visitors came from as far as colombia and the netherlands. >> we are learning more about the co-pilot believed to have crashed the plane on purpose. for the first time we seeing the pilot in another aircraft. alex marquardt in germany for us. >> reporter: new pictures of andreas lubitz doing what he loved, soaring through the air here in a glider. but new chilling details about the final minutes of germanwing's flight 9525 as he flew into that mountainside. the stuff of nightmares. a transcript of the cockpit voice recorder released by the german newspaper which abc has not confirmed reveals that 28 minutes in to the flight the captain leaves to go to the bathroom telling lubitz to take over. he puts the plane in descent and three minutes later. the control tower tries to contact the pilot, but there's no answer. the captain comes back finding the door locked. for god's sake, open the door. there are loud metallic blows against the door before the

plane's alarm sounds as it drops fast. lubitz says nothing but is heard breathing. as the plane crashes the last sound heard is the passenger screaming. why lubitz is believed to have piloted the plane in to the ground, german authorities have only said it was a intentional and he had an illness. reports unconfirmed by abc say lubitz was severely depressed, had medication for a psycho somatic illness and sought treatment for problems with his vision, a potential career-ending condition. there are hopes today the german authorities may reveal the exact nature of lubitz's illness. in the meantime, german newspapers printing a full-page letter from the lufthansa group offering condolences to the loved ones of the 150 people who died. alex marquardt, abc news, cologne, germany. a terrifying ordeal for passengers aboard a plane in

halifax. the plane landed in a snowstorm more than 1,000 feet short of the runway. this is what the a320 looks like after slamming in to a bank of antennas and skidding on its belly for about 30 seconds. the landing gear and nose come ripped off a wing and engine left mangled. two dozen people suffered injuries. all 130 people on board were quickly evacuated. >> didn't hesitate, jumped out on to the wing and started running away from the plane. >> the flight arriving from toronto which circled the airport waiting for a break in the weather before getting clearance. this is after midnight on sunday. this caused a temporary blackout at the airport. saudi arabia's pounding rebels in yemen with air strikes for the fifth straight day. the foreign minister says the strikes prevented rebels to use planes they seized to attack yemeni cities and neighboring saudi arabia. he said the attacks have stopped iran from supplying the rebels. if the strikes don't work, saudi arabia and egypt have promised ground troops.

tunisian officials say they have crushed the leadership of the jihadi group that carried out the deadly attack on an art museum killing the group's operational chief. three armed men in uniforms killed 22 people, mostly foreign tourists in the attack. two of the gunmen were killed also. a third escaped. in tunis on sunday the leaders of france, italy and palestinian territories joined with thousands of others to rally against violent extremism. >> back to the u.s. now and a national outcry over a new indiana law. critics saying the religious freedom act promotes discrimination against gays and lesbians. thousands in the streets in indianapolis over the weekend. the marched on the state capitol demanding the repeal of this law. governor mike pence standing firm saying the law may be clarified but it's not going to be changed. well, on this week, anchor george stephanopoulos tried to get an answer out of this guy. >> do you think it should be

legal in the state of indiana to discriminate against gays or lesbians? >> george -- >> it's a yes or no question. >> come on. hoosiers don't believe in discrimination. this is about protecting the religious liberty of every hoosier of every faith. >> one fix people have talked about is simply adding sexual orientation as a protected class under the state's civil rights laws. will you push for that? >> i will not push for that. >> meanwhile, that guy, apple ceo tim cook is speaking out saying laws like that are bad for business and former nba star, charles barkley calling for the ncaa to pull out of this week's final four tournament out of indiana. it is happening in indianapolis this particular. i doubt if that's going to happen but still got everyone talking. spring break is becoming a march madness for a lot of vacation spots. this weekend violence erupted at a house party in panama city, florida. seven people with gunshot wounds there. >> police and lawmakers are desperate to find ways to keep

visitors coming back and also safe. abc's matt gutman with more. >> reporter: spring break at its breaking point. the paradise of panama city, florida, turned in to a war zone. six shootings. >> i need emergency to 5121 gulf drive. going to be four patients, gunshot wounds. >> reporter: this one triggering mayhem, seven shot, hundreds of students partying nearby. >> it is complete chaos here. >> reporter: three young women from alabama a&m wounded one of them critically. in a statement the university described them as innocent victims in the wrong place when an altercation broke out. another victim, 22-year-old tykeria etheridge posting this video to her facebook page from her hospital bed, i just knew i was dead. the 22-year-old suspect from mobile, alabama, was free on bond for drug possession charges during the shooting. now in police custody charged with seven counts of attempted murder.

