school in san mateo. it happened friday evening at a big five sporting goods. the man told an employee that he wanted to buy a gun... and then threatened to use it to shoot up a school. san mateo police arrived within minutes and searched for the man... but could not find him. witnesses did not find the threat to be credible.. but police are still asking for the public's help indentifying him out of precausion.

thanks will. we will check back with you through out the morning. happening now... police in the east bay are looking for a serial bank robber. police say this man robbed 4 different chase bank locations in four different cities this month. the robberies happened in richmond... emeryville... oakland and berkeley. these are surveillance images from surveillance images from the robberies. in each case he walked to up to the teller and handed them a note demanding money. the f-b-i is now investigating along with three other local police departments. ( terisa ) investigators are working to figure out how a fire started in the basement of a san francisco church. people came to palm sunday at the christ church lutheran to find an active fire investigation. the fire had started in the basement overnight. the pastor says he saw a a person the night before on church grounds... and asked them to

leave. investiagtors believe the fire was started intentionally. ( terisa ) the church is bumping up its security to make sure nothing like this happens again. ( terisa ) caltrains is back on track after a train crashed into an empty car. it happened last night just before 11 in palo alto. the train hit the car at the railroad crossing on charleston road. there were 173 passengers on board during the crash. however, no one was injured in the collision. in the east bay... a man is dead after an s-u-v hit him in oakland. c-h-p says the victim was walking on 8-80 north near 98th avenue.. when the car hit him on saturday morning. the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

the driver did cooperate with officers at the scene. it is unclear why the victim was walking on the highway. police say a man -- performing sideshow style moves in his car -- popped a tire right in front of an officer. take a look at this photo. this happened in oakland. an officer says the driver was doing burnouts in his car. no word yet on if that driver was arrested. ( james ) the f-b-i says it is working around the clock to determine why a man with no apparatent ties to terrorism... drove a minivan full of propane tanks... through the main gate of travis air force base. this happened last week. f-b-i officials say that hafiz kazi died in the minivan...after veering through the gate . kazi had no known links to terrorism. he did not leave behind a note or any explanation... and a video found on a cellphone provided no clues. ( terisa ) new this morning... a man was arrested for allegedly pulling a knife at a bart employee.

it happened at the colma bart station. delbert hayes was booked into the san mateo county jail on suspicion of brandishing the knife... along with other outstanding warrants. ( terisa ) also on bart... a woman was robbed of her iphone on a pittsburg/bay point bart train while it was stopped at the embarcadero station. police say the male teenager shoved the woman, took her iphone and ran off the train. the victim reported the robbery to an officer. police have not released a description of the thief. ( terisa ) a hawk is safe thanks to alameda county firefighters and p-g-and-e. firefighters in hayward say the hawk was trapped in a string... about 50 feet up in a tree at cherryland park. p-g-and-e responded to the scene with a cherry picker. a fish and game worker was hoisted up and rescued the hawk. a big story this morning... adult film star stormy daniels claims she had an affair with donald trump in 2006... and to keep her quiet... she was threatened.

sara sidner has the details. stephanie clifford, aka stormy daniels, breaking her silence to 60 minutes about her alleged affair with donald trump and the aftermath. stephanie clifford: he was like, "wow, you-- you are special. you remind me of my daughter." daniels telling anderson cooper áthatá was what trump told her when they met for the first time in 2006. she says their only sexual encounter happened afterwards in his tahoe resort hotel room. stephanie clifford: "he's like uh, "have you seen my new magazine? anderson cooper: he was showing you his own picture on the cover of a magazine. stephanie clifford: right, right. and so i was like, "does this-- does this normally work for you?" // butt to // stephanie clifford: and i was like, "someone should take that magazine and spank you with it." the relationship ended, clifford talked about the alleged affair to the sister company of in-touch magazine. she was offered 15-thousand dollars for the story but says she never collected. clifford says the article didn't initially publish.trump's attorney michael cohen reportedly threatened to sue the magazine. a few weeks after she did that interview - - clifford says ásheá was personally threatened in las vegas. stephanie clifford: "i was in a parking lot, going to a fitness class with my infant daughter. // butt to // stephanie clifford: and a guy walked up on me and said to me, "leave trump alone. forget the story." and then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, "a beautiful little girl. it'd be a shame if something happened to her mom." cohen's attorney -- now accusing clifford of ádefamationá and demanding a retraction in a letter immediately following the 60 minutes interview -- insisting cohen "had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any such person or incident, and does not even believe that such a person exists or that such incident ever occurred."cohen brokered a confidentiality agreement with clifford days before the presidential election -- paying her 130 thousand dollars to keep quiet -- although clifford says she wanted to tell her story. anderson cooper: was it hush money to stay silent?stephanie clifford: yes. the story was coming out again. i was concerned for my family and their safety.

