breaking news stories. we start with the most active seen at a shooting. >> there are investigators spread out all over montebello. marshall zelinger is talking about -- to police. what do we know at this hour? >> reporter: we know there was a shooting here. the closest intersection is 53rd and chambers. the investigation still goes on as there was a shoo street. what i'm hearing from neighbors is there was a shooting between two different groups on the sidewalk. from the stop sign here, this is a neighborhood used to shooting. these are bullet holes from previous shootings according to the neighbors here. police have been on the scene for quite some time, the shooting taking place a couple of hours ago. the neighbors tell me it's between two rival groups. one was in a car and another group was on the sidewalk. a woman comes out of that house with her brother because they heard gunshots and the daughter

was shot in the face. she was taken to the hospital and will be okay. that daughter told me about multiple shootings in this neighborhood. >> my neighbors are scared of what they are living in because now they can't take the kids out to play. you could see like, 8:00, 6:00, sometimes at 7:00. >> reporter: on that lightpole street across from where we are now is what appears to be a many h it's a camera that a homeowner on the corner tells me was installed at the beginning of last week, likely as a result of multiple shootings here. according to the residents here, multiple people are shooting at each other. a woman who lives in the house here was shot in the face and taken to the hospital. she will be okay. a different scene about a quarter-mile from here. we are still trying to get details from police on if the

the denver hostile is shut down at 16th and washington ann dozens have been told they can't sleep there because it's too dangerous. marc stewart is at the red cross shelter just set up. you spoke to some of the people staying there. >> reporter: and there is a red cross shelter. we are now back at the scene off 16th avenue and it's not that often that the fire department closes down a building but that is exactly what has haen take a look. you can see there is yellow crime tape surrounding the building, preventing people from going inside. we shot some video just about one hour ago when we just got here. you can see topal -- people putting their possessions on the sidewalk. this came after the fire department got a tip that it was unsafe for people to stay here. the fire department did an inspection and decided it was too dangerous. the number of the people who are staying here went to a red

we just talked to a woman who says she will probably get a hotel room. >>reporter: you can hear and what were you told? >> i paid for the week. i don't know what happened. i got here at 8:00 and they said it was closed down by the health department ordinances. i don't know. >> reporter: so, this is often referred to as a youth hostel and it is true a lot of young people stay here. a lot of international students who may be traveling the but there are also a large number of adults who stay here. they also travel across the country. marc stewart, denver 7. >> late reports coming in about a major earthquake in italy. this video just into the newsroom in the last few minutes. the mayor of a mountain town is about 50 miles northeast of room and says residents are

the dubious doctor was arrested on august 4 and for faces a long list of charges including sexual assault and child abuse. he is accused of injuring at least for patients. according to this court record, when investigators entered his office to serve a search warrant, he was performing an invasive surgical procedure. >> she had been trying to contact him for the past three weeks. >> reporter: patients want answers who shared her story with denver 7. she went to the man for what she thought was a nose job . >> the charge for $3000 for that. >> reporter: she is also worried about a procedure to smooth her for had it says may have caused her headaches. >> she is now questioning was his stuff even washed? does she maybe have an conviction because he didn't properly take care of whatever it was? >> drop from facebook to his own website, he came across as
