big story out of the south bay ... a woman was fatally shot by police san jose. police say she tried to run over officers early christmas morning. kron4's sara stinson is live in san jose. san jose police are still investigating this officer involved shooting that happened early christmas morning.take a look at cell phone footage from when shots rang out between officers and shooting suspects.this happened just after two in the morning yesterday when san jose police responded to shots fired near story road and

clemence avenue after someone reported hearing gunshots. officers arrived to find two adults each suffering from at least one bullet wound.police say officers also saw a car that matched the description of the vehicle used by the shooters and it had been reported as stolen.officers tried to stop the car - but the driver drove away and that's when a pursuit began. police say the driver eventually crashed into a chain link fence near the intersection of leigh and fruitdale avenues. they say the driver got the car unstuck from the fence and drove towards officers and then rammed into a patrol vehicle. four officers opened fire and bullets struck the driver and the passenger.witnesses described the shooting to us. the driver died and the passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.after treatment police say she was taken to jail on an outstanding arrest warrant.no officers were hurt in the shooting.though - the officers get put on routine paid administrative the investigation continues.

police are looking for two men who smashed a sliding glass door and burglarized a home early christmas morning the homeowner was alerted by a notification from a motion detector at around 4 a-m of two men in his backyard. when police arrived at the scene, they saw one man climb over a backyard fence and run into the street. officers closed off the scene but were unable to find them. police say at the men got away with stolen the home. ( will ) san francisco police have arrested a man they believe stabbed a woman early christmas morning ... and he may be connected to a deadly stabbing the night before. the first stabbing happened just after 5:30 christmas eve night in the 4-hundred block of jessie street. a 70-year-old woman was found with stab wounds .. she was pronounced dead at the scene. the second stabbing happened just after 12:30 yesterday in the 100 block of third street. a 46-year-old woman was found with life-threatening stab

wounds. 27-year-old michael jacobs was arrested at the second stabbing and was booked into the san francisco county jail. than a month. kron 4's sanaz tahernia has the story. december 25th is a day that most people joyfully celebrating with family.but for one father, it's now a day that represents tragedy and loss.u-s customs and border protection announced tuesday that another child has died in its custody.8-year-old felipe alonzo gomez from guatemala died just after midnight on christmas at a hospital in new mexico.according to the guatemalan ministry, felipe and his father were detained when they entered el paso on december 18th.on christmas eve, a border agent noticed felipe wasn't feeling well. officials say he was taken to the hospital but was released after being diagnosed with a fever and prescribed antibiotics.later that say the boy began vomiting and was taken back to the hospital... where he died.felipe is the second immigrant child that's died in detention this month.

just a few weeks ago, a 7- year-old guatemalan girl named jacklin caal maquin died less than 48 hours after she was detained at a new mexico border crossing.with regard to felipe's death, cbp officials say they've sent the proper notifications and the agency's office of professional responsibility will conduct a review.cbp typically releases migrants or turns them over to ice after a few days.agency guideless say immigrants generally shouldn't be detained for more than 72 hours in cbp holding facilities.and families are almost always released quickly due to limited space in ice family facilities.and now being released probably won't mean as much to felipe's father, without felipe by his side. ( darya ) ( darya ) a crisis near the the texas mexico border. more than 12-hundred undocumented immigrants are expected to be released into el paso this week. that's in addition to the seven-hundred migrants who were already released in el paso on sunday. u-s customs says they are releasing them to ensure families are not detained longer than the timeframe permitted. non-profits in el paso had to scramble to find shelters.

governor brown recently announced the 143 pardons and 131 commutations to people convicted of crimes in the state of california. ( darya ) police in vacaville say they've arrested the man who shot and killed a teenager.( will ) 39-year-old diagnet montoya was booked into the solano county jail and is now charged with murder. pedro rivera has the latest. vacaville police say early monday morning, just after midnight, 39 year old diagnet montoya was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by a group of 5 people. thats when some kind of argument began at some point, montoya left

the argument and went into his apartment to retrieve his gun...the verbal match continued. a short time later, someone in the group threw a bottle towards montoya and thats police say when the 39 year old fired a single shot as for montoya, he has been booked into the solano county jail on murder charges.as police continued throughout the morning to gather evidence, neighbors say they are now thinking of a family dealing with a tragedy during whats supposed to be a joyous day ( will ) that was pedro rivera reporting for us this morning. in international headlines ... rescuers

continue to look for survivors after the deadly tsunami in indonesia.the tsunami killed at least 430 people, and that number is expected to rise. more than 21-thousand people have been displaced. rescuers are using drones and sniffer dogs in their search efforts. the christmas holiday brought out the giving spirit in people all over the bay area and one event in particular in the east bay--- was aimed at helping people in need. more than a thousand people received gifts, toys, hot meals and a lot more ... at the light of grace korean presbyterian church in martinez it's called christmas for everyone. those who are less fortunate in contra costa county are treated to a one stop, one of a kind, christmas experience.

never had, like a bike, at this age on christmas> gifts also included clothing and winter coats that will help folks stay warm this time of year. a local salon was also there volunteering their time to give free haircuts. breaking news this morning out of stanislaus county. a manhunt is underway for the gunman who shot and killed a police officer. these are images of the gunman from surveillance video. newman police say 33-year-old officer ronil singh was shot and killed during a traffic stop just before 1 o'clock this morning. it happened at the intersection of merced street and eucalyptus avenue in newman. singh was able to radio for help after the shots were fired. he later

died at a local hospital. the gunman drove away from the scene in what police believe gray, extended dodge ramp pickup truck.
