is. pushing to the coast of northern california. moderate rainfall off shore. it looks like it will not effect the morning commute. latest model shows light rain into the north bay, santa rosa 8:00. heavier stuff starts later. heavy rain through the north bay by noon. coast line near san francisco as well. this continues to slide to the south by 2:00 hour. along the coast line. continues southwards into the afternoon commute. 4:00 rain throughout the bay area, including the south bay. 6:00 rain continues. this will effect the evening commute. to the latest on the amtrak crash in nevada. the driver of the truck who slammed into the train was

driving at a considerable speed. the speed limit is 70 miles per hour. officials found what they believe to be the driver's cell phone. kron 4's grant lodes has the latest on the investigation. >> reporter: six people died in nevada. a truck barreled into this train headed for the bay area and investigators spend monday searching for answers. how did the driver miss the lights and crossing gates that are visible a half mile from the track. monday afternoon the national transportation safety board said they have new video that doesn't show the crash but shows weather conditions were ideal. >> the weather was clear, visibility unrestricted. the horn and bell are in hews

through the crossing. the gates are in the down position as the train approaches and passes. >> reporter: on monday they released the triver's game. lawrence r. valli. he was killed in the crash. he slammed on his breaks but too late.

are still searching for three suspects that stabbed two people at this apartment complex. north main apartment complexes. according to police there were an argument between two groups of people. things got out of hand, things were said by other people in the group and a fight started and that's how two people were stabbed in the group. they were taken to a local hospital. police are continuing to search for three suspects. the victims do have serious stab wounds. look at this video. the fight happened in this parking lot between a red struck and this white suv. police do not know the ages of the victims. but they do say that the wounds are serious and again police will continue to search through the night. they don't believe this was gang related. reggie kumar, kron 4 news.

a jury convicted he tried to sell or trade president barack obama's vacated u.s. senate seat -- a jury contradicted rod blagojevich. he faces up to 300 years in prison. in new mexico a wildfire forces thousands to evacuate and led to a nuclear lab being closed. the fire burned sunday, burned 78 square miles. authorities say the nuclear material is safe. in a 7-2 decision the supreme court struck down a california law regulating the sale of violent video games to minors. the law banned selling or renting violent games to anybody under 18. the court said when it comes to protecting children constitutional limits apply. we will see it all in the

the wings. the department is looking for the shooters and offered a 1,000 dollars reward for information about the shooter. the birds are likely to make a full recovery but that might take six months to determine. jeff bush, kron 4 news. >> a new report from the grand jury claims 70-80% of the first responders live outside of marine. following a major emergency the county's ability to help those in need could be compromised. kron 4 news. >> reporter: on july 1 the law giving drivers with the yellow hybrid stickers special access to carpool lanes will expire. now they be to use the regular lanes and won't be able to use

hov lanes. with 30,000 stickers issued the change in the law will have little impact on the traffic. this is not something we see very often in june but a system dropping down the coast line right now, bringing rain up and down the west coast and to the bay area as well. your morning commute will not be effected. north bay, few showers, closer to the coast line but the heavier rain doesn't start into the early afternoon. areas of yellow and orange indicating moderate to heavy rainfall. thunderstorms as this system pushes through. also gusty winds and possibly small hail and thunder and lightening. later, the system slides down

south, heavier rain closer to oakland and the coast line. 4:00 hour, the push continues. this will effect your evening community. the rain tapers off into the eve inning. pretty impressive rainfall totals. we don't typically see rain this time a year. 3/4 of a inch of rain. up to a third in the central and east bays. lighter totals expected in san jose. temperatures villvary widely as the storm pushes through. north bay upper 50s and low 60s. concord is warmer and inland valley. we will start the day with more sunshine here and the system
