pushing into the bay around noon. after 4 pm rain chances diminish setting us up for a a dry rest of the day with daytime highs in the upper 50's under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

...one person is dead after a crash involving a pedestrian in mill valley. it happened at around 8:30 last night ... at the corner of laverne and north ferndale avenues. c-h-p also say a fire was reported at (robin ) the clean-up begins from all across the bay. the heavy rains and winds causing major damage in san francisco. take a look at this video... of crews working to help clear-up the debris. downed trees becoming a hazard for people. several areas slowly regaining power this morning. (robin ) in the east bay... commuters using public transportation like buses and bart... also affected by the storm damge. bart alerted the public via twitter about delays between concord and pleasant hill on the antioch and sfo lines due to a large tree hitting a train car on the tracks. as crews worked to remove the tree... service was limited - running

on a single track on the antioch line. one train had to be turned back at pleasant hill -- passengers either had to move to the opposite platform or catch another ride.. no injuries were reported.

freeway quickly became drenched late morning... with puddles building up on side roads... near storm drains where sandbags provided a little protection. in contra costa county, free sandbag stations are available in six different cities... including martinez, outside the department of public works on waterbird way.nats- on withers avenue near pleasant hill road in lafayette.... the contra costa county public works department was busy cleaning up a downed valley oak tree.victoria werhan/homeo wner- "i just ran outside to make sure a truck hadn't hit the house or something." the more than 100-year-old tree fell from victoria werhan's (wear-h-ann) yard just after nine o'clock in the morning... but with a stroke of goodluck... no property was damaged. werhan/homeowner- "when you have oaks, you're always prepared -- that's why we're always like pruning them back to make sure that five years ago, we pruned it, so -- cause it's an old tree - that, if it did fall, it wouldn't hit powerlines and that worked -- it didn't hit any power lines." the department of public works spent several hours

cleaning up. just one of many weather-related incidents, spokesperson steve padilla, says he expects crews to respond to in the coming days.steve padilla/public works- "if your house is, is behind a creek or in front of a creek, take a look, make sure to remove the debis and just keep a monitor on it." padilla says his crews are prepared for a tough stretch.. and, that teams are on standby 24-hours, seven days a week. in contra costa county, philippe djegal, kron four news. (robin ) the storm has claimed two lives.. one in the east bay ..the other in the north bay. the tree branch came down in east oakland near the ardley avenue overpass that goes over 580. at least one person was living or at least staying in an area behind a fence that was closed to the public. the victim has not been named... this all happened just before 5:30 wednesday night. officials say the branch came down on caltrans property ... and an investigation is underway. in burlingame with a look at how conditions are there... nat montageit was a wild, wet, nat montage nat montageit was a wild, wet, windy day along the peninsula on wednesday as storm after storm blew through the bay area.natsin pacifica, strong winds rattled the trees, knocking branches to the ground. nats out at the beach, the surf looked like a washing machine.and a few blocks from the shore, crews raced to drain this low spot near the sharp park golf course. they told me that if they don't pump this water quickly, the entire block will flood.natsa few miles east, strong winds and pouring rain made for slick conditions along interstate 280natsalong skyline boulevard, another crew worked to clear debris and get water flowing. they had spent the day moving from one trouble spot to another. natsin san mateo, a blocked

drain flooded the entire street in front of maureen zane's house. she says the flooding isn't really a problem until someone drives through it. . .sending waves of water into her garage.sot natsfortuantly, a crew was working about a block away to clear a clogged sewer. if they can get it open, the water will drain away from maureen's house. sotit happens everytime it rains. clogged drain.and finally, in saratoga, powerfull winds knocked over trees along crestbrook drive taking powerlines down with them. the santa clara fire department tweeted out this picture to remind people to stay clear of downed powerlines because they could still be energized and dangerous. multiple spin- outs and a jack- knifed big rig ... forced interstate- 80 to close at kingvale. it is open now...but it was shut down for a few hours. we talked to the highway patrol where they are telling people not to travel through the sierra.... until the storm passes. pounded with rain and whipped by strong winds. in flood- prone san anselmo.. there is also concern the creek could do some damage again. here4's justine waldman with the story. natsthe san anselmo creek looked angry .. as dark brown water rushed through around 2 in the afternoon.by 5pm, the water was noticiable higher. it's not at flood levle yet, but eyes are on it becase .. the creek is notorious for flooding, damaging the down town business district.in response, some stores put sandbags out front... sot i live and workin this town and i have seen a lot of people suffer because of the flooding at red hill shopping center, homeowners scopped up free sandbags.to keep their homes dry.sot from 5 to 9 we have a flood warning so if we an make it through that w will be fine cars pushed their way through t full blast kids safesot the thi
