slowdowns, and this is if you're heading say through the morgan hill area. we are seeing delays starting to build on our maps. we've got speeds dipping right below 15 miles per hour. no report of any crashes along that stretch. we're tracking an earlier accident, fire crews still on the scene. they have one lane block on the connector ramp from northbound 880 to southbound 101. the delays we're really tracking are in the northbound direction of 101 as you're approaching 880. the rest of your ride looking okay heading through the south bay. we are getting first reports of a crash along 237 at 101. do expect some minor slowdowns through there. we don't have too many details yet. it does not appear to be really causing a big delay along that stretch. but over along 880 at 238 we had an earlier accident, no longer out there, traffic remains a bit sluggish heading in that southbound direction. we're staying in the yellow, 16 minute ride from 238 on down

an unidentified man in las vegas. she describes an incident she says happened while she was with her daughter. >> a guy walked up on me and said to me leave trump alone, forget the story, and then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said that's a beautiful little girl, it'd be a shame if something happened to her mountain home. >> michael cohen has threatened to sue clifford for $20 million for violating a nondisclosure agreement she signed a week and a half before the election in 2016. cohen paid her $130,000. he says he was not reimbursed by mr. trump or the trump campaign. clifford's attorney seeking to have that agreement voided because president trump did not sign it. about 30 minutes ago, president trump tweeted quote, so much fake news, never been more voluminous or more inaccurate but through it all our country is doing great. clifford's lawyer is also speaking out this morning. he has a warning for the president. we'll hear from him in the next half hour. kenny. thank you. facebook apologizes for a major data scandal after what mark zuckerberg is calling a

breach of trust with user information. sandra osborne is live near facebook headquarters in menlo park with a look at the continued fallout. >> reporter: good morning, kenny. after this so-called breach of trust, a lot of facebook users are questioning their accounts. the hashtag delete facebook was trending on twitter the past couple of days. now the social media giant facebook is using full page newspaper ads in the u.s. and the u. k. to apologize after the revelation cambridge analytica accessed data on 50 million facebook users. cambridge analytica a political consultancy company which worked for president trump's presidential campaign, they're accused of manipulating that data during the 2016 presidential election, which they have denied repeatedly. still lawmakers want to hear how this happened. take a listen. >> and i think mr. zuckerberg needs to come and testify before congress, not just put an advertisement in the

newspaper. he said he would if he was the right guy. he is the right guy. he can't send a staff. >> and senator mark warner says the house committee on energy and commerce will hold a hearing about the data scandal. he'd like to hear from zuckerberg and steve bannon who used to work for cambridge analytica. in the meantime, facebook is trying to salvage trust with its users. they say right now they are taking steps to protect their users. one of the specific things they said they would do is limit the amount of data apps could get when facebook users log in. a lawyer hired by president trump to help handle his response to the ongoing russia probe will no longer be a part of the effort. >> in a statement, trump's personal attorney jay sekulow said conflicts are preventing -- from joining the team. robert mueller's team appears to be entering a critical phase in its investigation into

russia's interference in the 2016 election, and whether the president's campaign cooperated . over the weekend the president tweeted in part, quote, many lawyers and top law firms want to represent me in the russia case. don't believe the fake news narrative that it is hard to find a lawyer who wants to take this on. this week another shakeup at the white house could be coming. the president indicated this weekend that he's preparing to fire veteran's affairs secretary david shulkin. he emerged as a controversial figure because of government travel he and his wife took. amid an ongoing sexual harassment investigation, california's political campaign watchdog panel is withdrawing an advice letter its attorney sent to tony mendoza. it stated that he could use contributions from supporters to a legal defense fund in connection with the probe. the democrat resigned last month over threat of expulsion after an investigation showed

he likely engaged in a pattern of harassment against female aides. mendoza has denied wrongdoing and is suing the senate saying its investigation was flawed. californians with marijuana crimes on their records can clear it up but the numbers show most haven't. the california department of human resources estimates that up to 1 million people were eligible to have their claims downgraded or cleared under prop 64. state data shows only about 5,000 people have applied to have those crimes reduced. the san francisco police commission approved arming officers with tasers, but when they can be used and why is still under review. according to the mayor, the details are all ironed out. he now says their policies regulating how officers can use tasers will work best for the community and our officers and that a ballot measure is unnecessary. two texas officers are recovering after one was shot and another hurt himself while fleeing from gunfire overnight,

