albeit taking the photo on active railroad tracks, and when i mean active i mean trains going by at speeds in excess of 70 m.p.h. >> so why it's not uncommon to see drivers stopped on these very same tracks. but what's even more disturbing is this ac transit bus which is required by law to stop look and listen before crossings. the california stop for transit buses carry dozens of passengers as far as i can tell is not written in any drivers manual. i have covered this before at the very same crossing where itw as all ac transit buses but this time its.
8:44 pm
also golden gate transit buses at least this one failed stop look and listen at this crossing. now to be fair ther was some driver that can to a brief stop but for the most part many just kinda roll on through. even this shuttle which is by defination is a bus they are also required to stop. this is what could happened if a train impacts a train, this happened back in 2010 when the bus stalled on the track. good thing the bus was empty. bus drivers know they are required and certain rail crossings but many use the excuse they have a tight schedule to keep. i know for a fact that if an ac transit bus driver gets caught ignoring state law regarding rail crossing it couls be a job changing experience but to me that better than the life changing experience of what could happen if a bus full of passengers get struck. in richmond stanley roberts kron 4 news if you have a comment or story idea for stanley, e-mail us at peopleviy@kron4.com
