shutdown... which is now entering its 32nd day. hundreds of thousands of workers are attempting to cope without their paychecks. for some.....things are getting tight... while a few are getting relief. john lorinc reports. a light at the end of the tunnel for roughly 300 furloughed federal employees. these department of homeland security workers won't be at their same positions.....but as of tuesday, they're on the payroll at their usual rate. others, like federal prison employee worker george little, aren't as lucky.george little/federal prison employee "we're suffering here. my family is suffering here."he hasn't been paid since the shutdown began last month. caleb mccoy is a hydrologic

( robin ) six people were displaced in a house fire this mroning in milpitas. the fire broke out on the 400 block of manferd street... due to the close proximty of the neighborhood, multiple agencies were called to prevent the spread of the fire. the six people were able to safely get out of the

home by the time firefighters arrived, but one pet did die in the fire. we're still working to find out the cause of the fire. ( robin ) police in antioch are searching for a suspect in a saturday night shooting of a 20-year-old woman. police say, they received several calls about a woman in the 9-hundred block of west seventh street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. the woman was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. ( robin ) a modesto couple say they were shocked to wake up and find out their house had been vandalized by paintballs early saturday morning. janeice and douglas partridge say more than 20 paint-ball sized holes were found dripping with yellow paint outside their home. janeice, is a full-time care-giver to her husband--- a disabled navy veteran who suffers from a rare brain disease. they've lived at their home for more than a decade.

here and we don't have any enemies. never did.">( robin ) the force ripped through their window screen, punched holes in their vinyl siding and splattered their front screen door. at first they thought their homeadneighb told them their house had been shot up from the street with a high-powered gun. ( robin ) the f-b-i is trying to track down a suspect it calls the "traveling bandit." investigators say, this man robbed at least seven banks in six states - from florida to utah - in less than a month. the f-b-i says.. the robber is between 40 - and 50- years old... and usually approaches bank counters with a note demanding money and threatening with a weapon. so far, no one has been injured. ( robin ) boxer manny pacquiao's home was hit by a burglar ..while he was in nevada over the weekend. a spokesman for the famed fighter confirmed... his los angeles home was broken into while he was out of town.

los angeles police say... suspects ransacked the home and took property. no one was home at the time. pacquiao had a fight with adrien broner in las vegas saturday. the 40-year-old boxer dominated the younger fighter... and retained his w- b-a welterweight title. washington wizards in our nation's capitol thursday night ( robin ) dozens of volunteers came together in natomas, just outside of sacramento, -- to build bikes for local children and teens. it was the seventh year of the 50 -bikes for 50- kids program. those involved say doctor martin luther king junior day.. should always be treated as a day of service. so teams of volunteers worked with deserving kids to assemble their new bikes! several bike mechanics were also on hand to ensure the bikes were put together correctly. ( robin ) the children and teens who received bikes were selected by teachers and counselors to be honored by the program -- for demonstrating traits such as respect, responsibility, and citizenship. testified last year before a congressional committee --ri of the cambridge analytica breech ... that users have complete control over the the information they share on the platform.but a new pew research center study suggests most facebook users don't know that facebook records their interests to generate targeted ads --or how to access that information on their profiles. 51-percent of the participants said they aren't comfortable with facebook compiling the data.but facebook isn't the only company collecting and using information about their customers.clickstream data is a history of webpages a person has visited.it's collected using cookies -- tiny text files embedded into websites. cookies enable marketing companies to compile records of a person's browsing habits ... so they can specifically target their advertising.a person's search history ... purchase history .. and social media profile data is all part of the clickstream -- and all used to create targeted ads.

deciding on a venue. contra costa county partnered up with the national park service to offer couples to get married inside the historic john muir house in martinez on valentine's day. the ceremonies will be held between 10:20 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. on feburary 14th. weddings will be held in a room that contains a chandelier, grand piano and a view overlooking the property. the victorian-style home was built in 18-82, according to the county clerk-recorder office. people can make appointments for ceremonies at the clerk-recorder office in martinez.
