yelling....>(grant) dramatic video tonight showing the moments leading up to an officer involved shooting in santa cruz. investigators say a woman got into a patrol car-- and hit a deputy. (assaulted deputy is heard screaming) "...shots fire, shots fired, deputy down..." this is video from deputy august waltrip's body camera seconds after he opened fire on a female suspect who had just attacked his partner with a patrol car. sheriff jim hart identified her as 26 year old jessica lowe.jim hart/santa cruz county sheriff "...lowe had weaponized the vehicle, so she is in a 4,000 pound weapon and now also has access to an m-4 assault rifle..."(injured deputy calling for back-up)"i am injured, shots fired, she's trying to come back around..." from his own body cam video, the injured deputy can be heard screaming in agony while

(pam) in alameda county - body camera video shows the moments a man is attacked by a sheriff's k-9... it happened after he was pulled over during a traffic stop. (ken)the video shows.. the man is in handcuffs at the time of the attack. the alameda county sheriff's department says, the dog was áaccidentallyá released ... but the man who was attacked is now demanding action. (pam) kron 4's terisa estacio talked with him, as he was getting out of the hospital today. (estacio) i just caught up with josh phillips as he was leaving highland hospital here in oakland, his wounds starting to bleed again. (take vo) you can see the two puncture wounds right here (take vo) take a look at this cell phone video it was early monday morning- when alameda county sheriff's deputies pulled over josh and his friends for a suspected dui. josh says he had been drinking, but was not under the influence. he had just got off work and was following a co-worker home. before he was able to comply with the deputies request for a field sobriety test, he says a police dog all of a sudden lept out of the car and started biting him. josh phillips. he attacked me.

into the air and rivers of molten rock stretch for miles. the u.s. geological survey says that there have been two news explosions near the summit of kilauea volcano on hawaii's big island. the volcano is spewing a near continuous cloud of ash reaching 10,000 feet. the volcano is also now emitting 15,000 tons of sulfur dioxide each day, although winds are carrying most of the gas offshore.lava flows from the volcano now stretch 25 miles and have reached the ocean where molten rock hitting the water is exploding like fireworks. it's also sending hydrocloric acid and shards of glass like material flying through the air.the lava flow is also threatening the puna goethermal plant, which provides a quarter of the island's electricity. hoping to prevent gas leaks and a possible explosioncrews have been working to shutdown several wells at the plant.as the volcano spreads, neighbors are left scrambling to adjust. officials gave this school just two days to evacuate before it is lost to the lava. sotof course its saddening. we are taking video and pictures and hoping the lava will end up stopping.other neighbors, who homes have so far been sparred, have been warned to be prepared to leave at a moments notice.sotwe are ready to leave in 10 minutes if we have to and then it's all gone. sotit shows me the power of god, the power of our

(pam) in the east bay-- a hayward officer is injured after a suspect hits her with a metal bar... causing the officer to open fire. it happened last night on hewitt place .. which is just down the street from sorensdale park. police say, they got a call from someone in an argument with their roommate. the roommate had the car keys and would not give them back. police tried talking to the suspect. when they went to detain him.. he aggressively pulled away. then.. he grabbed a metal bar and hit the officer. the officer fired her gun ...striking him, the suspect is now in critical, but stable condition. (pam) new at ten: for the first time, we are hearing from the man who opened fire on a texas church last november, killing 25 people and an unborn child.(ken)the video, taken five years before the mass shooting, shows devin kelley confessing that he is a troubled man with a short temper and a tendency to solve problems with violence.jaie avila reports.

devin kelley:"nobody really knows why i'm suicidal. nobody in the world knew what i knew, and nobody really ever is going to be able to get into my brain to really see everything, i guess, that's happened."so, what did happen to devin kelley?dressed in a fleece hoodie and sporting a familiar military crew cut, kelley records, repents, and appears resigned to his situation as not just a spouse and child abuser... but as a violent and troubled individual.devin kelley:"it can happen in a split second. it only takes a few seconds to lose control."in a rambling 20-minute long confession on camera, kelley's words echo off of blank walls. he is speaking to a judge, he says, against the advice of attorneys, in an effort to ensure his ex-wife receives custody of the child who he admits beating repeatedly when they lived together - striking the baby numerous times, breaking his shoulder blade, shaking him violently, and cracking his skull.devin kelley:"i think when you're under a lot of stress, sometimes, you know, you can't handle it anymore, and you do

thunderstorms in the coming days too. on the satellite you can see an area of low pressure in the gulf of alaska. it's a weak system but it is going to dive toward the bay area over the next few days. there's a chance we could see some rain late thursday and into friday with a few isolated thunderstorms. highs tomorrow will be rather cool with 50s and fog at the coast, with sun and mild temperatures iniland in the 60s and low 70s. on thursday we will see increasing clouds leading to a chance of showers on thursday night. the best chance of rain will come on friday with a slight chance of thunderstorms too. warmer weather is expected for the holiday weekend with some highs on memorial day soaring into the upper 80s. i'm dianne feinstein and i approve this message.
