and they want to take the soccer park for a parking lot. >> if we had to move the soccer field which we have not yet determined, we had to do some brainstorming on where it could be put around the city. >> reporter: then they got in hot water the with environmentalists. >> see the tall trees in the back? they are all going to come down. the soccer field footprint would take out over 370 trees. >> reporter: chris says he is worried about plans to put soccer fields plus fieldhouses in parking in an open space a half mile from the stadium. it's also the location of ohlone burial grounds. >> when they put in the boulevard, they unearthed over 100 ohlone bodies and the soccer field will be going on the site. it's the fifth largest archaeological site in the state of california. >> reporter: and neighbors are weighing in too saying traffic and year round field lighting

would decrease property values. >> we chose this for the open space and we enjoy the outdoor life. we walk, we bike, we run. we just don't want to have artificial lights in our eyes and just it would be really disappointing. >> reporter: i also spoke to a 49ers spokesman this afternoon who said the team needs about 21,000 parking spots for football games. the extra 6,000 spots they want are for special events that would help pay for the stadium such as concerts and things like that. this will be hashed out at a big city council meeting tomorrow night. live in santa clara, len ramirez, kpix 5. >> the city is urging people to be patient saying this is not even close to being a done deal. the plans will be studied further in the coming months. >> new at 5:00, they waited in line for a ride and they ended up getting robbed at gunpoint. oakland police say some armed men held up a group of people

in the casual carpool line in the rockridge district this morning. kpix 5's ann notarangelo joins us with the latest on this investigation. anne. >> reporter: ken, we are near the intersection of hudson and claremont here in north oakland. this is a popular spot for people to pick up casual carpool. and about 9:00 this morning, armed suspects showed up as about 15 people were waiting in line to get rides into san francisco. this is a popular spot because it's easy access to highway 24. we just spoke to one of the victims, who was involved in today's incident, she said there's 15 people in line and then all of a sudden, three men come up with guns, pointed at them, and tell them to give us everything you have. so they complied. she also said some people were able to walk away very casually. they walked away and got away. but most people lost everything, all their belongings. they lost bags and electronics. apparently, though, these witnesses gave very good descriptions because within 2.5 hours, opd had located the

suspect vehicle and they say they have three suspects in custody. now, the oakland police department is not talking on camera but in a news release, they say that the investigation is continuing. they also say that officers understand that this is a big cause of concern for people in the area, area 2 north oakland. and the oakland hills. there are a lot of people who rely on casual carpool to commute to and from work. the woman we spoke with has been using it for 25 years and it's growing in popularity. we saw it grow in popularity especially during the most recent bart strike and in fact bart is encouraging people to use casual carpool after october 11 if bart goes on strike. ken, until now, of course, casual carpool has had a very good track record. a lot of people perceive it to be very safe but clearly this is going to make some people uneasy. in oakland, ann notarangelo, kpix 5. >> also new at 5:00, smoke pouring out of the roof of this church. the church in oakland just a couple of hours ago.

firefighters worked from the top down breaking apart the roof of that building on 8th street. just when it looked like things were calming down flames erupted on the other side of the church. smoke visible in the area, you can see it from san francisco in fact. no word how it started. oakland's illegal sideshows are popping up again, the latest one turning violent [ screaming and gunfire ] >> shots rang out early saturday morning during the aftermath on middle harbor road near the port of oakland. you can see people kicking and jumping on the car because the driver apparently crashed into another car doing donuts as part of the event. when police showed up, they found shell casings and two cars but no one was around. they are still investigating. it sounds like something out of the wild west. six people from an outlaw motorcycle gang are arrested over the weekend! now south san francisco police are working to link the men to

a shooting outside a bar saturday night in broadmoor. mark kelly joins us. what is this motorcycle gang? >> reporter: well, liz, we now have two names. one is called vagos. the other is called the wanted. both are from the stockton area. now, authorities call them an outlaw motorcycle gang and arrested six of them on everything from weapons possession to an outstanding warrant. can authorities link them to shooting this weekend that landed two in the hospital? the donut shop on el camino real in broadmoor has leftovers from saturday's shooting all over the parking lot. these circles mark where shell casings once lay. authorities are looking into whether this weekend's shootout was between two rival motorcycle groups. customers are quick to show us where the bullets hit. according to police, gunshots

went off here at a mexican kitchen 7:50 saturday night. today we find the restaurant all locked up at lunch. locals tell us that's unusual. when the shots fired, pasquale was working in his motel. he heard it all. >> i heard the sound of bullets. >> reporter: how many bullets did you hear? >> i heard two rounds. >> reporter: when authorities got to the scene, they tell us not a suspect or victim in sight. but the story doesn't end there. 10:30 that night two victims showed up at the hospital. they ended up here at san francisco general hospital. one, a 37-year-old man in critical condition with a wound to the abdomen. the other, a 41-year-old man in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the arm. folks who live and work along this road tell us it's a safe area and have no idea why the bikers were here or what the shooting was over. do you ever see a lot of bikers out here? >> no, no.

