reports, officials are concerned. >> reporter: with the 10th anniversary of 9/11 days away now this a specific credible, unconfirmed threat. u.s. officials say al-qaeda was planning to use a car bomb to target bridges and tunnels in washington d.c. and new york. this is the first tip with an active plot. experts say specific credible but unconfirmed means, specific, this means the threat gives detailed information of a potential plot. credible. it came from a source that is reliable or has been reliable. unconfirmed, the information has not been corroborated. officials say this is a 5 or 6 on a scale of 1-10. >> for 10 years we have not allowed terrorists to intimidate us.

we have lived our lives without fear and we will continue to do so so go about your business but be vigilant. >> reporter: grant lodes, kron 4 news. officials are investigating three people who entered the united states. meanwhile the alert level hasn't changed but raising it is being considered. power is slowly coming back on for some of the 5 million power who lost electricity tonight but the lights are still out in san diego, arizona, new mexico and mexico. kron 4's reggie kumar tells us it was not terrorism but finding the cause is still a challenge tonight. >> reporter: there was major grid lock in orange county because the installs were out there. the power outage started in arizona after an employee removed a piece of equipment.

controversial about this legislation. everything in here is the kind of proposal that has been supported by both democrats and republicans. including many who sit here tonight. and everything in this bill will be paid for. everything. [ cheers and applause ] pass this jobs bill and the typical working family will get a $1,500 tax cut next year. $1,500. that would have been taken out of your pocket, will go into your pocket. this expands on the tax cuts the democrats and republicans passed for this year. if we allow that to expire, if we refuse to act, middle class families will get hit with a tax increase that worst possible time.

camera hit me right here. >> all that happened today was people stood in the free speech zone, in which the bart administration said they will welcome protest, people shooed there, shouted, banners and then massive numbers of police were brought in and people were arrested. >> bart police have an obligation to protect this system and the paying customers. when that interrupted bart police has an obligation to create a safe environment. >> there were no reports of vandalism. the powell street bart station was closed for about 2 hours. temperatures cooler out there today in some spots. other spots didn't see that much cooler. inland 90s still. bay shores, this is where we saw the most cooling. 70s this afternoon.

in news around the bay, the woman accused of murdering a nussing student missed court today, giselle esteban was

excused for a medical issue related to her pregnancy. she is expected of killing michelle le who was last seen leaving kaiser medical center in may. a man is in critical condition, grund down tonight. investigators say two cars stopped. the -- and the people in one of the cars opened fire. the victims tried to flee but crashed into a pole. the crime is gang related. no arrests have been made. >> more fan violence. a brawl broke out during cal's season opener. san francisco police say the victim made a comment to a group of fans which escalated into a fight. the victim was punched and fell to the ground, hitting his head. a officer arrested the suspects. a woman has been charged in

a vandalism spree. police say mandisa monroe slashed the tires of dozens of cars and spray painted others with phrases in egyptian. this is video. 74 cars were vandalized. investigators say video shows mandisa monroe committing the crime. stay with us, there is more news coming up after the break. . in fremont, in a surprise move, fbi served search warrants at solyndra this morning. this comes a week after hundreds of employees were laid off as the company filed for bankrupt kasai. the fbi described it as a junk operation with the u.s. department department of energy. kron 4's rob fladeboe has more. >> reporter: fbi, a team of fbi

agents swarmed through solyndra early thursday. they executed search warrants. but a spokeswoman wouldn't say what they were looking for. >> i can't go into detail about what is on the search warrant. >> reporter: what can you tell us what if any connection there is to the bankruptcy? >> i can't go into detail. >> reporter: with agents at every door, the fbi's arrival was a surprise to the company. >> yeah. i can't speculate on what they are looking at, why they are here. it's too early to know. >> reporter: what is the reaction from employees? >> shocking. employees are coming to work. interesting way to arrive. >> solyndra filed for bankruptcy, laying off 1100 workers. they were the recipient of $500 million in loan guarantees as well as a visit from president
