well, so far there have been multiple cases of students bringing guns to schools across the bay area. here at milpitas high school, students were put on lockdown twice today. around noon on thursday, milpitas high school was put on lockdown following reports of student with a gun on campus. senior chris bui says he was in class when the announcement was made.sotall of a sudden we got the announcement that we are going on lockdown. that we couldn't leave our classroom and turn off the lights and just barricade the door.around 1pm, that lockdown was lifted after police say a student with a gun was found and arrested. why the student was carrying a firearm is still under investigation.just a few hours later, milpitas high went on lockdown for a second time on yet another report of a student with gun. this lockdown was lifted a short time later after it was determined to be a false alarm. bui says the idea of a student on campus with a gun is upsetting but he believes the teachers and staff handled the situations appropriately. sotwe have drills at school for earthquakes, intruders, and so we knew what to do. my teacher knew what to do.also on thursday, a san ramon man was arrested after his 8-year- old son brought a loaded handgun to school at twin creeks elementary. the third grader allegedly showed the gun to a friend. the father in this case, 30 year old anthony o'donnel was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, possession of stolen property and criminal storage of a firearm

(vicki) frightening moments for two victims of road rage in the east bay... after they say, a driver hits one in the face--- then almost runs the other over. this happened on ashby near college avenue in berkeley.... and berkeley police are looking for this man on your screen.... kron-4's dan kerman spoke to the victims and explains what happened... sotit snowballed way out of control and it was very frightening.this pleasant hill couple who asked we not show their faces is talking about being attacked during a road rage incident. it happened last thursday on asbhy avenue in berkeley. the couple saw a white mercedes driving erratically and trying to pass along the shoulder. words were exchanged and then when traffic came to a stop, police

peak road and westgate road. there is some relief-- as full containment on the devastating fires is expected tomorrow. (steve)tonight hundreds of people gathered in santa discuss how and when they can start cleaning up. kron 4's hermela aregawi was there....hermela how did that meeting go? (hermela aregawi)a lot of people went home even more confused and frustrated.many of them lost everything.. and want to start moving towards rebuilding as quickly as possible.. but the process is going very slowly for most people.some have been told that they won't have to pay for the clean up..but they don't know how to go about getting that process started. there were representatives from the governor's office of emergency management.. sonoma county department of health services.but it appeared there were more questions than the representatives could answer. people were told to write their questions on the tables so the experts could get them answered at a future date. that frustrated people even more.hundreds if not thousands of people showed up for help and instead went home with packets.they want to know..

who would do the clean up, when could they do it.. would they have to come out of pocket for it.but many people went home feeling like still unsure about how to move forward.kevin foster/resident this is the third meeting i've been to. we are trying to get answers, but people are being directed to tables. they are not answering questions. and its a little bit frustrated frankly for a lot of people in this area. i understand they are getting information. it's a slow process. the concern is is this going to take a year, 6 months, 1 month, those answers we haven't been given yet.paul rossett and jennafer carlin rosset there is a lot of misinformation about the debris removal and we were hoping to be able to get some facts so we can make a good decision for us. agencies involved that seem to be working well together are out here to remove the debris at no cost to homeowners. but the details on that are a bit uncertain. are we going to be bumping up against our category a coverage for insurance and what bucket of funds is this coming from, are we on the hook for anything? (vicki) in the wake of the fires that left thousands without homes... a camp from the "burning man" festival is donating temporary housing containers. this is what the inside of one of the housing units looks like. the containers will house at least 75 people. they are reserved for first responders, nurses, teachers and families with special needs children in

(vicki) as the north bay recovers from weeks of wildfires and traumatic evacuations... today, local leaders boarded the napa valley wine train together. kron four's philippe djegal reports... the message is the the napa valley is still open for business. county residents are invited to attend a day of remembrance in santa rosa in the wake of the wildfires that are still burning in the county. the event starts eleven a.m. at santa rosa junior college's bailey field on mendocino avenue. the event will include a santa rosa fire department color guard bagpipesand brief choir and musical performances. 23 people in sonoma county died in the fires... which destroyed thousands of homes and businesses. (steve) another big story tonight... the federal agent ... whose stolen gun was used in the murder of kate steinle .. took the witness stand today.(vicki) the 2015 killing of steinle made national headlines and sparked a debate on immigration after the suspect turned out to be an undocumented immigrant who'd already been deported five times. this is video of the federal park ranger entering the courtroom. his government issued semi automatic handgun was stolen out of his parked car a few days before the murder. he told the jury that he was travelling in his personal car with his fiance and three children. they parked

checkpoint with her to get emergency care in corpus christi-- and that's when things got dicey. as stephania jimenez reports now there's a possibility she'll be deported to mexico... a place she hasn't been since she was three-months-old. nats of felipa de la cruz in spanish:translator: "she ignores everything that's happening around her when she realizes her family isn't with her, she's going to start to cry." felipa de la cruz is in agony. federal agents are taking her 10-year-old daughter - rosamaria hernandez, to a detention center in san antonio.nats of felipa de la cruz, mom: translator: "i don't know what they're going to come out with." on top of that, felipa is worried about what rosamaria is feeling. she has cerebral palsy...and doesn't understand what's happening. felipa says her daughter has the mentality of a six-year- old. nats of felipa de la cruz, mom: translator: "she's going to start to get uncomfortable and she may hurt her surgery scars."the situation escalated a few days ago. rosamaria's doctors in laredo sent her to driscoll children's hospital for emergency gall bladder surgery. in order to come to corpus christi, she crossed a border checkpoint. that's where border protection stopped her. border patrol then followed her to the hospital for the surgery.