and the officers were responding to an unknown urgent call in southeast austin. the interim police chief says a man opened fire and shot one officer in the arm and another injured his hand and knee while getting away. >> we know that the suspect exited the front door along with a female, and at that time one of our members of the s.w.a.t. team fired upon the suspect. >> the gunman died at the scene. the woman was taken into protective custody. sonoma county is rebuilding slowly but surely after october's devastating wildfires. in coffee park, empty lots are selling and contractors have started work on more than a dozen homes there. pg&e will begin a major overhaul of the neighborhood's underground utilities in the coming months as local groups team up with nonprofits to clean up homes and bring normalcy back into the lives of those affected. october wildfires have already cost the napa county government $6.2 million, but

kpix 5's jessica flores is live in emeryville with a look at what you c f0 n the bay area. jessica? prices at the pump have been surging the past couple of weeks. jessica flores is live in emeryville this morning with a look at what you can expect to pay here in the bay area. jessica. >> reporter: well, kenny, if you have a normal-sized car, you're looking at paying about $5 more to fill up than you did last time this year. if you have a truck, even more than that. over here in emeryville, we're looking about $3.59 a gallon for regular gas. this is at the 76 station right off the freeway here. now, the average across the country is $2.66. that's $0.32 a gallon higher than this time last year. here in the bay area, the current average in oakland, we're looking at $3.48. san francisco, $3.59.

san jose, you're looking at $3.48. gas prices shot up $0.07 in the last two weeks. that's all because of rising crude oil prices. industry analysts say we can expect to see prices climb into the summer and aaa says even though this is some of the highest gas prices we've seen since 2014, families are still gearing up to head on road trips. we spoke to a man who says he spent about $60 more than usual for gas on a recent road trip to las vegas. >> just got back from going out to nevada, and i was kind of worried. it did cost a lot more. i had to budget a lot more money for gas. >> how much more? >> god, it was like another 28 bucks or so each way it seems. >> now aaa says about 88 million americans plan to take a road trip this year, and the majority of folks are still choosing road trips over flying, but, again, if you are

further south on 680 south of 580, we're starting to see those typical delays, about a 15 minute ride down towards 84. we've had a couple of problems along 580, so all of our super commuters dealing with delays this morning. we've had an accident blocking at least one lane. it's excuse me, two lanes near grant line road. also an earlier accident still out there. it's over in that center divide, but it's definitely causing a backup along 580. that's a crash near mountain house parkway. the backup stretches to quail hollow. it's a slow ride this morning, 28 minutes from 205 over towards 680. we are tracking a big backup at the bay bridge toll plaza. big surprise. here's a look at the maze. we have reports of a crash. it does not appear to be blocking any lanes any longer. that backup stretches both on to the 580 approach as well as interstate 80. we are tracking slow speeds in

for all of your outdoor activities. michelle. sounds good. thank you. uber is calling it quits on another market. the company will no longer operate in southeast asia. the ride hailing company sold its food and delivery business in the region to grab, which is a singapore based operation that offers ride sharing and logistics sharing throughout southeast asia. the price of the deal has not been revealed. uber will retain a nearly 28% stake in grab. this week apple is expected to unveil a cheaper ipad. the new device is expected to cost $259. the tech giant is also reported to start selling a new education software in a try to win back students and teachers from google and microsoft. apple is hosting a product launch event tomorrow in chicago, and those aren't the only new products the tech giant is planning to release. according to a new report from bank of america, apple is working on a new foldable phone for a 2020 launch.

southbound direction on the left side of your screen. headlights are heading from petaluma boulevard north down to cast tanya. over along highway 37 at lakeville highway, westbound direction, those are the headlights. we have reports of an accident approaching 101 and that is starting to slow things down just a bit. our drive times just went into the yellow, 36 minute ride between 80 and 101. starting to see a little bit of backup over at the richmond-san rafael bridge toll plaza. we had an earlier crash. that has been cleared off that span, and we're in the green as far as your drive times making your way over towards 101 once you get on the bridge. and an accident that left quite a bit of oil in the roadways, so some slick conditions, a cruiser headed out there to try to get that cleared up. you may encounter some slowdowns making your way into pleasant hill and down into walnut creek along 680. we are in the yellow, 8 minute ride down to highway 24. that is a check of your traffic. thank you. investigators are working around the clock as they struggle to come up with a

