amanda? >> reporter: crowds across the south bay. we saw students, seniors and others who spent hours pushing for change. with millions involved worldwide, local marchers say they're hopeful their message was heard. climate strikes across south bay brought out thousands, different demographics, same goal. >> there's so many issues involved it's going to take cooperation at every level. >> reporter: libby and her husband admit their actions may have failed. at palo alto city hall patients say they're keeping the future in mind, also having conversations about the climate with their children. >> he wants to see the polar bears. i explained to him how if we don't do anything about it, we won't see them again.
