is lucky to be alive after his heart stopped during a baseball game in rohnert park saturday. kron4's maureen kelly spoke to the two paramedics who just happened to be in the stands and sprang into action. we have interviews and images of the scene that you'll only see on kron. dan farren is describing the accident he and his wife sue farren witnessed while watching their son's baseball game. one of the other kids on the team . 8 year old matthew henry was at bat when he was hit by a baseball in what turned out to be a very bad place.was hit by a baseball in what turned out to be a very bad place >> it's a freak thing >> right in the chest >> reporter: the boy staggered.then starting running to first base but he collapsed after about five feet. >> that ball that hit him in the center of the chest had stopped his heart >> reporter: luckily dan and sue have more than 50 years of paramedic experience between them. they jumped on to the field and into action.this snapshot shows them adminstering cpr.which they kept going for approximently 6 minutes until an ambulance team arrived with a defibulator which administered a lifesaving shock to matthew's heart.

>> secretary of state john kerry wrapped up a three day trip to asia with a speech that focused on de- nuclearization in japan. during the trip he met with japanese leaders to discuss recent relations with north korea. who recently rejected an offer from south korea for peaceful negotiations. but as john kerry explains the united states and japan are open to rekindling nuclear talks with the communist regime. kerry added that north korea will find ready partners if it stops these recent string of threats and agrees to abandon its nuclear program. it is monday in north korea and the country is honoring its late founder kim-il- sung, kim jong un's grandfather. he was born on april fifteenth -- 101-years ago. workers and party loyalists

our team coverage on the expansion continues as kron 4's charles clifford breaks down the numerous road closures and lane restrictions drivers will be facing in the months to come the extension of bart from fremont to north san jose is 10 miles long and there are 11 places where the new railway crosses existing roads and crews will need to build new intersections. that means a lot of traffic delays over the months to come. in the very near future, there are two projects that will affect traffic. first, warren avenue in fremont will be close down this weekend between kato road and warm springs boulevard. that same stretch of road will be closed again the weekend of april 29th.

now, starting next monday hostetter road in san jose between lundy avenue and flickinger avenue will be reduced from three to two lanes in both directions so that crews can start building a new overpass for the new bart rails. that work is expected to continue for 7 to 9 months. the entire bart extension project is scheduled to be completed in 2018 with a price tag of 3.2 billion dollars. in the newsroom, charles clifford kron 4 news. tonight. four people are recovering after being rescued from their sinking tugboat yesterday. this is video of the the bay area coast guard saving the four people after their tug boat sank while towing a barge off the coast of big sur. coast guard crews received

the distress call at about three p-m and deployed a 47-foot motor life boat. a rescue helicopter from the monterey station was also called to the scene. the rescue helicopter found the survivors on a raft and hoisted them aboard. all four were taken to a local hospital , but no injuries were reported. >> we can see the strong wind speeds. in oakland but strongest have been about 15-20 m.p.h. and increasing as the system whirls out. the wind will really crank up by the afternoon. strongest along the coast and near the safe. 35 m.p.h. with a wind advisory 50s and 60s. cold air and place with 40's by the bay and

>> movie-goers went out to the ball game this weekend. and "42" scores a home run at the box office. "42," which tells the life story of jackie robinson, topped the box office, scoring nearly 27-point- three million dollars in its opening weekend. "scary movie 5," featuring charlie sheen and lindsay lohan, grossed nearly 15- point-two million dollars in its debut week in theaters. and the animated feature "the croods" rounded out the top three, picking up another 13-point-two million dollars in its fourth weekend in theaters. despite the down-pour there was no rain on adam scotts parade as he became the first australian to win the augusta national. this is the second year in a row that the masters went into sudden-death as scott and angel cabrera made matching birdies on the 72nd hole. they both made par on the first extra hole -- number 18 -- but scott pulled ahead when he sunk a 12- foot birdie for the win. cabrera -- who won it all in 2009 -- finished in second place. tiger woods finished tied for fourth place.

the giants and starter tim lincecum got a lot of help from the cubs pitchers during their ten-to-seven victory today. lincecum had another shaky start -- giving up two home runs in the first inning. but then the cubs tied a major league record by throwing five wild pitches in the sixth. which allowed the giants to score four runs. then with two down in the ninth inning -- and the giants losing seven-to-six -- hunter pence hit a solo shot to tie the game. eventually they would go on to win by tacking on three more runs in the tenth. the a's struggles against the tigers continued today as they lost ten-to-one. a's starting pitcher jarrod parker didn't make it out of the fourth inning -- giving up eight runs. tigers outfielder austin jackson hit a home run as he went onto a four hit day. a's catcher derek norris doubled in the a's lone run in the fourth inning. oakland -- which entered the game leading the league in several offensive catagories -- struck out 38 times in just three games.
