cruz where he was treated in the e.r. the man, who prefers to remain anonymous, tells kron 4 news he asked to be admitted for the night but was turned down and told he was being discharged he says was given his clothes and offered help to dress.. but he refused he says the next thing you know he was being wheeled out of the hospital to this bus stop, wearing only a hospital gownsot this person was in agony , left at a bus stop and the sheriff's department called us up to get some warm clothing, the person is literally in a hospital smock, you know what that means no under garments, i'm pretty appalled.brent adams posted this video to the homeless outside santa cruz facebook page. adams, who runs the santa cruz warming center program finds the hospital's so called discharge procedure cruel.sot brent adams/ santa cruz warming center program 101-107a lack of human care, human compassion, we're treating people like garbage.the hospital says due to "patient privacy laws and hospital policy, we cannot comment on this case specifically." however they do say "patients in our emergency room are offered food, clothing, and access to transportation and housing resources if needed." but adams says this is not the first time this hospital has been cruel discharging

with the disturbing details. (grant)the parents are accused of holding 13 of their children captive in their home. police arrested david turpin...and louise turpin ... after reportedly making a sickening discovery in their riverside county home. now they are facing charges of torture and child endangerment. police found 12 siblings in filthy conditions....some of them malnourished and chained to beds. investigators say they were alerted to the say they were investigators say they were alerted to the situation by an emaciated teen girl...a 13-th victim=== who had escaped the home and had escaped the home and called 9-1-1. neighbors described what the alleged victims looked like after being rescued.

tougher... walgreens is reporting it has a limited supply of tamiflu in the bay area.(steve) that is the anti-viral prescription medicine that treats the flu. kron 4's gabe slate joins us live in the newsroom.gabe, you looked around to see how low supply is, what did you find out? once we heard that walgreens was reporting a limited supply of tamiflu we wanted to know if this was widespreadif we are on the eve of a serious shortage of tamiflu.. here is what i found out. according to public health officials this year's flu season is shaping up to be the nastieest one in the last 10 years.dr. matthew willis - marin - public health officer, department of health and human services "the most cases in 10 years at this time in the season"all these cases of the flu are straining the supply tamiflu, of the most common anti viral prescription drug used to treat the flu. a walgreens spokesperson told me the high demand for tamiflu in the bay area has lead to some of their pharmacies reporting a limited supply. they said they are going to take additional measures to help

meet patient demand.. "i spoke with several pharmacists at different walgreens in the bay area they all told me as of today they were fully stocked.. but they have had days where they ran out. i then called several rite aids in the bay area, the ones i spoke with each had under 10 adult tamiflu regiments left. one only had 3 two rite aids were out of the children tamiflu prescription. in a statement sent to us rite aid says they are not suffering from a shortage of tamiflu and at most a location may be temporarily out of stock but customers can generally find it at another location. cvs also sent us a statement, basically saying the same as rite aid that they are not experiencing severe tamiflu shortage on their end some stores may run out but should be re-supplied the next day. so far none of the public health agencies in the bay area have sent out alerts about tamiflu shortages but doctor matthew willis, public health officer for the marin county department of health and human services says marin county is aware of the tamiflu supply concnerns and they are keeping an eye on it doctor willis says the best way to slow down this spike of flu cases we are seeing infected to not pass it on dr. matthew willis - marin - public department of health and human services "if you cough use your elbow, the droplets land on then someone touches it and touches their face"if you have been tamiflu, the big three pharmacies walgreens, told me call first to they are headed to.. they have stock before going to drop off a prescription. in sf gs k4news the big three pharmacies.. walgreens, cvs, and rite all told me. people should call first to the pharmacy they are

of people are celebrating doctor martin luther king junior's birthday.... with song, dance, and marches, speeches and with service to their communities. here in the bay area and across the nation. people were marking the day.. which is always celebrated the third monday in january. and this year it fell on the king's actual birthday.(steve) the american civil rights leader is remembered for his commitment to fighting racial inequality through non- violent resistance. (steve) in the south bay... a jubilant gathering to honor doctor king's legacy.(pam) once again, it was standing room only on board the m-l-k "celebration train" which starts on the peninsula. kron four's rob fladaboe boarded the train in san jose ... and rode with the crowd to san francisco. people on train singcaltrain's annual san jose to san francisco martin luther king junior celebration train was just that. riders joining the new birth fellowship praise team in celebrating the birthday and legacy of the late civil rights leader. francisco freeway.. has left three people injured...(steve) and police say the shooter remains on the loose. it happened just after three this morning on interstate 280... near alemany boulevard. officials say between three to

