((christianne klein)) >> and i'm christianne klein. a construction crew on the property accidentally cut power to the entire property around ten this morning. mauricio marin is live outside the paris tonight with the latest. mauricio? ((mauricio marin)) >> hotel leaders just that paris hotel and casino will remain shut down to the public for the night. they had hoped to get the lights back on but with the sun setting they are now working to get guests into other hotel rooms around las vegas. >> it's taking alot longer than expected to get power back on after a construction crew

ten this morning. the eiffel tower lights are still on but none are working inside the casino floor and in the rooms. a lot of folks are upset because they can't get to their luggage in their rooms. the only people being let in are those who need essential medicine. otherwise---clark county fire officials say no one is permitted inside until n-v energy can get power restored. some guests want to know why back up generators didn't work. this is what hotel leaders had to say: ((rich broome/"there is a backup generator but because the main pr so it's obviously an issue we'll take a look at the make sure that in future instances there is a better to ensure back up power." )) ((mauricio marin)) >> leaders with caesars entertainment which owns the paris tell us guests will be reimbursed financially for having to get luggage mailed to them or missing shows. it will be on a case by case basis. but a new exclusive poll by jmc analytics for 8 news now shows he's also a polarizing figure here in the state. nevada voters were asked if they approved or disapproved of reid's job performance in the senate.. those who disapproved of his performance had a slight edge.. 45 percent of respondents disapproved of his work in the senate while 40 percent approved..15 percent remain undecided.. perhaps unsurprisingly democrats favored his job performance- 67 to 15 percent while republican voters stongly among independents he still scored a 47 to 30 unfavorable rating... the poll was conducted october 28 through november 1.. the margin of error is 4 percent. education accuses penn state of violating the clery act. it requires universities to report crimes that happen on campus. state department officials say penn state failed to report allegations that sandusky was sexually abusing children. the fine is the largest ever imposed on a university for violating the clery act./// ((paul joncich)) fox news anchor megyn kelly has a new book out... and she's addressing the sexual harassment claims against her former boss. in the new book "settle for more"... kelly chief roger ailes' unwanted sexual advances. she says he offered to advance her career in exchange for sexual favors... which she rejected. ailes was ousted earlier this year amid similar allegations from a litany of women. the book is scheduled to come out november 15th./// ((christianne klein)) wells fargo now has another problem on its hands... this time from the securities and exchange commission. it's the latest agency to launch an investigation into the bank...

after she thought she hit it rich on a slot machine. ((christianne klein)) >> she thought she had won a whopping 43- million dollars... but the casino said... not so fast. hazel sanchez has the story. katrina bookman says she had to ta unbelievable moment! the winnings from her spin on a slot machine at resort world casino at aqueduct in jamaica...beaming off the monitor... nearly 43 million dollars!!! sot katrina bookman, jackpot denied: it just had a big screen that said i won 42-point-9 million dollars. i just totally got numb and froze." (t3) the new york state gaming commission which operates the casino, says it removed the slot machine from the floor and examined it's log... (graphic) the commission says: "the log proved that the player of the machine in question was entitled to a prize of two dollars and 25 cents. the display of 42.9 million was clearly a display malfunction. the commission also noted that on the machine a small sign says: malfunction voids all pays and plays. bookman has hired an attorney attorney: "so what does that mean? does it mean that a casino can always say a machine is broken whenever someone wins and hits big?" tedd florendo ((( cool north breezes this afternoon, but not as windy as earlier today as forecasted. temps climbed higher than yesterday and near average again with comfortble 70's outside this afternoon. gusts did peak up to 30 or more colorado river valley. ......... .......................... ................ neighborhood temps in the 70's through many parts of the valley, with mildest temps over to the eastside where we're lower in elevation and typically warmer. west side not as mild and cooler than the rest of the valley with temps only in th 50's for the mountain this afternoon after a chilly morning start near the freezing mark.

regional temps also stayed mild especially down the colorado river down to laughlin and bullhead city. warmer in death valley with high near 80 today. chilly temps exist up in the central great basin and far north portions of the state. ................................ ... ................ cool here to the pacific northwest, but warmer weather continues in the southern plains over to the southeast where they're breaking records for heat for early november. ................................ ... ...................... clearer skies than yesterday and no chance for showers as they stay down towards mexico and arizona. we'll begin to see that low wrap around moisture tomorrow towards northern arizona but we should remain on the dry side with some cloud cover. could sneak in slight chances in east county but otherwise mostly sunny with
