(vicki) a little time has passed since the north bay fire erupted... but some victim's staying in their home towns, are still living through their tragedy everyday. kron four's philippe djegal met with a volunteer fire fighter in glen ellen, whose home burned down while she was helping others. (philippe)nats- "pretty small house, but it was cozy." as she walks through what used to be her house on warm springs road... volunteer glen ellen fire fighter kristin johnson talks about how tight-knit this community is.. and, how gracious everyone has been through this difficult time. she says her fourth grade teacher opened up his home to her and her family while they try figure things out. kristin johnson/fire victim- "i pass by it a lot, because i have friends up the road that we go visit. and, um, and, just running errands, and its terrible. i mean, my neighborhood all the way up the road, for a little ways, its just, it's gone." most of what burned in the fire, kristin says, can be

courtroom...... when the defense questioned just how the defendant was taken into custody. a port authority surveillance camera pointed at pier 14 showed when 32 year old kate steinle fell to the ground after being struck in the back by the bullet.it was from a vantage point much farther away than this shots.and very grainy.the people on film just little dots..but there was an audible gasp in the courthouse when the person identified as kate steinle collapsed.then enhanced video shows video of a splash that the assistant district attorney says was the murder weapon. and a figure .identified as jose garcia zarate seen here in an eariler court appearance scurries off the pier.the defense attorney maintains that the weapon that killed steinle had been wrapped in rags when his

(vicki) for a second time this week, a student in the east bay brought a loaded gun to campus. the latest one happening in san ramon. that's where police say an eight-year-old brought a loaded gun to school. police say last night a twin creeks elementary school student told his parents that he saw áanotherá third grade student in possession of a gun. investigators then contacted the boy's parents at home. then they found the gun in the student's backpack. it was loaded with a magazine of nine millimeter bullets. police say at this time there are no reports of the student threatening anyone. the student has been suspended.

most biggest companies is ford go bike. they are aggressively expanding here in oakland but neighbors and along one quiet street say they were never told this was happening and they're worried about what it could mean for their neighborhood. natsthis coming friday, ford go bike plans to install one of its bike sharing stations here along shafter avenue in the rockridge area. the new bike rack and payment kiosk will replace two neighborhood parking spaces.sotwe are not really sure why it's going in residential area.anna dair and her family live about two doors down. she says they didn't know this was going to happen. she's not opposed to people riding bikes but she's worried about how this project got approved.soti think in concept the idea is very good. we have a transportation problem in the bay area and bikes are a great solution. the problem we have with this is that we are not sure the proper process was followed. that notice wasn't given to people who would have a rack in front of their house. oakland city councilmember dan kolb represents the rockridge area. he says he has received multiple message from concerned neighbors, but he also says it appears that while ford go bike did follow the rules when it come to public outreach. they probably could have done a better job. sota spokesperson for ford go

(vicki) the world's largest cereal maker is redesigning its corn pops cereal boxes... after a complaint that the art is racially insensitive. the controversy is over this game on the back of the kellogg cereal box. the little corn pop characters on it are doing different activities like shopping and playing in the arcade. one twitter user took offense to the only corn pop character with a darker yellow tone cleaning the floors. he commented saying it was "teaching kids racism." in response-- kellogg apologized for the image and says it was updating its artwork. the cereal maker says the new artwork will reach stores soon.

(pam) kron4's j-r stone was there . he joins us live from santa rosa... jr? 40 year old mike grabow was remembered wednesday night. it's believed he was in bed when the tubbs fire tore through his santa rosa home near mark west springs road. tragically mike didn't make it out.he's just a really great person touched a lot of people probably the nicest man most genuine man i've ever met in my lifemike's friends spoke

higly of him wednesday night. paul sheridan's wife was good friends with mike and like everyone else.was desperatly looking for him after the tubbs fire tore through the area.last text on her phone is asking if he's alright and there's no response so.this is what's left of mike's home. the pick up truck out front is about the only recognizable thing there but even that burned in the fire. wednesday night though it was about remembering the good times with mike. patrons packed the parking lot of ths cooperage brewing company. everyone there to eat, drink, and tell stories about a man they won't soon forget.sot....it was really awesome
