nearly 77 firefighters have been partaking in putting out this for alarm fire that was issued around 1230 in the morning. a lot of hot spots in this building as they continue to fight. the fire was so extreme that basically from the beginning they took a defensive stand finding it a little too dangerous to send firefighters inside that building. in fact there was a partial collapse of the roof so at that point they continue to pour water into the building from up the ladder truck. i had a chance to talk to the spokesperson from the contra costa county fire district as he describes the scene when they got out here and what's inside of that building. >>: when our crews arrived on saying they found heavy buyer involvement and the north end of the building and saw that it was spreading to other parts of the building. we called the second and third alarmed

fairly quickly. ultimately the fire went to four alarms. it's a telephone company. they supplied and installed telephone systems for commercial occupancies. they also recycle the same systems so it's a lot of wires, a lot of plastic. that's burning inside of the building. >>: and offer a big portion of the morning, also you saw the flames on the rooftop out here. basically they're letting the fire burn on the rooftop. following at it to collapse of they could get water inside of the building because materials continue to burn on the inside. obviously because of the conditions it was on say so they couldn't send firefighters inside. they let it burn for a while and then they were able to get water inside of the building. the good news is no one was hurt inside of this fire.

doctors and rescuers say being ready for the cold, with heavy winter clothing may have helped save their lives. six people who spent two days stranded in the snow are in fairly good condition. rescuers finally found them in the frigid mountains of nevada, tuesday afternoon. as andrew spencer reports. temperatures hit 21-degrees below zero in the area where a family of six disappeared. after two days stranded in the wilderness, rescuers began to lose hope that the family had survived. "i was expecting the worst and when i came around the corner and i counted all six of them standing there nice and warm." "right with the jeep." the driver lost control, sunday -- this jeep softly overturning as it slid down an embankment. "the father jumped into action, knew that they had to stay warm, and the first thing he did was build a fire." after last week's snowstorms in northwestern nevada, jay glanton and his girlfriend, christina mcintee decided to go play in the snow with their two kids and her niece and nephew. bundled up and ready for the cold, their heavy winter clothes may have helped save their lives. "they do have some exposure