>> reporter: so what's the deal? what happened? >> honestly, i have no idea. no idea. >> reporter: all right. as authorities continue their investigation, residents hope the rival gangs are from out of town. it won't be back on their quiet street ever again. >> this is a safe place. i never seen like this. >> reporter: so we reached out to broadmore police for more details on the whole investigation. we were told the chief is the only one who could comment. and he is unavailable until tomorrow. live in broadmoor, mark kelly, kpix 5. a tragic accident outside a mills in east contra costa county this morning. a 12-year-old boy was hit and killed while riding his bicycle near the excelsior middle school in byron around 8 a.m. the driver of an suv told officers that she dropped off her own children and then hit something while turning around. she got out and saw the boy underneath her suv. police say that the driver is

cooperating with the investigation. >> it's unfortunate. we just remind people to look twice in each direction because it's something that can be avoided. the traffic that you don't see that can kill you is the traffic that you don't see that you can potentially kill. >> police don't believe that speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. the boy has been identified as burgess hu from discovery bay. and neighbors are planning a candlelight vigil for him tonight at 7:00 at the timberpoint school in discovery bay. other bay area news today san francisco police got ahold of cell phone video showing these two pit bulls fighting as people cheered them on. police say that it happened at the hunters view public housing development. two people were arrested from that incident. authorities are still looking for these four suspects, a black male with jeans and long-sleeved black shirt, a man of pacific islander descent in a dark jacket and jeans, a black woman

in red shirt and gray sweatpants and another man pacific islander descent with a camouflage jacket. palo alto police used the find my iphone app to track down this guy. they say 48-year-old mario zargoza of san jose stole an ipad out of a home in san jose. police later found several stolen electronic items and jewelry as well as prescription drugs at zargoza's home. he has been booked on four felony charges. detectives want to know if he is connected to other burglaries in palo alto. chaos and confusion in kenya. police gain control in the shopping mall hostage crisis. now a uc-berkeley grad speaks out about surviving the terrorist attack. >> this type of activity is not just a bad behavior but illegal. >> they can make or break a business. the major crackdown on companies that buy phony yelp reviews. >> not bad for the first full day of fall. low 80s for you in vacaville,

big crackdown on fake revie. ch, julie . most companies know that a write-up on yelp can make or break their business. now there's a big crackdown on fake reviews. on the consumerwatch, julie watts explains how those bogus posts can get a business into trouble. reporter: >> again, i'm really sorry about what happened. >> reporter: when hvac service heating and air had to reschedule an appointment, debbie ramos said she never imagined it would earn them a one star review on yelp but she was even more shocked at the response they got when they offered to make it up to the yelp super reviewer. >> he will change the review if he gets a check. >> reporter: paying for reviews is a clear violation of yelp's policy and the new york attorney general has now made it clear, it's also against the law. 19 companies have agreed to pay $350,000 in penalties for either writing fake online reviews or paying others to do it for them. >> this type of activity is not just a bad behavior but it's

illegal. >> reporter: yelp says their review filter algorithm has been filtering out fakes for years but hopes the attorney general's action will add another layer of deterrent industrywide. fake reviews are more common on various sites thanks in part to a growing number of online reputation management companies that will write reviews for a price. >> use remember clearly relying on consumer reviews to find a -- users are clearly relying on consumer reviews to find a local business and that's a big incentive to game the system. >> reporter: a study in 2011 found a one star increase to a yelp review could raise revenue by 5 to 9%. and while fake reviews might mean a bad meal for some, for others it could be dangerous. >> it really does hurt my business. >> reporter: while debbie ramos won't go as far as to pay for a good review, she admits they are so important, she does do a little something to encourage repeat reviewer business. >> our yelp customers don't know this but if you leave a yelp review, we will hand write a letter saying thank you very much and me put a starbucks

gift in. >> reporter: that's not against the law since the reviews are not in return for the gift card but guidelines require you fully disclose if you are compensated for a review. representatives from the california attorney general kamala harris' office wouldn't say if they are looking into similar action here. and remember, if you have a consumer complaint, give us a call 888-5-helps-u. abercrombie & fitch agreed to change a policy to settle two discrimination lawsuits brought by bay area women. hani khan of san mateo and halla banafa of milpitas will get a total of $71,000 plus a every attorneys' fees. banafa sued last year claiming she was denied a job at abercrombie because of her hijab. khan sued in 2011 saying that she was fired from the stockroom at the hollister store inside the hillsdale more for refusing to take off her head scarf. >> if it could happen to me in
