agassi prep academy's governing board is extending their vote.... on a partnership with the controversial democracy prep. ((kirsten joyce)) >> they haven't quite approved the deal just yet .. however, they are moving forward with the process... as 8 news now reporter nia wong reports ... this is something hundreds of people are not happy about, right nia? ((nia wong)) >> that's right ... democracy prep officials will be at the school today to talk to staff... there this morning-- along with students-- to protest the possible partnership. >> hundreds showed up to agassi prep's governing board meeting last night.. not 1 person was in support of a possible partnership with democracy prep. this really only came to light for parents last week... but democracy prep representatives tell us this collaboration has been in the works since march. agassi prep's governing board is scheduled to vote on the partnership december 13th. much of the controversy comes from democracy prep's strict policies...