united states is expelling 60 russian diplomats... and is ordering the seattle consulate to close. this comes after a former russian double agent and his daughter were poisoned in england. authorities there have concluded russia was responsible. the u-k ordered 23 russian diplomats back to moscow. ( james ) one person is dead and another hospitalized after an attempted murder suicide... at a church. it happened around two yesterday afternoon on chestnut street and 19th avenue in san francisco. officers

responded to reports of a domestic violence situation.... involving a stabbing. we spoke to one man from the area about the stabbing. ( james )( james ) police say the female victim was taken to the hospital where she later died. the man who stabbed her was taken to the hospital. authorities say he is being treated for what appears to be self-inflicted stab wounds. ( james ) police in newark are investigating a murder. officers responded late saturday night to reports of gun shots near wells avenue. police found a man dead -- he had been shot to death. the victim has not been identified. no arrests have been made. ( terisa ) a north bay man is facing multiple charges after a dead horse was found on his property. joseph rafael of cloverdale was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony animal abuse. a worried neighbor

called police after finding the horse. authorities say the dead horse had bones showing through its skin. officers also found eleven other horses in knee deep mud. neighbors say rafael was known for underfeeding his horses. the remaining horses were photographed and moved to a shelter. president trump is aledgeldy planning to fire veterans affairs secretary david shulkin. the announcement could happen as early as this week. that's according to a source familiar with conversations. also... the president expects to make one or two major changes very soon. shulkin emerged as a controversial figure because of government travel taken by him and his wife. there was also an opposition to his leadership. white house officials have not yet commented. on the peninsula... military veterans took part in "medal of honor day" at the golden gate national cemetery in san bruno.music."> you're looking at

entrance of the glenwood correctional facility.there is not much out here....the correctional facility is located on 400 log cabin ranch road in la honda. last night at approximately 9:45pm, the sheriff's office was notified of two walkaways from the glenwood correctional facility. deputies are currently on scene searching the area for the two men.one of them is an 18 year old black male, 6'01", 210 pounds, last seen wearing grey sweat pants and a grey sweatshirt. the other man is a 17-year old polynesian male, 5'07", 200 pounds, last seen wearing grey sweatpants and grey sweatshirt. if you see these men, do not confront them and all 911 immediately.lydia pantazes kron4 news. ( james ) in the east bay... the march for our lives rally drew in thousands of people demanding change. the large crowd met at the frank ogawa plaza in oakland on saturday. youths led the way during

for students attending a redwood city elementary school... the superintendent is recommending closing the school because of decreased enrollment. 8 years ago fair oaks elementary had nearly 500 students... now it only has around 200. the superintendent sent a letter to parents saying he is recommending the school to close at this end of the school year. students told us they are upset their school could be closing. ( terisa ) the school will remain open until the school board makes a final decision. there is not a scheduled date for a vote at this time. the officer who was shot in san francisco last wednesday has been released from the hospital. the shooting happened on wednesday inside a barber shop on geneva avenue and london street which is in the excelsior district of san francisco. a police officer, a teenager, and two barbers were also hit

before police finally shot the gunman. the gunman involved in the shootout with officers has died. happening today... a prominent civil rights attorney is expected to announce a lawsuit after police in sacramento shot and killed stephon clark last week. the shooting sparked days of protests around the city. marc thompson has the latest. national civil rights attorney ben crump sent out this tweet and video saying he is now representing the family of stepon clark. clark - 22- years-old - was unarmed when he was shot and killed by sacramento police outside his grandparents home sunday - sparking days of protests as people marched the streets of sacramento demanding justice. crump has represented families in high profile cases including trayvon martin, michael brown and tamir rice. in the video he writes "all of us who are committed to social justice are demanding full

( james ) petaluma police are looking for a man who attempted a burglary from a u-s bank. here is a picture of the thief. police say this happened friday... when a man handed the bank teller a withdraw slip. the thief put someone else's name and account number on the slip... and gave the teller a license with the same information. the bank teller told police they were suspicious of the man, and that the i-d might be fake. police say the would-be-thief got nervous as the teller worked on the transaction... and eventually left the bank with no money.

