welcome to our c-b-s 5 viewers.. who just finished watching the missouri/tenne ssee game. pre-paying for a funeral... is supposed to take the burden off of.. surviving family members. but what happens when the

with... goes out of business after you paid? it happened to a mesa woman, who reached out to 3 on your side's gary harper. your side's gary harper. harper well, this mesa woman says her mother prepaid her own funeral years ago. now, the good news is that mom is still around... but the funeral home isn't. and she says... that's a problem. when adelita quijada holds up a picture of her mom rosie... it's hard to tell them apart. 4:08 "harper you guys are almost like identical twins. "well, when i go to california and they see me and my aunt together they think we're all 3 sisters." unfortunately, though, 84- year-old rosie is suffering from dementia and adelita dreads the day when she will eventually pass away. however, adelita says her mom prepared for her own funeral by taking out a pre-paid funeral policy through a company called great western insurance and made $89 monthly payments.

2007 and then it was paid off. they sent us a letter saying it was all paid off." according to adelita, the insurance policy will pay for her mother's services in full at la paz funeral home in phoenix. the policy even covers her casket.. but, la paz funeral home recently shut down and is out of business. when 3 on your side went to the funeral home, there was absolutely nothing inside. nats of harper looking in door as a result, adelita says her mother's funeral policy that's paid in full... is basically worthless. sh told her to simply find another funeral home that will accept the policy... but adelita says all other funeral homes tell her the same thing. 11:40 "they told me that they won't accept the contract." 3 on your side got involved and we contacted great western insurance to see what happens to a policy when a funeral home... like la paz... shuts down. great western indicated they would look into the matter

. we begin tonight with new details on last week's crash, which killed a young mother, as she and her children are crossing the street in chandler. >> we just learned her little boy is out of the hospital. memorial continues to grow. >>reporter: this 31 -year-old mother was killed when police say a man ran a red light and hit them in this intersection. the family was crossing in this crosswalk. now part of this memorial is this red banner with best wishes for the two kids rushed to the hospital, fighting for their lives. very good news, we are now finding out the three -year-old,
