend. >> there might be roadwork heading to the bridge bridge making your way to southbound 101. near the north end of the tower. earlier this morning, only one lane was open. traffic is still wasn't badly backed up coming out of saucelito heading toward san francisco. elsewhere, really no accidents out there. so here is a live shot of interstate 80 where the headlights move westbound. nice, pretty good quiet ride all the way out of vallejo and even out of fairfield this morning. eric, kristen? >> all right, frances. thank you. 5:39.

welcome back. 5:42. solano county detectives are turning to surveillance video to help them solve a double murder. the sheriff department released this video of two men who they consider person of interest. taken inside an oakland restaurant on the night of a murder two weeks ago. an hour after the video was taken. the two men they were with were found shot near vallejo. the man in the white shirt has a mole or tattoo near his right eye. this morning, it now appears a 300-year-old valley oak tree nicknamed "granny" will not be chopped down. the "chronicle" reports the san francisco public utility commission is holding meetings to see if tunnelling under the tree is an option. tunnelling could cost extra $500,000. last week, the neighborhood activists rallied around the tree in menlo park, after learning it would be cut down to make way for a new water pipeline as part of the hetch hetchy system upgrade. >> watch out, hiking in marin county. park officials are warning of an explosion of

federal prosecution, stemming from an affair with his campaign videographer. abc news is reporting the department of justice okayed a prosecution based on campaign finance law violations. prosecutors have been trying to determine whether campaign donations were illegally funneled to his mistress, hunter. the north carolina democrat fathered a daughter with hunter, a campaign employee, before the 2008 presidential campaign. two astronauts are spacewalking again this morning outside the international space station. this is the third spacewalk of the shuttle "endeavor" final voyage. this time, astronauts drew feustel and mike fincke are working outside the complex. installing cable to provide more power to the russian side of the space station. they will hook up an attachment for the space station robotic arm. one more space walk is planned. the shuttle crew is set to return to earth on june 1. >> for endeavor, this is the final frontier and space travel for them. good luck to the crew.
