in san rafael shortly after he escaped. kron 4's haaziq madyun is live outside of san quentin tonight with details on who polcie are looking for. it has been 18-years since an inmate successfully escaped from san quentin prison. in this current case it appears the inmate escaped while working at an exterior site on the prison's property a carjacking and an escaped prison inmate appear to be connected. 21-year-old shalom mendoza escaped from san quentin prison. he was reported missing around 9:35pm wednesday during an inmate count. mendoza is described as a hispanic male with short brown hair and brown eyes. he is 5-feet 5-inches tall and weighs 177- pounds. investigators say mendoza was last accounted for inside the prison at 5:55pm about a mile away from san quentin prison is this home depot. this is where san
