the 49ers had no comment, though they have supported players' rights to kneel for the anthem. the cheer leaders are run by an outside organization. our coverage of the game continues later in this news cast. now to a development we first brought to you at 5:00, as police spent the night collecting evidence after a high speed chase with a respect driving at more than 100 miles an hour, firing shots at police officers. cheryl hurd joins us live with more details. cheryl? >> reporter: that suspect was wearing body armor, but it all started with someone who lives in this neighborhood. when police went in to investigate, the suspect took off. >> reporter: it ended here with gunfire and the suspect vehicle crashing into a pole at 22nd and international boulevard in oakland. it started with a phone call to vallejo police. >> the caller indicated the suspect was parked in front of his in the glenn cove

neighborhood of vallejo and heavily armed with rifles, assault weapons, a handgun. >> reporter: before police could approach the suspect, he sped away. there was a chase west bound, interstate 80. the chase went on for 30 miles. sirens blaring, cars quickly moving to the side of the freeway. >> we have reports that the suspect did fire at our officers during the pursuit. >> reporter: those shots were not fired on the interstate. police say the suspect shot at them twiceion on international boulevard. two valjo policsuspe fit, strik him, his condition unknown. >> of course pursuits are with assault rifles and pistols and putting more people in danger. >> reporter: police say the suspect is male, between 30 and

40 years old, and he's known to police. reporting live in vallejo, cheryl hurd, nbc bay area news. >> now to the south bay, a triple shooting at a san jose community center has prompted an increased police presence. the shooting happened last night at the seven trees community center near monterey and capital expressway. a suspect walked up and shot two juvenile girls and boy and took off. two officers were greeting parents and kids tonight. investigators are checking surveillance video and asking for the public's help. >> before it was safe, but now it's like, a little scary. >> there's a lot of good things going on out here. this is definitely an abnormal event. >> all three victims from last night will survive and no suspect description. four fires in two months, the latest one just last night at this historic building. investigators want to know if they have an arsonist on their hand. joins us live.

a man was seen running from one of those fires. do they think he's connected? >> reporter: they really want to talk to that man, jessica. investigates here say they want to talk to the man seen running away from a fire last night. so far, crews here have been able to prevent those fires from spreading and turning into larger events. tonight, they are eager for someone to come forward and give them information about who may be setting these fires before another one starts. flames devour an historic rifle the golden gate recreational area, destroying the building and terrified people who live up the road. >> seeing it so close made me think about getting the kids, getting the dogs, and what can you grab and get in your car. >> reporter: even with limited water available, crews managed to keep the fire from spreading to nearby dry hillsides.

>> there was significant potential for a wildland fire out there if we had some significant winds last night. >> reporter: the site is surrounded by crime tape tonight, because investigators believe someone intentionally set this fire. the u.s. park police officer saw a man leaving the building before it erupted in flames. that man got away. southern marin fire investigators are eager to find him and see if he's connected to three other recent fires in the park. >> we're actively investigating a number of incidents. >> reporter: a small vegetation fire last weekend, and this fire inside and historic bunker that spread to the hillside in september are among the fires investigators are looking into. word that someone might be setting the fires has people who live here nervous. ary, yeah. so hopefully they catch him. >> reporter: back at last night's fire scene, we found large chunks of burned materials spread around if the dry brush. embers that could have easily started additional fires.

san francisco nonprofit that helps people tackle insurance claim. they found 66% of north bay fire victims were underinsured. so who's responsible for making sure you have enough coverage? you are. even though insurance companies automatically adjust your policy yearly, state farm's website is clear -- the choice is yours. bach says most people just renew with whatever the insurance company computer spits out. she believes those formulas can better reflect building costs. >> how to out, you have to tell your customers that. you can't continue to lull people into a false sense of security that they have enough insuranco their house back, and then have them found out after the fact that's not . t >> reporter: we contacted state farm. it declined to talk specifics of their case, and instead sent a statement that says, in part, it is our intent and obligation to

pay what we owe under the terms of the policy. we are always willing to work with our customers to make sure they are receiving the full benefits allowed within their policy. but madonna and marie louise say getting what state foarm owes i a struggle. they say they're willing to take what they offer, but state farm hasn't paid them in full to rebuild. >> it just doesn't seem fair. you spend for your insurance, and then to have to battle for rebuilding, that's cruel. >> reporter: some homes are already rebuilt. while she's waiting to be repaid, state farm says the timeline to process a claim varies because each customer's claim is unique. two steps here to figure this out. first, take your policy and that number at the top, take that to a builder. ask is this enough money?
