(jr)what a night it was here in los angeles. gavin newsoom addressed the crowd just after 10 pm last night and it was shoulder to shoulder. inside the nightclub venue which was the former los angeles stock exchange building.now this is what it looked at that moment. newsom's wife took the stage first addressing the crowd and then she introduced gavin. he spoke and the couples kids met them on stage. newsom didn't hold back. he said we are living in the richest and poorest state in america. asking how that can that possibly be in an economy as robust as ours. he hit some of the big issues hard talking immigration and acceptingness of people. he talked homelessness and he talked school safety as he recounted a story of an 8 year old girl

to the polls in california to cast their votes - this morning those ballots are still being counted in several bay area counties.( darya ) kron 4's sara stinson is live in san mateo county where they will be working all day long on counting ballots. sara? ( sara )that's right it going to be a long day as workers will be counting 24 hours a day until all votes are counted.not only are they county last minute votes from last night - they are also counting mail in ballots. counting these midterm votes could take longer than previous years as this year california has seen a record number of registered voters.as nearly four out of five californians registered to vote.and just shy of four hunred thousand of them are

morning...sentencing is set next month for the man who raped a 12-year-old napa county girl multiple times. jurors in sonoma county convicted 52-year-old timothy marble of several felony sex offenses monday afternoon. that trial lasted about two weeks. marble met the child at a gas station and invited her to take a ride with him. she says he injected her with drugs, and then repeatedly beat and sexually assaulted her. the victim was able to get away by jumping out of the moving car. marble is now facing life in prison without the possibility of parole. ( james ) a ban on flavored tobacco including vaping products will soon go into effect in marin county. the board of supervisors has voted to prohibit specialty tobacco stores from selling flavored tobacco products, vaping liquids, and menthol cigarettes starting in january 2020. all other retailers will have to stop selling the

cox conceded to gavin newsom about an hour and a half after the polls closed. cox says he called newsom and offered his help because he's quote gonna need it. cox told his supporters he's proud of awareness he has raised about the issues in the state. he told his supporters that republicans will be back in california and that he's not going anywhere.. he loves california and he wants to stay involved. shooting at the yountville veterans home in march. the napa county district attorney's office says it didn't find any criminal liability against deputy steven lombardi. back in march, authorities say lombardi fired shots through a door where he last saw the suspect, albert wong. authorities say wong shot the mental health professionals after he was recently expelled from the pathway home program. the d-a's office says none of the shots fired by lombardi hit wong, or the three women he was holding hostage. ( james ) new this morning... sentencing is set next month for the man who raped a 12-year-old napa county girl multiple times. jurors in sonoma county convicted 52-year-old timothy marble of several felony sex offenses monday afternoon. that trial lasted about two weeks. marble met the child at a gas station and invited her to take a ride with him. she says he

injected her with drugs, and then repeatedly beat and sexually assaulted her. the victim was able to get away by jumping out of the moving car. marble is now facing life in prison without the possibility of parole. ( james ) a ban on flavored tobacco including vaping products will soon go into effect in marin county. the board of supervisors has voted to prohibit specialty tobacco stores from selling flavored tobacco products, vaping liquids, and menthol cigarettes starting in january 2020. all other retailers will have to stop selling the products july 1st of next year. experts say kids using e- cigarettes has doubled in the past two years. ( darya ) police in walnut creek are looking for the man who robbed a maternity in the area this week. it happened at -destination maternity- on mount diablo boulevard. police say the man pointed a gun at an employee and then got away with money from the cash register. no one was hurt during the robbery.