two people were rescued sunday... after they got stuck in the bed of a truck in the arroyo seco river. cal fire says the water was about 4 feet deep and flowing quickly. a helicopter had to be used for the rescue. a mechanical hoist lowered a firefighter to the truck... to pickup the victims. they were not hurt. the rescue took just 15 minutes. a u-s army veteran who served two tours in afghanistan has been deported to mexico. the deportation follows an earlier decision by u-s officials to deny miguel perez's citizenship application because of a felony drug conviction... despite his service and the p-t-s-d he says it caused. perez was escorted across the us-mexico border from texas and handed over to mexican authorities. this is video of him being loaded into a van in mexico. perez... his family and supporters had argued that his wartime

service to the country had earned him the right to stay in the u-s and to receive mental health treatment for the p-t-s-d and substance abuse. facebook is apologizing for a "breach of trust" scandal. now... it's facing questions about pulling data from android devices. facebook is under fire for it's role in the cambridge analytica data scandal. cambridge analytica is a british consulting firm that worked for the 2016 trump campaign. it's accused of harvesting data from millions of facebook users without their knowledge or permission. facebook bought ads in u-s and british newspapers... apologizing for the sandal. but now facebook is accused of collecting phone numbers and text messages from android devices. the website "ars technica"

( james ) now to bay area sports... it was a bad weekend for bay area sports fans. let's start with the warriors. the team announcing yesterday that steph curry will miss the entire first round of the playoffs. curry injured his knee on friday night against the hawks. it was his first game back since his ankle injury earlier this month. this is just the most recent injury plagueing the warriors. klay thompson and kevin durant are also currently sidelined by injuries. ( james ) and the depleted warriors took on the jazz last night... utah not messing around. at one point in time... that jazz had a 26 point lead. the jazz roll to win 110 to 91. the warriors will be back in action on tuesday night against the pacers. any better for giants fans over the weekend... pitcher madison bumgarner has already had surgery to repair a broken pinkie finger in his throwing hand. he will be out six to eight weeks. in case you missed it... bumgarner was hit with a line drive on friday. it was bumgarners last start of the spring. on saturday doctors inserted three pins into his finger to stabalize the broken bone. he will not be able to throw until those pins are removed. he is expected to be back... sometime in june. their game. they're now using getaway drivers who barely stop the car... as your packages are being stolen.( terisa ) kron 4's stanley roberts has more from belmont is this edition of people behaving badly. porch pirates ..the menace to society this one struck in the city of belmont, right smack in the middle of day i was expecting some packages and when i checked on amazon and it said delivered i asked the gardener if he had seen seen any packages this is the victim, he doesn't want to use his name but after checking his ring camera he noticed two things i found there were like two suspicious recordings on around 10 in the morning and one around noon the first was the actual amazon delivery to this sleepy neighborhood the second was this someone else running up to the doorbell and picking up the

wb 80 is less then 30 min from the maze to sf. richmond bridge slows castro to midspan in the east in the east bay... a man is dead after an s-u-v hit him in oakland. c-h-p says the victim was walking on 8-80 north near 98th avenue.. when the car hit him on saturday morning. the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

the driver did cooperate with officers at the scene. it is unclear why the victim was walking on the highway. police say a man -- performing sideshow style moves in his car -- popped a tire right in front of an officer. take a look at this photo. this happened in oakland. an officer says the driver was doing burnouts in his car. no word yet on if that driver was arrested. (james) police in newark are investigating a murder. officers responded late saturday night to reports of gun shots near wells avenue. police found a man dead -- he had been shot to death. the victim has not been identified. no arrests have been made. (james) a north bay man is facing multiple charges after a dead horse was found on his property. joseph rafael of cloverdale was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony animal abuse. a worried neighbor called police after finding the horse. authorities say the dead horse had bones showing through its skin. officers also found eleven other horses in knee deep mud. neighbors say

rafael was known for underfeeding his horses. the remaining horses were photographed and moved to a shelter. in the north bay... the sonoma county sheriff's office has released this photo of a man who was arrested for annoying a child. deputies say timothy kottler tried to lure a 13-year-old girl into his car in larkfield. kottler told the girl she was pretty and offered her a ride home as she walked home from school. kottler was released on bail. the sheriff's office says he is homeless and a possible threat to the community. students attending a redwood city elementary school may not have a school for very much longer. the superintendent is recommending closing the school because of decreased enrollment. 8 years ago fair oaks elementary had nearly 500 students... now it only has around 200. the superintendent sent a letter to parents saying he is recommending the school to close at this end of the school year. students told us they are upset their school could be closing.
