back now with the detonation of some world war ii explosives on the beach in cape may, new jersey. three unexploded shells were found on a property by a landscaping crew this week. authorities turned them over to a bomb squad which safely blew them up in the sand. the ceremony to mark the anniversary of the september 11 attacks will include a live reading of the names of those killed in the attacks. during the pandemic, a recording was played of the names. this year family members will be able to gather in lower manhattan to remember their loved ones. duke's streak of appearances in march madness is over. the blue devils were forced to pull out of the tournament last night because of a positive covid test. duke's athletic director immediately said the season is over. experts say they probably needed to win the acc tournament in order to qualify for the big dance.

anytime. since it's brunch, how about starting off with an irish coffee. it's basically an ounce and a whisopped with a little h irish whipped cream. then i found this green sugar in the baking section at the store. little sprinkles on top, beautiful irish coffee to start your brunch. >> at the end of every rainbow is what, jack? >> a pot of gold. >> tell us about your pot of gold drink. >> absolutely. i've got to have a pot of gold cocktail. ifound this fighting 69th irish whiskey. i'm always looking for good spirits. it has a nod for the 69th regiment who's led the st. patrick's day parade. for 170 years. i'm going to start off with an ounce and a half of the fighting 69th irish whiskey, very traditional, made in copper pots and barrels. and top it with ginger beer. it gives it kind of a nice little refreshing ginger taste. it's a pot of gold.

what i've done is i've soaked sme golden raisins in with the irish whiskey, and that is going to top my cocktail, making it the pot of gold cocktail. and, as they say in ireland, slainte. >> jack, what do you think? >> i think it's terrific. we're drinking virgin versions of this, but i would dearly love to dig into the old fighting 69th here. >> it is a pot of -- >> we'll do this now, it's delicious. >> it is a gold-plated pot of gold. as we're drinking we need food. you have green eggs and ham? >> very simple, i've got eggs and fresh spinach, blend that up, scramble the eggs, put it down on crustini toast. ham, put your green eggs on top of that with parmesan cheese, delicious. we can't stop there.

these are my irish ruben bites. individually served. really easy to make. i've got flat bread with a little swiss cheese melted. on top of that, i'm going to put a little irish mustard, a little mustard mixed in with the fighting 69th irish whiskey, top that with the corned beef, finally, a little bit of sauerkraut, very easy to make. a perfect side to that is green mashed potatoes! >> oh! >> pea puree in a blender. mix with mashed potatoes. i'll tell you what else you can do with them. you can top it off on irish stew that you can buy at the store and it makes a good presentation. >> oh, it all looks so good. jack, as they say in ireland, bottoms up. >> bottoms up. happy st. patrick's day, everybody. >> happy st. pat's. >> for these and other great st. patrick's day entertaining ideas