motive into why a man with no apparent ties to terrorism drove a flaming car right through the gates of travis air force base. the suspect has been identified as 51-year-old hafiz quasi. he is a native of india living in the bay area since 1993. when first responders reached him they said he was already dead inside his vehicle. rescuers realized the minivan was loaded with propane tanks gas cans. new details, about 30 minutes ago we learned the white house will expel 30 russian diplomats from the country. u.s. officials have also ordered the closure of the russian consulate in seattle. these moves are in response to the poisoning of a former russian double agent and his daughter in england. that incident prompted the u. k. to order 23 russian diplomats back to moscow. some lawmakers are glad the president is following the lead taken by the united kingdom.

you have a normal car you're looking at about $5 more to fill up today than you did last year at this time. now here in the bay area, the current average in oakland is $3.48. in san francisco, $3.59. in san jose $3.48. what's to blame for all of this? rising crude oil prices. industry analysts say we can expect to see prices climb into the summer. aaa says even though this is some of the highest gas prices we've seen since 2014, the families they're surveying say they are still headed on road trips. now, we spoke to a man who spent about $60 more than usual for gas on a recent road trip to nevada. >> well, i'm just going to have to save more money. i'm not going to cut out the vacations. >> absolutely. >> reporter: now aaa says about 88 million americans plan on

road trips this year or any kind of trips this year, but the majority of those are actually going to be road trips, about 64%, so if you are going to take a road trip, just factor in 50 to $60 more, but that can certainlied certainly add up. >> remember when the gas prices were $2 and something. >> i remember when they were $0.99. >> where? in colorado? >> yeah. in my town when i first turned 16, there was one station left that had a $0.99 per gallon. >> the reality is 3.50 now right? >> still a lot of congestion on the roads, welcome to the bay area. everything's expensive here. >> we're tracking a couple of problems, this crash near stevenson involving an ac transit bus and another vehicle. expect about a 40 minute ride

heading southbound from 238 down to 237. we're starting to see that san mateo bridge really fill up in that westbound direction on the right side of your screen. in the red, 27 minute ride over to 101 if you're heading out of hayward, and over on the peninsula, things are starting to get a big sluggish as you head into san mateo. along 380 reports of an accident in the eastbound direction near el camino royale. we're starting to see slowdowns along 280. if you're heading to the airport, give yourself some extra time. always words to live by. over along 380 you can see those headlights moving eastbound, and we are tracking a bit of a sluggish ride heading in and out of san francisco. this is right near 3rd street, or bay shore boulevard. you can see 101 all jammed up as well as the bay bridge toll plaza. this has been looking like this all morning long. we are in the red, 24 minute ride heading into san francisco. let's check in with emily now

in the forecast. it is a much more positive story over here at the weather center, a live look at the embarcadero. the sun is getting ready to come up. all those folks getting their morning exercise in or their commute started on their way to work. taking a look at your current temperatures, in san francisco, 46 degrees, concord 40 degrees, still in the 30s in the east bay, 34 degrees in livermore, santa rosa cooler also, 40 degrees. your satellite and radar shows this high pressure system right here. that's just parked right off of our coast, and that is essentially going to be what we can thank for all this beautiful weather we have to follow. looking at our futurecast, this is a 72 hour futurecast where i promise the clock is ticking. but you can only tell with just a few high clouds here and there. that's because over the next several days it's going to be clear and absolutely beautiful. three things to remember. we have a clear, cool start. that rain is over, and then it's going to be sunny and clear all afternoon. our temperatures are going to be a little bit more mild, and then we have warmer days ahead. in fact, highs in the 70s getting close to 80 but not

black man. stephon clark's family has hired a high profile attorney ben crump. crump represented the family of trayvon martin and says he's being retained by clark's family. the san francisco police commission approved arming officers with tasers but when they can be used and why is still under review. according to interim mayor mark ferrell, their policy regulating how officers can use tasers will work best for our community and our officers and that a ballot measure is unnecessary. students who survived the shooting at marjory stoneman douglas high school say their gun control movement is only getting started. the march for our lives rallies drew huge crowds across the country on saturday. the students who organized them say they are going to work to elect lawmakers who support stronger gun laws. and some slow going traffic heading through san jose, northbound 101 right at north 1st street. we are in the yellow for our drive time, 35 minute ride up to san antonio, and we can expect to see some brake lights along 880. this is just south of 238, and
