hoped to have the service restored by 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.. now they're saying no served service until further notice. let's go to mike pelton. >> no service until further notice. a bart spokesperson came out and broke the bad news about half an hour ago. that is not good news for commuters and most of them are caught off guard. bart push the time to 6:00 a.m. and then the new is stated that they would not be running and at this point bart represented as are encouraging people to have other forms of transportation and they can i give an estimated time. this is massing of the morning commute and what really played a role in last night's commute. here are pictures from late last night. bart stated that the problem is computer-related that popped up just after midnight. it stranded about
500 people and some of them did i get home until after 3:00 a.m.. >> there are multiple layers of computers that assist and run the trains and so what we have right now is as some of the computers that move this would just remotely, switching them from one route to another are not moving those switches. we had to manually go there and use a crank and crank it into place. that is what happen overnight and that is why it took so long to get people to where they have to go. >> he stated that this is not the wind and related just a coincidence. he stated that he cannot recall a problem like this happened in recent years but the bottom line the trends are not running through the bart system and we do not know when that was started. >> that means but a lot of
people will take to the street, ac transit had no request from bart to provide service for them. this would be a substitute to the train. they stated that will try to respond with extra service. so far that is all we know about extra transit service. what this means is that there will be mo pressure on the bay bridge and take a look at 880 approach it is already back aboard the westbound lane of the toll plaza. again, the center line, which is best track users is wide open. we have a lot of people that normally would not use the bay bridge because of bart. >> wind advisories are in place on the san mattel of bridge and for the alta mott
