homes and buildings have been destroyed .. that number is up by 2,200 from yesterday. the fires have driven 90- thousand people from their homes... so far, burning more than 191-thousand acres. (steve) and tonight intnse new video is showing how quickly the fire spread... as a sonoma county sheriff's deputy races to get people out of their homes the night the fire broke out.(pam) kron-4's charles clifford is here with more of that video---and what we just learned about the fires tonight. (pam) and tonight - parts of

northern sonoma county are under a new evacuation order. hours ago many residents in the geyserville healdsburg area were mandated to leave their homes.(steve)that's where we find kron 4's hermela aregawi with the latest. hermela?

the tubbs fire claimed 18 lives in sonoma county the hardest hit region so far. tonight we hear from a santa rosa family who lost their home but made it out alive. kron 4's ella sogomonian is in ronhert park showing us the scary scene they escaped and what their life is like today. and the fire that we saw up there in the hills is going to spread.people that live around here tell me in the last day or so the smoke back there had died down but today it's been picking up.around 4 oclock this after noon... the sonoma county sheriff's office issued a mandatory evacuation for parts of geyserville and healdsberg.we spoke to people that live right here on the other side of the mandatory evacuation.they're worried that the fire will spread towards their homes overnight....and they they won't have enough time to escape.

leah johnson and tammy white/under advisoryit's teeter totter back and forth if we're leaving or not but we're staying packed and ready to go at moment's motice. you know we heard in santa rosa that people didn't have enough time to get out. they were sleeping and they didn't hear the knocks at the door. or a phone call or whatever it may have been. but um a lot of elderly peope dying and so it's really scary to us and having kids and leah was very sared and still is worried about it. one night i got really scared so i slept with all my stuff on. i slept with my shoes on my sweater on. i slept with everything and i didn't even really go to sleep that night.

(steve) there is also a new evacuation áadvisoryá in place. in the city of napa... people living west of highway 29 are being told to be ready to go at a moments notice. this is for people living between the oakville grade and rutherford road. this is ánot a mandatory evacuation but authorities do want you to have your bags packed and be ready to leave. (pam) and we want to remind people of the evacuation areas in santa rosa this evening. we just got word from cal fire that the mandatory evacuation order has been reduced to an evacuation advisory.so take a good look,

the areas outlined in red are the mandatory evacuation zones. that area is smaller than it was yesterday...which is good for people who live in that area.no word yet on when authorities will lift the mandatory evacuation zone. ( pam) despite the vast destruction we have shown you at thte journey's end mobile home park, there is more hopeful information this evening about 43 of those mobile homes are still standing.(steve) kron four's spencer blake is live at the park in santa rosa tonight.spencer, how did those homes survive? it was all thanks to the actions of a brave man who lives hereand to some firefighters who broke protocolto make the right choice. priest morgan has lived in journey's end mobile home park for four years."this is a senior park and i'm one of the few able-bodied men around here so when they wanna move a

couch or move something, they need a hand, they seem to come to my door."as crews were still searching through the ashes friday, he wanted to tell me some good news about his neighbhorhood - it wasn't completely in ruins.sunday night the former firefighter says god woke him up from a deep sleep just in time."i came to the front door and i saw 30-foot flames coming out of the hilton hotel."he was about to evacuate, but stopped and reminded himself that he was someone who could help. morgan asked a firefighter who was helping with hospital evacuations next door to lend him a hose so he could fight back flames in the mobile home park.because they were stretched so thin, the firefighter went ahead broke down the fence to feed in a hose to a civilian - something morgan knows is against protocol.by that point, the captain was shocked to see how many homes hadn't yet been consumed by the raging tubbs fire."they shouldn't have gave me that hose. that captain shouldn't that's okay.' none

