(vicki) another big story we are following tonight.... street gangs are evolving into more sophisticated crimes... that's according to california authorities.. this come after 32 - members of street gangs have been indicted on 240 - counts ... including credit card fraud. they are suspected in an unusually sophiscated scheme targeting credit card readers from medical and dental offices===some here in the bay area. the charges are against members of the "bully boys" and "coco boys" street gangs. california attorney general xavier becerra says hundreds of people across 13 counties have been victimized. and the stolen property including 40 credit card terminals, laptops, and patient files. the attorney general says

latest. florence is expected to make landfall late thursday or early friday.virginia is among the states bracing.the governor is ordering nearly 250-thousand people to evacuate hampton roads and eastern shore on tuesday.gov. ralph northam/ virginia:"this is a serious storm and it's going to affect the entire state of virginia and not just virginia, but our neighbors to the south." 17:36:23florence reached category 4 status monday. it prompted numerous warnings from state officials to not underestimate the threat. gov. larry hogan/ maryland:"we are preparing for the potential of historic catastrophic and life-threatening flooding in maryland."as some residents prepare for what's to come--a mandatory evacuation order takes effect noon tuesday in eight counties along south carolina's 187-mile coastline. the governor estimates about a million people will be affected by the order.gov. henry mcmaster/ south carolina: "this may be inconvenient. this is a very dangerous hurricane. but we are not going to gamble with the lives of the people of south carolina. not a one." mandatory evacuations were ordered monday for six counties in north carolina.the governor also urged residents to prepare for lengthy power outages after the hurricane

valley michelle kingston kron 4 news (vicki) interstate-5 interstate-5 has re-opened ... six days after the delta wildfire burning along the freeway, forced it to close for miles through shasta county. officials say, the freeway is safe for travel... but potential closures could be ordered at any time... because the fire is still burning. so far, more than 49-thousand acres have burned. the wildfire is just 5-percent contained tonight. now opened an investigation into the crash of a drone being used to photograph that cracked exterior window on the 36th floor. the drone crashed onto a nearby sidewalk saturday narrowly missing pedestrians. the f.a.a. will be looking into whether the pilot violated aviation regulation part 107 which among other things says "you must not fly over people who are not involved in the operation of the drone. and you must not pose a hazard to any manned aircraft or to people or property on the ground."attorneys say retrieving footage from the crashed drone is unlikely, as is another plan have someone rappel over the side of the building to take photos and tape the window up.sot tom miller/attorney, millenium tower homeowners association 51-59it raises a lot of issues for us and the assocaition safetywise and we want to be sure whatever we are doing is safe.attorney for the homeowners assocaition, which is suing the buildings developer says the plan now is to wait a month until their window washing scaffolding platform is repaired. by that time a new piece of glass should be ready to install, and the cracked glass can be removed and inspected. tho hoa doesnt believe waiting a month raises any safety concerns.sotwe put a scaffolding down below, and we are also informed that the cracked window is embedded in a silicone sealant so no harm to be cuase by any of that breaking off or falling. so we think it's safe for now. standup dan kerman/sf 144-154 again until inspectors get an

(vicki) in morgan hill -- police arrested three suspects involved in a stabbing that left a 16-year-old in critical condition. police say it happened on friday near tennant avenue and church street. however -- police we're not able to locate a victim or witnesses at that address. reports say several minuts later -- officers found out that the victim was in the hospital recovering from stab wounds in his back. on saturday -- police 19- on saturday on saturday -- police 19- year-old roman yerkovich... and 19-year-old luis pineda... a minor was also arrested. the two adults we're both booked into the santa clara county main jail on attempted homicide and conspiracy. new report shows that nationwide... 'obamacare' prices will rise an average of about three- percent next year. and that's a signifcant drop from last year's increase...when rates for many americans jumped double digits. (vicki) a manslaughter charge against a dallas police officer accused of fatally shooting a man in his own apartment could be upgraded. it's a bizarre case that right now has more questions than answers. officer amber guyger and the man who was killed, botham shem jean, live in the same apartment complex. police say guyger told them she returned to what she thought was her apartment after her shift last thursday. she was still in uniform. guyger said she encountered jean and at some point, shot him. but it was actually his apartment and she had somehow mistaken it for hers. it's unclear what, if anything, was said before jean was shot. now jean's mother wants answers.

guyger was arrested sunday on a manslaughter charge. she was released from jail that evening after posting a 300-thousand dollar bond. the d-a says the charge could be upgraded when her office presents the case to a grand jury. (grant) no surprise that today's teens are constantly on their smartphones checking social media.. and prefer texting over face-to-face communication. but a new poll finds that these same teens-- also say social media has a positive effect on their lives. the poll released todaby common sense media surveyed more than one- thousand 13-17 year-olds. those teens said social media helps them feel more confident, less lonely, and less depressed. researchers also say 89- percent of teenagers have their own smartphone. that's up from 41-percent in 20-12-- the last time the survey was conducted. (vicki) with a weekend emmy win, john legend is now the first african-american man to take home an emmy, grammy, oscar and tony. the names of the four awards forms the word "egot." legend reached 'egot' status by winning a creative arts emmy award at sunday's ceremony in los angeles.(grant) prior to this weekend -- it was something only 12 people have achieved. he shared the award with andrew lloyd webber and tim rice for producing the best variety special winner, "jesus christ superstar live in concert." the win also lifted webber and rice into the elite "egot" status. at 39 years old, legend is one of the youngest egot winners.

breaking news: evacuation orders in effect ... as crews battle a vegetation fire in marin county.good evening... im pam moore.(ken)and im ken wayne. the fire is burning in rough terrain in samuel p taylor state park. it is being called the irving fire, and it has now spread to 15 acres...it is zero percent contained.20 to 30 structures are threatened at structures are 20 to 30 structures are threatened at this time. that fire is expected to grow, the conditions are very dry right now.this is in west marin between lagunitas and pt. reyes station.officials are urging those in the area of mountain kind road, portola ave and almao down to barranca to leave the area and head to lagunitas school for more information.crews say this