three weeks ago dakota prescot mississippi state quarterback, and two teammates were beaten in what they say was a unprovoked attack outside of a panama city nightclub. >> can't just have a good spring break time anymore. everything always escalates. the rates of spring break violence escalating caused the police up 60%. >> we have drunk people under the influence of drugs with guns and no respect for themselves, others and most of all authority. we have a recipe for disaster. >> reporter: one that struck seven times. matt gutman, abc news, miami. a fiery plane crash near philadelphia claimed the lives of two people on board. the single engine plane went down in a field yesterday two miles from where it took off. it burst in to flames near an apartment complex but no one on the ground was hurt. officials say the pilot apparently lost control but they are still trying to figure out why. actor harrison ford is reportedly back home after surviving that crash of his small plane, you'll remember.

find a line of waiting diners but one unhappy patron claims he spoke to a waitress waiting to be seated posted this review on yelp. it is not this classy of a place but they refuse to seat me. surprise the restaurant owners looked at surveillance video. >> he never spoke to any servers. he walked in. he looked around and left within 22 seconds. >> the post going viral, many applauding the restaurant but there is a business backlash against bad reviews that is backfiring. >> smelled bad. we kept the windows open the entire time we were there. >> reporter: when he checked in to this hotel for a wedding he was so disappointed he wrote a yelp review and gave it one star. the hotel e-mailing robbie that his negative review would cost the just-married couple $500. the fine print the bride and groom missed when they signed their contract. backlash ensued and later on the hotel expressing in a statement

severely depressed, had medication for a psychosomatic illness and sought treatment for a vision issue. that's a possible career-ending condition. pope francis remembered victims of the crash during his palm sunday mass. 70,000 people were at st. peters square. it starts holy week which will be busy for francis. on friday, he will preside over a service at the coliseum in rome and another big mass next sunday. of course that's easter. dramatic images of a veteran firefighter hurt in the line of duty. you can see the man standing on the roof of a house in fresno, california, when he suddenly falls through. he is then swallowed by the roaring fire. the firefighter then fortunately is brought out by fire crews and good samaritans in just a few minutes and he suffered burns on 70% of his body. more than half of those were third degree. in boston, a decorated police officer who was shot on the job friday night we're told is doing well after surgery. police say officer moynihan and

his partner stopped a car while following up on reports of shots fired. a man in the car shot him just below his eye. the bullet lodging below his right ear. doctors removed the bullet on sunday. his condition is listed as stable and improving. turn to the explosion and fire that brought down three new york city buildings. investigators are trying to determine if a gas line was deliberately compromised. closure for relatives as crews recovered the bodies of two young victims from the site. more now from abc's linzie janis. >> reporter: searchers and dogs sifting through the wreckage of a massive gas explosion. finding the bodies of two victims. the family of one of them, 23-year-old nicholas figueroa at the ground floor sushi restaurant when the blast occurred confirming he was recovered. medical examiners trying to determine if the other is 26-year-old moises lucon, a waiter at the restaurant. city officials tell abc news

it's growing increasingly likely the blast caught on camera, was the result of criminal activity. investigators now pursuing reports from tenants who say in the hours before the explosion they were told if they smelled gas not to call 911 or con-ed but to let the landlord know. prosecutors say that could be an indication the building's owner knew the gas piping wasn't up to code. >> there's certainly a possibility of impropriety. until we get to the site we can't determine the next steps. >> reporter: the landlord and his general contractor who suffered burns, being questioned by authorities. the debris is being put in to containers that are being taken to an undisclosed secure location, in case investigators want to search through it for evidence. linzie janis, abc news, new york. prosecutors in the boston marathon bombing trial of dzhokhar tsarnaev could rest their case as early as today. medical examiners, who can describe the wounds of two of

the people killed in the attack, are expected to be the final witnesses called by prosecutors. then it will be the defense's turn. their case is expected to be brief on account of their earlier admission that tsarnaev was involved in the attack. the fiance of former new england patriots player aaron hernandez will be on the stand in his murder trial. >> she began her testimony last friday when she appeared reluctant and cautious and the questions won't get easier for her today. >> reporter: a pivotal moment in the aaron hernandez murder trial. the former new england patriot star's fiance on the stand to face the toughest questions yet. >> the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you god. >> yes. >> before the court recessed for the weekend, jenkins testified for more than four hours, denying that hernandez had anything to do with the shooting death of his friend odin lloyd two years ago. >> i asked him if he did it and he said no. that was the extent of our conversation.

>> reporter: the 25-year-old admitting her fiance appeared drunk the day he was shot to death and he asked her to withdraw money to give to one of the co-defendants in the case. >> he told me to meet up with bo and give him money. >> prosecutors are trying to put pieces of the puzzle together. >> reporter: one of the biggest pieces, what happened to the missing murder weapon believed to be a .45 glock? prosecutors believe jenkins may know. alleging it was in a box inside of this garage bag, jenkins is seen carrying out of hernandez's home the day after lloyd's death. >> the defendant called you and said it is important to go down and get this box and get rid of it, is that right? >> i believe so. >> reporter: that stunning admission happening with the jury not in the room. just as they were about to hear her testify about the box and possibly its contents, court adjourned. the dramatic day of testimony ending in a cliff hanger. jenkins has been granted immunity in exchange for her
