3:00 a.m. there was a big rig accident a big rig struck this divider spilling fuel in the westbound direction. that's why the left lane has been shut down. jackie's the soul with the shot of the cleanup operations. we are looking at the westbound traffic. you can see why the delay has been called off. the fuel spill and the wet pavement making hazardous conditions. diesel has a higher content of oil so it leaves as slippery residue on the pavement. that's why clean-up continues. they are expecting they may have this reopened as early as 7:00 a.m.. that could be a much better opening time then a regional estimates. it is already backed up all the way to the up 580 is

what we saw yesterday similar in terms of temperature. over to the state keeping temperatures in the '60s look at berkeley, richmond struggling to get out of '50's, inland '60s as well the warm spot antioch only getting up to 73 today. today down in the south bay mountain view 63, 66 san jose similar day tomorrow as well. we will see temperatures starting to warm up slightly as we head to the weekend. george. >> serious problems for the commute first we have a hot spot interstate 580 but now look what's happening at the bay bridge. i just spoke with officer short. chp. we mentioned about the stalled bus on the bridge. it turns out the boss dropped its transmission and spilled transmission fluid in
the number five lane. they have that plane shot down while caltrans actually work to clear it. also seeing emergency vehicles here headed towards the upper deck. that could be in connection with this bill. some reports there may be in another accident on the upper deck of the bay bridge. already a westbound back up that includes 880 and the approach from the nimitz freeway. this is very bad news for back up this size. the cars are not moving quickly through here. which means that metering lights have been cranked way down. and in this case deserves the believe so. there is reports there may be another problem on the bridge we will check that out. in the meantime tracking this hot spot interstate 580 in the westbound direction. we have a problem again with a fuel spill resulted
from a big rig accident that occurred at airway boulevard. take a look here at this live shot from kron 4 jackie sizzled providing us with coverage on scene. jackie what have you learned? >> could morning george was down 580 is one of the worst commutes on the best morning. you combine it with a fuel spill and its the worst. are ruptured fuel tank when this accident happened the degree is gone but now they are dealing with the diesel on the road. they are laying absorbent down they will sweep that out and put that absorbent into a house that barrel. we're looking at a bare an hour or maybe more. >> good that we have used their but bad news here. they estimated it would have open at
7:00 a.m. which is 20 minutes from now but as we heard from jackie one hour before they can reopen the road way. look at what they've done to the back up. it is backed up all the way to to 05. we can pick up speed off the roadways we should pick up house slow the traffic is. 15 mi. per hour. it will be grinding along for the west bound ride. there will be any problems at the dublin interchange because all the traffic is being held up behind the problem. are there hot spot the bay bridge westbound ride with at least one lane shutdown on the upper deck. >> thank you george 6:35 a.m. the police sketch sunnyvale police looking for someone they are calling a person of interest in connection with a bunch of arsons there has been 15 fire so

welcome back to kron 4 morning news major cause box this morning carried bee. we are baco the macarthur maze on 580 westbound. here is the reason why. a disabled bus on the upper deck dropped its transmission. it took awhile to get the bus off the bridge. it's built fluid as it moved across this band of mostly it dumped transmission fluid inside the tunnel. in the right-hand lane. caltrans is sweeping it out they have the right lane shut down in order to do that. there was a report of an accident near that spill we did see a number of emergency vehicles rushing to that location. we are not sure about the crash. we are sure about the back up. it will get a lot worse
before it gets better. don't be surprised if we see a back up around the corner on the seashore freeway as well as into the macarthur maze and affecting westbound 580 and even westbound 24. this could be a back up that stays with us through the morning. as well is interstate 580 in the westbound direction. the left lane has been shut down since 3:00 a.m. when a big rig hit the center divider divider they cleared the big gray but the fuel spill back things up. jackie sizzle is on the scene they made him move his vehicle and camera because they were about to reopen lanes. even though they said they may not reopen till 6:30 a.m. it looks as though they are about to reopen but the at damage is done for the 580 commute. backed
up to the 2 05 interchange. those are the only to hot spots because as you can see 680 ride southbound, dublin, pleasanton no problems. westbound highway 4 is only slow right through the heart of antioch. between 580 and the bay bridge big problems. the ride through san jose check from the south bay backup on guadalupe parkway but 101 itself is doing fine. checking with weather. >> a lot of folks using when shall wipers. this shot says it all. you can see the fog cake in bringing as quite a bit in the way of drizzle. continuing with cooler temperatures yesterday we had a cool down, today could be the coldest day of the.
