( darya ) in the east bay... oakland teachers vote "yes" to strike ... if the school district ádoes not meet their demands. the oakland education association is demanding better pay and better schools. there has

not been a contract agreement with the oakland unified school district since 2017. some elementary school teachers say the issue of pay has been highlighted but there's more than money at play..

happening today in sonoma county... the golden gate bridge district is holding a meeting for a toll proposal increase to cross the golden gate bridge into san francisco. this is just the one of several open houses this week to talk about the proposal options. right now... they have five toll increase options. the district estimates... it needs an additional 75-million dollars in five years. at the end of five years... one of the options is having the toll go up to $8-dollars and 25-cents for fastrak payers... and $9-dollars-75-cents for everyone else ... in a standard vehicle. if you would like to voice your opinion... you can go online to golden gate dot org. to make its first flight to hawaii this week. there will be no passengers on the flight when it takes off from oakland to honolulu tomorrow. this will be a test flight that's part of the airline's

lawmakers have introduced legislation that would allow safe injection sites in san francisco. jerry brown vetoed a similar bill last year. if approved... the measure would implement a pilot program for three years... allowing the city to create the nationjectio

mayor london breed has been a large proponent of the sites... arguing they would take drug users off the streets... and place them into facilities with access to counseling. the department of justice has said... it opposes the establishment of the sites. ( darya ) democratic state lawmakers in california unveiled their newest effort to stop gun violence. it's a group of senators and assemblymembers tasked with creating news laws to help prevent a future mass shooting. democratic lawmakers say a lack of action in congress is prompting the renewed gun control effort...especially in the aftermath of recent mass shootings at a florida high school - and a bar in thousand oaks california. they say they feel more empowered to introduce new gun bills under governor gavin newsom. democrats say an