rosamaria left the hospital this morning. her family's attorney told kris six news she may be at the san antonio detention center for up to three weeks. from there, investigators will decide if the girl goes back to her family in laredo...or gets deported to mexico. nats of de la cruztranslator: "i don't want them to deport her. mexico isn't safe and she needs therapy, her doctors." (vicki) her attorney says rosamaria may be at the detention facility for up to three weeks, while immigration officers look at her case. meanwhile, the corpus christi immigration coalition is planning a protest at driscoll children's hospital next wednesday-- they are protesting the border patrol's presence at the hospital. (steve) president donald trump has released some, but not all of the records related to the j-f-k assassination probe. according to the white house -- mr. trump followed some recommendations by national security

starting in the new year... regal entertainment is going to try demand-based pricing for movies at some of its theaters (vicki) you'll pay higher ticket prices for hit movies -- and less for flops.

regal is partnering with the online ticket service and app "atom tickets" to test the program. movies playing at less popular times during the day would also cost less. if successful-- the new pricing plan could give theaters a much-needed boost. shares of regal, a-m-c, cinemark, and big screen operator i-max have all fallen this year because of poor box office sales. may want to close all your windows and doors if you havent done so already if you live in one neighborhood in martinez.... crews are out mosquito fogging along the waterfront.... the area being treated is bordered on the east by pacheco creek... by marina vista avenue and waterfront road. they are spraying insecticide to control the number of adult mosquitoes in the area. the fogging will last until eleven tonight... (steve)(on cam) an east bay high school is standing by its decision to reinstate a teacher ... after an investigation confirming inappropriate conduct with students. that is according to the superintendent of piedmont unified school district. district officials say, the reason the teacher is keeping his job is because the conduct was not criminal. (steve) five recent piedmont high school graduates reported the incidents, which occurred last school year. the teacher was placed on administrative leave in september, but has since been reinstated. tonight for drivers along the peninsula... there will be some ramp closures on the highway 101-willow road interchange in menlo park. it is part of a larger project to rebuild the busy interchange. the work begins friday night... and ramps will be closed and reopened in new configurations ... throughout the weekend. cal-trans wants drivers to be alert... and allow for extra time to get accustomed to the new setup. officials say, the revamped ramps will have tighter turning radius' ... and many connections that were once free-flow, will now have signals. with officer patrick roth of the marin area office of the california highway patrol on of the biggest complaints i receive are carpool cheats this driver saw officer roth and jumped out of the carpoll lane so she gets hand stopped did you know you were in the carpool lane (yea) this driver was late for school so he jumped in the carpool lane my class starts in 10 minuites (what starts in 10 mins?) and now he is still going to be latethen there was this driver who saw the chp cruiser and heading over several lanes but he didn't make it that far. you're by yourself in the carpool lane (i'm trying to get to work im already late) he had more than one issue so why don't you have plates on your car (i'm sorry) how come you don't have license plates on your car im still waiting for them but all the paperwork read differently ne brought the car in febuary and registered it it says april 28 but still no plates but wait there is more where you heading to right now for work (san francisco) ok you got a transponder in the car (no) fastrak ok since april you been going across the golden gate bridge paying no toll (oh i always pay a tollat the golden gate bridge? absolutely and how do you do that? so no transponder and no plates . and he driver across the golden gate bridge you go through for free throught the tolls (ki guess your right) so here is the magical part apparently the dmv somehoe placed his plates in the trunk of is car buried in a box the driver for some reason thought the was a loophole which permitted him to drive plate less my understanding was that

new vaccine to treat shingles... and it's primarily for adults over 50 years old. the new drug is called shingrix... one-third of americans will develop shingles at some point in their lifetime. it's caused by a reactivation of the chickenpox virus ... and the skin lesions can last two to four weeks. and they are sure painful... the advisory committee on immunization practices approved the new drug earlier today... two more days of warm temperatures can be expected across our region before a modest cooling trend returns highs back to normal by the weekend and into early next week. dry weather persists at least through the middle of next week before a major pattern change takes place. (steve) it's not just humans who are being impacted by the opioid epidemic sweeping the nation. (vicki) a puppy in massachusetts had to be given a live-saving drug after an accidental overdose last week. peter thibault (tee-bo) was walking his three-month-old puppy zoey. the curious lab got into a cigarette box... and within seconds... the dog keeled over and grew unresponsive. thibault rushed zoey to the veterinary hospital. staff recognized zoey had overdosed... and administered naloxone-- or narcan. that's the drug is used reverse the effects of opioids on humans. thibault says within five minutes zoey was back on her feet. she went home just 12 hours later. the owner says he is relieved that zoey is safe... but concerned that the pup found
