and more evacuations could be ordered at any moment so we have some tips on how to prepare incase you get the call to evacuate. there are five things that city officials are urging you to do now and they are calling it the five p's... they include people... prescriptions... paper... personal needs... and priceless items. number one... know where all of your loved ones are and how to contact them. number 2... start packing a bag now. and in that bag should be your prescriptions as well as important documents like your birth certificate and any insurance information. also in that bag you should include any immediate personal items that you may need like a change of clothing and toiletries. and finally

we continue our breaking news coverage of the massive flooding in san jose, forcing hundreds of people out of their homes. plenty of kron four viewers sent us pictures and videos of the flooding. james fletcher has a closer look. this first video is of someone driving on mayberry lane and taylor street in san jose. the viewer is outside a r-v storage site, and you can see how flooded that lot is. these next pictures show flooded streets in beryessa area near the san jose flea market. and then the next picture from the same viewer shows a truck with water half-way up the car's

capacity. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. it's usually kept at, around 68-percent for seismic saefty reasons. it's now spilling over it's spillway, and down into coyote creek. the creek flows north through morgan hill, san jose and milpitas before draining into the bay but before it gets to the bay, it's flooding low lying neighborhoods in its path. breaking news. thousands forced to evacuate in the south bay because of flooding. we continue to monitor conditions in san jose this morning.

in the east bay. a 20-year-old man is in jail this morning... after police believe he went to a private school in berkeley and stabbed a staff member. authorities say angel juarez was arrested after witnesses positively identified him as the attacker. officers say at about 2:00 yesterday afternoon... juarez came to the via center private school on sixth street in berkeley. that's when they say he stabbed a staff member and then took off down university avenue. police found juarez running over the interstate-880 overpass and arrested him. the condition of the victim is not known this morning. coming up... major flooding in san jose. i'll have a live report.

in vacaville. a giant redwood tree fell on top of a family's home causing thousands of dollars of home. billy mitchell says the tree came crashing down at around 4:00 sunday afternoon... while he was

watching tv with his father and friend. the tree crashed through the living and family rooms. nobody was hurt. mitchell says his grandfather planted the tree nearly 60- years ago. crews were called in to remove the tree which is said to have been unhealthy and weak. house. the mitchells are staying in a hotel until the roof is repaired. breaking news. thousands forced to evacuate in the south bay because of flooding. we continue to monitor conditions in san jose this morning.

take a look at this... this is what's left of a caltrans worker's truck after a massive tree fell on it in nevada city. the worker says he saw the tree falling as he was going down the road. he says he had no way to stop so he just layed across the seats as the tree smashed into the windshield. worried the fuel tank in the back of the truck might explode, he crawled out of one of the windows and called for help. the worker walked away with only a few scratches. he was back at work 16 hours later. power is restored at dominican university in san rafael and the school is back open. it was closed yesterday after multiple trees came crashing down. take a look at these pictures. the damage caused a downed power line, knocking out power

on campus. three cars were damaged, but the buildings were not hit. the recreation center did have power and was open to students for showers. no one was injured. emergency crews are urging people near sacramento to evacuate because of rising flood waters. voluntary evacuations are in place for people near dry creek in rio linda. many people have been lining their homes with sandbags to keep out the water. people across the sacramento and san joaquin valleys are dealing with rising water-levels this week. authorities are telling people living along the tuolumne river to take necessary precautions to protect their land and animals. about 500 people in manteca were forced to evacuate their homes monday night after a levee was breached along the san joaquin river. crews are working to repair that levee this morning. it is unclear when people will be able to return to their homes.

take a look at this dramatic rescue all caught on camera. d-c police officers pulled a man out of a burning car late sunday night. the car had hit a pole and burst into flames. that officer's shift was almost over and he was headed back to the station. he called for back up and multiple officers came to help save the man. finest." no one else was in the car at the time. that man was later released from the hospital. happening now. the homeland security department lays out the trump administration's plans for aggressive enforcement of immigration laws. pamela brown takes a closer look at what it could all mean for undocumented immigrants. tonight -- the department of homeland security releasing ánewá guidelines that could massively expand the number of
