members of the gang unit responded...but it's too early to tell if this is gang related. police are not naming any possible suspects at this time. sad news from south lake tahoe. a wisconsin woman died while skiing at heavenly resort. according to the nevada appeal... 77 year old kathryn strangman hit a tree on tuesday. emergency crews weren't able to save her. her death is under investigation and an autopsy has been scheduled. we're getting a look at new images of a woman who's body was found in a shallow grave on lone mountain and roop street in carson city last march. the carson city sheriff's office still doesn't know the woman's name. they developed these renderings to show what she may have looked like. they believe she had reddish or blond hair, and was between 4- foot-6 and 5-3. she's believed to be between the ages of 42 and 71. detectives believe she may have been buried anywhere between one month and a year. if you recognize this woman ... you're urged to call the carson city

some new developments in a murder case in south lake tahoe. police have arrested two men in connection with a deadly shooting at the beverly lodge last month. 18-year-old tristan batten and 20-year-old harvest davidson are charged with one count of murder in the death of dennis wright. police say more arrests are expected and that the remaining suspects are considered armed and dangerous. ### a new tral is underway for the nevada man accused of killing his girlfriend's 2-year old son nearly 6 years ago. cody wallace appeared in a lyon county courtroom yesterday. it was november 23rd, 2010-- when wallace called 9-1-1 saying thomas o'connell the fourth had stopped breathing. the boy later died of blunt force trauma. but according to court documents-- wallace consistently denies hurting the child. several mistakes made in the courtroom--- including the late disclosure of material to the jury-- led to several delays. in new testimony from a witness...she describes her conversation with

i'm reid binion, reporting hillary clinton is getting support from some big names today. former nevada attorney general and democratic candidate for the u.s. senate --catherine cortez masto-- will visit with volunteers at the hillary for nevada carson city office. she then heads to reno where she'll join actress jamie lee curtis at a volunteer canvass kick off event. u.s. senator harry reid is urging nevadans to participate in the upcoming caucuses. 9 years ago... he convinced the democratic party to change nevada's caucus to third in line. its lasting success will be one of the senator's legacies to the silver state. reid says he plans on being in las vegas and participating in the caucuses and is encouraging nevadans to get involved. "you don't have to give speeches, you just go there, and they say, who are you for, who are you for, and you go

feet cool and dry which means changing your socks frequently. she also advises not to wear the same boots every single day. people living in one north valleys neighborhood are dealing with a major trash roblem and they're getting fed up. it's a problem that's been plaguing the area for several years-- people dumping trash in the hills above golden valley. everything from pipe organs, pinball machines, and even appliances. "this is such a beautiful state and what a wonderful back yard for all of us to have. this is where you bring your garbage? c'mon!" neal cobb and some of his neighbors have, over the years, reported the dumping. and even on one occasion made a citizens arrest. if you own a toyota ... you might want to check your seat belts.

toyota is recalling nearly three million s- u-vs worldwide -- because of possible problems with the seat belts. the company says a flaw could cause some rear seat belts to fail. the affected vehicles are the toyota rav-4, toyota rav-4 e-v, and toyota vanguard. most were built between 2005 and 20-14. toyota dealers will fix the problem at no cost to the consumer. if you bought a poinsettia from michael's... you might want to take a closer look. the craft store chain is recalling ashland poinsettia stems and bushes, because they may have mold growing on them. the mold can pose a risk of respiratory infections... but so far-- none have been reported. if you have this product, you can return it to any michael's for a full refund. you can find more information about the recall at kolo t-v dot com.

california. back to you in the studio. thanks very much mike. with the nevada caucuses just two days away, democratic presidential hopeful bernie sanders is rallying in the silver state. kolo 8 news now spoke with sanders on issues in nevada -- including the fair use of public land, immigration and the gap between the middle class and the one percent. he says he plans creating equal use of fedeal lands by all americans, a comprehensive immigration reform and a path towards citizenship for undocumented immigrants and he's hoping to shift the value of wall street during his presidency. it's not unrealistic to fight for working families in the middle class in a time when the middle class is disappearing and the wealthiest people in this country are becoming wealthier. nothing i am talking about is unrealistic

donald trump will be at the nugget casino resort at noon on tuesday. doors open at 10 a.m. the event is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged. a federal grand jury has indicted nevada rancher cliven bundy. the felony charges are connected to the standoff with authorities at his nevada ranch in 20-14. bundy was arrested in oregon, where his sons ryan and ammon bundy were involved in the occupation of an oregon wildlife refuge. both sons -- along with two other men -- were indicted with bundy yesterday. the sixteen counts carry prison terms fines. most serious among them are assault on a federal law enforcement officer, and extortion. cliven bundy could spend the rest of his life in prison if convicted. michigan's governor and the mayor of flint say they have plans to deal with the lead pipes in flint -- but their plans are different. flint mayor karen weaver wants the pipes removed right away. she announced training on removing them would begin next week. snyder wants to coat

protective film instead of removing them, but hasn't given a time frame for his plan. weaver says she is moving forward with her plan to remove the lead pipes. federal regulators say a corroded pipe is what caused the oil spill on the santa barbara coast in cailfornia last may. the pipeline and hazardous materials safety administration says the spill occured in a 2-foot section of the pipe after pressure increased in the pipe when a pump was restarted. more than 140-thousand gallons of crude oil spilled into the ocean. a medical hospital in los angeles paid a 17- thousand dollar ransom after hackers disabled their computer network. hollywood presbyterian medical center says the hackers demanded the ransom of 40-bitcoins -- a nearly untraceable form of digital payment. the hospital first noticed something was wrong on february 4th. thats when they put up signs warning their employees not to use the computers. now the question is -- did the hospital do the right thing in paying off
