no delay. all right. out to hayward now. southbound 880 approaching whipple. we are still watching this accident. still blocking one lane and the delays here getting bad. looks like it's stacking up towards 238 and those red sensors are not the ones we like to see. those mean speeds under 40 miles per hour. so you can see them backed up all the way towards san leandro down into the hayward area. northbound traffic looks like it's getting by okay though heading towards oakland, this is a live look near the oakland coliseum and close to oakland airport taillights moving northbound and so far it's only 18 minutes on northbound 880 between 238 and the maze. that is your latest "kcbs traffic." with your thursday forecast, here's lawrence. >> all right. not seeing that thick ground fog around the bay area today. instead, low clouds extending well onshore. maybe further onshore than yesterday. so as we head out the door this morning the temperatures very similar 40s and 50s but not that thick fog that we have seen the past couple of days. looks like by the afternoon a little sunshine in the bay and the valleys but cloudy at the coastline. and those temperatures are

going to stay very cool. a little warmer toward the weekend but we may see a few more clouds. of course, we have had a few of these areas of low pressure just passing to the south of this blocking ridge of high pressure. no threat of any rain around the bay area. the jet stream just too far to the north so staying dry for now. but cooler than normal in many spots today. around the state you will see some 80s still into the central valley 58 degrees partly cloudy into monterey bay and drizzle in eureka. around our bay, well, keeping things cloudy at the beaches. only in the 50s. mabel some spots only in the low 50s there, maybe in some spots. 60s inside the bay and 70s in the valleys. next couple of days some similar temperatures and then we'll warm up slightly over the weekend maybe back into the 80s in some of the warmest spots. then our skies are going to clear out but cool down as we head in toward next monday and tuesday. all right. let's check your schoolcast for today. st. helena catholic school. you might want to grab a jacket out the door. it's a chilly start to the day, 45 degrees. 68 into lunchtime recess and by the time you get out, 75 degrees and mild.

deputies found him in a field tuesday afternoon with the rifle. investigators say officers think the gun was real ordered lopez to put down the weapon twice. the teen was shot several times and killed. at least one car and camper were destroyed when this storage building in concord went up in flames on via de mercados on concord avenue started at 11 p.m. smoke and flames could be seen for miles. the cause is under investigation. >> reporter: i'm cate caugiran live at the orinda bart station where both tracks are now open after crews worked overnight to clear a damaged train from the tracks. bart workers were here trying to get this 10-car passenger train moved from the station. investigators found out it was the monitor that failed and kept the train from moving. they had to cut it into pieces in order to clear it from the tracks a. >> this is our busiest line. we have trains running sometimes every five minutes. and so it's great news that we were able to get this work done overnight and get it out of the

way before the peak of the peak commute. >> reporter: yesterday during the height of the evening commute riders on the orinda platform were shocked when they saw smoke billowing from under its pittsburg-bay point train. firefighters say the smoke came from the train's semiconductor box. investigators are still working on finding the cause. only minor delays at this point but against things should be back to normal quickly which is good news for commuters. live in orinda, cate caugiran, kpix 5. i'm anne makovec near the bart tracks in walnut creek where the investigation into a deadly accident this weekend that killed two workers continues. this morning, there are new calls for murder charges against some of bart's managers in the wake of that accident. that is were a group called the "united public workers for action." they are going to be holding a press conference outside a bart board meeting this morning. >> in the meantime we wish people would allow us the

grieving process instead of laying blame before we really know what caused this horrible deadly accident that we're all grieving from. >> reporter: the national transportation safety board is heading up the investigation into those deaths. they reenacted the accident yesterday using mannequins trying to get a better idea of the train as speed and position. meantime bart is also suspending the policy under which those workers were operating called "simple approval." in a meant the workers were responsible for their own safety working in teams of two with one being the lookout for oncoming trains. at this point, that policy is suspended which means any workers out on the tracks will have greater warning of any trains that are headed their way. live in walnut creek, anne makovec, kpix 5. breaking news now. road rage has apparently led to a shooting in fremont. police are at the scene right now and have closed brown and mission. one man being checked out at the hospital. we have a crew headed to the scone and will bring you more

information as the morning continues. out to hayward now probably our worst drive time and worst hotspot. southbound 880 approaching whipple. within the last few minutes they opened all lanes so the accident is cleared to the shoulder but delays continue jammed solid from san leandro. also very busy from the altamont pass and the livermore valley. there was an earlier crash in pleasanton. so the drive time is in the red nearly 40 minutes between those wind turbines and 680. and out towards the bay bridge, it is standing up into the macarthur maze so you're looking at 20 minutes now to get you on the bridge. but good news, all bart trains are on time. that is your latest "kcbs traffic." here's lawrence. delays at if due to low clouds of over an hour and a half, not dense fog like yesterday. still clouds extending further onshore. temperatures now in the 40s and 50s. it's going to stay cool at the coastline, highs at the beaches only 50s today, maybe some 70s in the valleys and 60s inside the bay.
