temperatures. mid 60s san jose and low 60s for concord. so temps running anywhere from 1 to 5 degrees above average. we'll talk about those chances coming up. good morning and let's get a first look at this traffic tuesday this morning. so far traffic moving at the limit as you make your way. things are moving pretty nice. overall pretty easy ride out of the east bay into san francisco. seen a lot of green on our sensors so that's good news this morning. no delays 101 off to 880. we do have an accident not affecting the main lights we'll keep an eye on that and we're starting to see the first line of slowing once you're past there traffic looks great. we are learning more about

the minutes leading up to the helicopter crash that killing kobe bryant and others. . >> federal investigators are pain stakingly examining the helicopter crash. his daughter gianna and several others went down sunday. >> a piece of the tail is down the hill on the left side of the hill. >> the helicopter took off at 9:06 a.m. headed for a basketball tournament in nearby thousand oaks when it ran into thick fog. >> you're still too low levelled for a flight following at this time. >> the pilot did not signal distress but he was climbing to avoid a cloud layer before slamming into a hillside. >> we'll be looking at other

things on the hillside and we're going to be looking for other electronics. >> thousands of mourners and fans fathed here at the staples center, the house that kobe built. >> several landmarks including the empire state building lit up in purple and gold monday night. >> nba star lebron james who recently surpassed bryant's all time scoring record promising to continue his legacy. cbs news los angeles. and makeshift memorials continue to pop up outside the staples center for kobe bryant and his daughter. the arena has now become a place of gathering for thousands of fans. throughout the day, you can see people wearing purple. yellow and white jerseys.

hong kong's leader says they're so concerned about the chronic in a virus that they are stopping train service between hong kong and main line china. the high speed and regular train stations will be closing starting on friday. so at the end of the week, no one will be able to go in or out of hong kong. so far 106 people have died from that flu-like disease that was first identified in december and as we've been talking about five confirmed cases in the u.s., none here in the bay area although there are some in southern california. so far no deaths reported in the united states from the corona virus. 4:38 as you take a live look at capitol hill where president trump's team is provided opening arguments. new information may cause some republicans to break party lines. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell has a hard line stance against admitting new evidence or testimony so far.

going to be warming up later this week definitely feeling more like spring by friday and saturday. and we do need the rain. so from our rainfall since october 1st comparing that to average month to date looking at 78% of average in santa rosa. 34% in lir more and 51% of average in san jose month to date. so we desperately need the rain here we are at 9:00 a.m. for some light showers for the north bay. the peninsula as we go through 1:00 p.m. down through the peninsula there and a few isolated spotty showers possible as we head

through about 3:00 p.m. but you can already start to see that for the north bay by thisng afternoon and cl high pressure builds in. we'll see plenty of sunshine starting wednesday through the rest of the week. not expecting a lot of rain but you can see parts of the east bay and south bay. looking ahead to the end of the week, friday, saturday, we are definitely going to warm up with high temperatures in the low 70s inland by friday and saturday. 58 for today in san francisco. 59 in oakland. 64 in san jose. there we go with attch ththosn temperatures dath, d imcib bycly friday and saturday. gianna. let's check the roadways right now. overall it's variable. not a lot going on. not a lot of cars on the roadway.