six people were driving southbound near the alemany exit when they were shot. the victims drove themselves to the hospital and called police to report the shooting. the c-h-p has not released the identity or condition of the victims. authorities say it is still unclear if the shooter was on the side of the road or driving on the highway. the investigation is ongoing. (pam) happening tomorrow.... new rules are kicking in for air- b-n-b in san francisco.. which may result in the loss of thousands of hosts in the city... by tuesday - all hosts must be registered. the registration rule follows a court battle last may... which led to limits on rentals and tougher registration requirements. roughly 22-hundred hosts have met the new rules. that number is way down from the nearly 85-hundred listings the city had in early august. city officials have argued that the tougher limits will prevent people from turning their properties into permanent hotels.... in an area where housing is already

(pam) those are the parents of four- day old quintuplets ... born in walnut creek on thursday.(steve) amy and chad kempel invited kron four's spencer blake into their hospital room to talk about the event that more than doubles their family in size. spencer's live in the east bay tonight. spencer - how are those babies doing? that's the best news - not only did they all survive a high-risk delivery, but all five babies - and mom - are doing as well as can be expected right now. after spending a month in the hospital already, amy kempel was felt calm as she went into delivery."it wasn't until like right before that i started freaking out a little bit." which is completely allowed, seeing as how she had five babies that were ready to be born."they just were taking

babies out one after the other, we were hearing cries." when kron four first talked to the kempels in november, they were worried that no bay-area doctors had experience with delivering quintuplets.but dad chad says...the care they got at kaiser permanente in walnut creek, has been great.there was a team of 60 specialists with hands on deck when the babies entered the world on thursday."our obstreticians, our neotaologists, our ancillary staff - our pharmacists, respiratory therapist, radiologist, and as well as our fabulous nurses from labor and delivery, post- partum, and our nicu team."in birth order, lincoln, noelle, grayson, preston, and gabriella are all in the nicu. they each weighed about two and a half pounds at birth, and are about the same size. "it's on par for other quintuplets and actually, most impressive, it's on par with other babies born at 27 weeks." doctor allen fischer says most babies born at 27 weeks, do survive.but they will also be in the hospital for about two and a half months."mom is doing great. she's recovering as would be expected at this point."amy says she's still in a lot of pain, and she and chad are happy, but still nervous each time they see their three tiny boys and their two tiny daughters with tubes and wires all over them.

(pam) she joins 140 women accusing nassar of abusing them ... while he worked for u-s-a gymnastics and michigan state university. biles came forward a day before his federal sentencing begins. nassar has pleaded guilty to seven -counts of criminal sexual conduct, and admitted he used his position to sexually abuse young girls-- biles is the latest member

of the "fierce five" 2012 u-s gymnastics team... to speak out against nassar. aly raisman, gabby douglas and mckayla maroney have said he abused them. (pam) actor and comedian aziz ansari is responding to sexual misconduct claims made against him... by a woman he dated briefly last year. a new york photographer says, she was forced into a sexual encounter with ansari at his apartment. he has issued a statement saying... that everything was consensual. and says, he was "surprised and concerned" after getting a text from the woman the next day... saying, she felt uncomfortable. the woman said... she decided to come forward after she saw ansari wearing a "time's up" pin at the golden globes. (steve) actress eliza dushku is accusing a well-known hollywood stunt coordinator of molesting her. dushku says joel kramer assaulted her in a hotel room in miami when she was 12-years old. it reportedly happened while dushku was filming the 19-94 movie "true lies" kramer he denies all of her accusations. continues ... after the southern california mudslides. today authorities had a new estimate of when highway 101 near montecito will reopen...(pam) state transportation authorities say, they are hoping to get highway- 101 open on january 22nd. it has been shut down since january 9th... that's when the lanes were inundated during the powerful storm that triggered mudslides - leaving at least 20 people dead. tonight, crews are searching for three people listed as missing. among the three - is a 2-year-old girl. in terms of the ongoing field search - emergency officials admit, at this point, there is not much hope of finding any survivors. (steve) another winter storm created chaos for millions from the east coast to the midwest. check this out. in kentucky a driver losing control on an icy road. and slamming into a police car. in maine ...cars were submerged in a flooded neighborhood. and chunks of ice float down a connecticut river ...

(steve) new at 8 a demonstration by bikers in south florida has caused havoc this holiday weekend. motorcyclists and a-t-v riders took to the streets for an anti-gun violence protest called "wheels up, guns down." it's aimed at honoring doctor martin luther king junior. they performed wheelies and other dangerous stunts on busy roads... landing several people in the hospital with injuries. police towed dozens of unregistered cars... gave out over 25 tickets... and made several arrests.