of that should have happened. god was doing his thing because that needed to be done."as he sprayed down a whole row of homes, and fought back flames, he heard the dog yipping next door.if it hadn't been for those wouldn't have known that his neighbor was still inside."i look up and i see the lady in her wheelchair. her mouth is closed and her eyes are just screaming."three firefighters carried her to safety, and because of morgan's help, 43 mobile homes are still standing today."sahara street, the backside facing kaiser, from one end to the other is completely unburned."morgan worries a lot of his neighbors don't even know the good news yet. in addition to the back side of sahara street, the homes across from it are mostly intact all the way to the laundry room.only a couple of those burned down.live in santa rosa, spencer blake, kron four news. through ash for remains. cadaver dogs were brought in to help in the search. the dogs were also brought in ... to the rincon ridge drive area .. on fountaingrove parkway and millbrook drive. (steve) tonight we are learning more about some of the victims killed in the fires. the daughter of 75 year suiko grant and 95 year old arthur tasman grant posted these pictures on facebook. looking for information on her parents after not hearing from them after the fire.12 hours later she posted these photos of the couple in their primewriting today i lost my beautiful parents. they were not able to escape the fires in the mark west springs area of santa rosa. (steve) this is what's left of the home of leroy and donna halburwho also could not evacuate the larkfield area of santa rosa in time to save themselves. the couple, both in their 80's had been married 50 years.leroy helped found the sonoma county branch of the catholic charity st. vincent de paul. and was

an active member and a volunteer usher at the resurrection catholic church. and 75 year old carmen berriz and her husband armando...were vacationing in santa rosa. they tried to flee the fire but their car got stuck by a falling tree and they took shelter in a and they took shelter in a backyard pool. 76 year old armando kept his wife of afloat for hours.but she ended up dying in his arms. armando survived but suffered serious burns as well as losing his wife of 55 years in the terrible ordeal. (pam) we want to take a moment now to show you some of the victims in these devastating fires... as we head into the break.

who lost their home in the 'tubbs fire' is on a mission. they are searching for the police officers who rushed into their burning home.... and saved them in the early morning hours. kron four's terisa estacio met with the family members today. (estacio live ) it was truly an honor to talk with this family today i am here in santa rosa just off of fountaingrove pkwy near rincon ridge. the zechowys lost everything in the tubbs fire but that is not why the reached out to us they are on a mission. they want to find the officers who came to their rescue risking their own lives to save their entire family. (estacio) there is little left of the zechowy's

home. only the stone pillars next to the mail box still stand. here's what their home.. used to look like. but the santa rosa family isn't really focusing on what is gone they are grateful about what they do have each other. stephen zechowy. everything important to me is in this room. and they add it is all because of the incredible selfless actions two police officers. here's what happened - it was early monday morning the family says the wind knocked out the power. they did not think much of it stephen. i thought maybe we would lose some food however, as they slept.... fire erupted in their neighborhood and quickly spread - that's when two police officers rushed into their burning home - zechowy they said go, you have a minute to go - your house is on fire mia. i heard my dad say get the kids. jill zechowy says they grabed

their dog, shoved everyone into a car including the jill's inlaws sleeping in the front of the house, and drove as fast as they could they have nothing left. they went to target to pick up some essentials - they are hanging out at stephens office for now, and staying at a friends home. when i spoke to them it was a tearful exchange.. as they told me the reason, they are speaking up is this they want to reach out to the officers they don't know who saved them jill. it is hard to put into words but they risked their lives for us and their families support what they do, so thank you stephen. they saved us all. (estacio - ) jill also told me that she just wants to give them both a hug really a remarkable story in all of this tragedy this family so touched about being alive despite losing everything.

(anny hong): .seasonably cool conditions will persist overnight into friday before a warming trend develops over the weekend and into monday. another round of very dry conditions along with locally strong and gusty offshore winds will return friday night into saturday, especially over the north bay mountains and east bay hills. a cooling trend will begin next tuesday and rain chances are forecast to develop late wednesday into thursday.

(steve) and here's at look at some of the largest wildfires burning in the north bay... the atlas fire in napa and solano counties has burned more 48-thousand acres and is 45-percent contained. the nuns fire in sonoma county has burned over 46- thousand acres and is 10- percent contained. the tubbs fire in napa county has burned over 35-thousand acres and is 44-percent contained. and in sonoma county...the pocket fire has burned over 10- thousand acres and is five-percent contained. the city of sonoma, elected officials, and local and state law enforcement ,

hosted a town hall meeting to update people on the fire.( steve )((dbl bx)) kron 4's danny freeman was in that meeting tonight and joins us with residents concerns and official answers. danny what can you tell us? prestwood elementary school is currently packed, well over a hundred people came out to hear the latest update on these fires that have been ravaging the sonoma valley.the meeting will likely continue for a little while so here's what we know now.take vo standing room only for the event hosted by state senator bill dodd.dodd, and congressman mike thompson praised local responders and the resolve and engagement of local residents.congressman thompson received a large applause when he declared there will be "no homeland security or ice people" at
