neighborhood on edge the most recent a teenager was asleep in the house at night when she says that the intruder cut the screen for the window and made his way inside working us all to her --inside and assaulted her the burglaries happened in this area of town, and this manager's apartment was targeted as he and his family slept surveillance cameras caught pictures of this man who police say his description matches the suspect in other burglaries'. he is between 18 to 20 years old, with a curly afro, another reason the same individual may be responsible for half a dozen burglaries' is that the method of that ientry is very similar

footarmed men on the looseshots already firedsan jose police took no chances and called out the canine units and the swat team. after several hours of searching in the nearby area, on suspect--one suspect was found and arrestedhe was taken to the hospital after his arrestit is unclear what his condition was or the reason for the hospital transport. as you can imagine, the carjacking struck a chord of fear in those who came to what they considered a safe place. >> blake peckham : it definitely makes me a little uneasya little uncomfortable at sometimeswhen your partner came up and told me there may have been something that happened earlier in the day it made me uneasy and i said something to michelle and tommy when i walked through the restaurant but overall, i'm trying to feel a little more comfortable about it. >> jeff :police say they looked for hours for that second suspect but he was nowhere to be found. if you have any information they would like you to give them a call. i'm jeff bush in san jose, kron four news.

>> catherine : two men are dead in connection with two separate officer-involved shootings that happened in san jose within just six hours. in the most recent incident, officers opened fire on a man who confronted them with a shotgun and then barricaded himself inside a home here on san marcos drive. police say they found him several hours later-- after he had killed himself. that followed another incident sunday night on packing place way. police shot and killed a man they say threatened them with a knife after stabbing and critically wounding a driver-- following a traffic accident. new at 11. crews are working to repair a water main break tonight in san jose. the break happened around 8:30. along hillsdale avenue near the silicon valley career center. it's considered to be serious - and water company workers may be on the scene all night. repairs will probably include shutting off the water for a time.

for tomorrow starting out with low clouds through 11 and then sunshine a breezy conditions and high clouds for the afternoon. along with low clouds in the morning for wednesday and possibly a few sprinkles as the weather system gets a little bit closer to less. faster clearing for thursday but still pretty mild, but that will change on friday as high as are going up into the 80s by the bay, '90s inland, and possibly some triple digit temperatures for the weekend >> catherine : it was one small bite for man, one giant leap for mankind. today, for the first time, astronauts on the international space station ate red romaine lettuce that they grew in space. they added a little balsamic vinegar and extra-virgin olive oil. apparently it was pretty good.but it's not about taste. the concept of a space garden is necessary for future deep space missions. like the one planned to mars -- in about 15 years.
