( will ) happening now... deputies in san mateo county are looking for two teenagers who walked away from the log cabin ranch correctional facility in la honda. they slipped away from the facility

late last night. both of the boys are 17-years-old but police have not yet released their names. ( will ) new this morning in the south bay... one person is dead after a motorcycle crash on interstate 880. it happened just after 1:00 this morning just north of the coleman avenue of ramp in san jose. at one point in time all three lanes were shut down but traffic is now getting through. c-h-p is working to determine if another car was involved in the crash. ( will ) happening today... max harris is expected to ask a judge to postpone his trial for the deadly oakland ghost ship fire. max harris and derick almena are and derick almena are facing multiple manslaughter charges for the fire that killed 36 people in oakland back in 20-16. the trail is scheduled to begin on july 16th... but harris wants to delay the date until september or later. he says he needs more time for the defense fire experts to complete their investigation. accident in the diamond heights district of san francisco. a city worker was killed yesterday afternoon. lilianna preciado was hit by a car that rolled off a tow truck. she died at the hospital. preciado's coworkers say she had been with the city for at least six years. she was one of the few female plumbers in the city. we spoke to one of her coworkers who says this has been a very difficult time.

- is doing better this morning. his condition has been upgraded from critical to serious. the crash happened yesterday near mariposa street and pennsylvania avenue. the officer collided with a car. the driver is cooperating with investigation. the officer's name has not yet been released. ( will ) a woman wanted for two home invasion robberies in the north bay is now behind bars. amber hembree -- also known as "skittles" -- was arrested in virgina on monday. police say they found her hiding in an attic of a home near richmond. hembree is one of five suspects... in two separate home invasion robberies in santa rosa. a man was killed in one of those robberies... another was hurt. hembree is expected to be extradited back to sonoma county soon. ( will ) lead contamination in school drinking water across the country.... may be worse than previously thought. environment america says some states only report results of

lead testing at or above 15- parts per billion -- which is the federal standard. however... environmentalists say... there is no safe level of lead in school drinking water. here in california... officials found lead in over 400 schools ... at concentrations of 5 -parts per billion or higher. lead has been linked to health problems in children... including damage to the nervous system and learning disabilities. ( will ) dozens of protestors rallied at the capitol for clean water... but the proposed legislation to fix the current water system... could raise your monthly water bill. a recent study from u-c davis showed tens of thousands of people living in rural and low- income communities have unsafe drinking water. now a bill introduced last year - would increase residential water bills by about a dollar per month to help improve the water system. the bill has already passed in the state senate - but hasn't been voted on in the assembly. petaluma have arrested these four men accused of selling drugs in a convenience store parking lot. police received a tip about the sale and when they showed up they found zackery fortune... brandon macpherson... julian pedrinazzi... and garrett glen. when poilice searched their car they say they found a loaded gun and several ounces of drugs including meth and heroin. ( james ) police in san francisco have arrested a man who they believe set two fires at zuckerberg san francisco general hospital earlier this month. those fires caused about 30-thousand dollars worth of damage. police used surveilance cameras to identify 28-year-old nelson hernandez. he has been arrested. ( james ) happening today... state attorney general xavier becerra to will announce a 67-million dollar setttlement... providing debt relief for corinthian college students. corinthian filed for bankruptcy last year. corinthian operated a number of colleges... including everest and heald. ( will ) a new bill could open up the doors for victims

of the golden state killer... to be compensated. typically... victims have 3 years to file a claim with the state's compensation board. but a new bill would extend the time for victims to file claims after 72-year-o former police officer joseph degelo was charged with being the so-called "golden state killer." rape victims or murder victims' families can get up to 70- thousand dollars for emotional trauama or financial losses. victims would have until the end of next year to apply... if this bill passes. ( will ) authorities say d-n-a has cleared deangelo in the 1978 deaths of a woman and her 4-year-old son in southern california. rhonda wicht was strangled and her son suffocated at a simi valley home. wicht's ex-boyfriend was convicted and spent nearly 40 years in prison before d-n-a evidence cleared him. 'berkeley bowl' is being sued by a small family- owned business in emeryville. metalco is suing for breach of contract and misrepresentation. they claim that 'berkeley bowl' bought the metalco property for the expansion last year but did not extend the lease. metalco is asking for 5-million dollars in damages if evicted from its building on 67th street in emeryville. ( will ) for your money... finding affordable housing in the bay area is a challenge... but a study finds it can be just as tough everywhere else. minimum wage earners can no longer afford rent on a two bedroom apartment áanywhere in the u-s. in arkansas... you only need to earn a little more than 13 dollars an hour... for a typical two bedroom apartment. the state's

(hermela aregawi) some mixed reactions.. no one seems to think this is a good long term plan. but some people say.. it makes sense to do anything they can to prevent fires like the ones we saw in the north bay.. but they say.. the heat in and of itself can be danagerous especially to those who are

more vulnerable to it.up to half a million customers across the bay area may temporarily lose their electricity. pg&e says it's an effort to prevent a massive fire as the temperature heats up. matt nauman/spokesperson, pg&e and this basically says if conditions exist, temperature, wind, humidity, how dry the fuel is. we might proactively turn off your power. we would let you know as much in advance as we could. in the best scenario we would let you know 48 hours that this is a possibility. 24 hours that it's still a possibility. then 4 to 6 hours before it happened we would let you know that we would do this. we want to let people know this really is a sort of last resort and the focus is on safety.we spoke with customers who say.. this should not be a permanent solution but some supported the plan for now. sanjay lakhotia/customeri think for now it makes sense but i think in the future they have to take care of the situation, polls falling over and having fires for that reason so i think that should be the long term plan. i think there should definitely be a study done or something to understand what made the danger.other say they are really concerned for the safety of their children, the eldery and those who rely on electricity for medical equipment. peter and jamie chung/customeri don't know i think it's almost dangerous. it gets over a 100 in walnut creek and we have a small child. so i don't know. we would have to go somewhere else that has power. i'm hoping they don't shut off

the grant is part of the f-a-a's nationwide airport improvement program. the money will be used to reconstruct the area next to the runway where planes offload passengers and prepare for flights. napa county airport also received a 15- million dollar grant to repair and improve its runway. ( james ) happening today... lawmakers will vote on governor jerry brown's final budget. the plan calls for nearly 140 billion in general spending... and nearly 200 billion in total spending. governor brown wants 16 billion of that money to go into the state's rainy day fund. brown warns a recession could happen at any time.. and he wants the state to be prepared. the site of a restaurant with a beautiful view of the berkeley marina ... is now being sought after by an east bay business group. however there is a snag. the property has recently become the home of a community of people living in recreational vehicles. kron4's haaziq madyun talked to both parties about the situation. sot charles adams is a member of a group of investors interested in leasing the hs lordships site when it closes down in july. however the presence of the community of living in recreational vehicles on the property is a concernsot there are about 25 rv's at hs lordships that were once parked along marina blvd. but back on the 28th may the city of berkeley brought in these

a reaction to the north bay fires investigation. they announced this plan earlier this year and are looking forward... not backwards in terms of public safety. ( james ) a tragic accident in the diamond heights district of san francisco. a city worker was killed yesterday afternoon. lilianna preciado was hit by a car that rolled off a tow truck. she died at the hospital. preciado's coworkers say she had been with the city for at least six years. she was one of the few female plumbers in the city. we spoke to one of her coworkers who says this has been a very difficult time.
